I have two questions, must you have purchased and installed iWorks on your iPad or iPhone to use it with iCloud on your iMac?
Secondly, I can't get a Pages '09 document to drag onto the iWorks window and stay nor can I find the Action popup menu window that will allow me to select and choose the document so that I can save it.
I seem to have lost the ability to save to, or open documents from, iCloud (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote). When I try to open a file I get the following box: URL....There is no iCloud option. Same for when I am trying to save. I am signed into iCloud. I have checked Documents & Data and each iWork app. How do I get my iCloud stuff back?

Using my iMac and Numbers, I have saved files on iCloud and today I can't even find iCloud to load my files. Has something changed in iCloud usage?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently made the move from a PC to a Mac, and so far, everything gone very smoothly. I got iWork with my Mac, and there is one problem that's bugging me; every time I open a word (docx) document in pages, it asks me if I want to keep the changes or discard them, and that is for when I am just reading them. When I edit them, and I go to save it, it keeps bringing up the save as box instead of overwriting the present docx file.
I've already installed any missing fonts I have in my documents. So, to summarize, my two main problems are: If I read a docx file, Pages acts like I made changes to it, despite the fact that I did not. If I edit a docx file, Pages keeps bringing up the save as dialog box when I try to save, instead of overwriting the original docx file. The same thing happens with Numbers and Keynote. I just need a temporary fix 'til I can get a hold of Office 2011.

I just wanted to know how I could start the page numbers in header and footer on the third page of my document. The first page is the title page and the second page is the table of contents, and of course I wouldn't want the page numbers to be on those pages.
I have searched on the web and in help but couldn't find anything.

I feel like this should be a simple question, but I cannot seem to get it to work. i have a 31 page, Pages document that I made from scratch. i want to number all the pages somehow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a brief, and currently have the non-page-numbered and the page-numbered components (the cover page, table of contents, table of authorities, etc etc, and the statement of the case and argument, respectively) as a separate document. It'd be nice if I can combine them into one document (makes for easier printing and management).
But I don't know how to offset the page numbering so that it starts on a certain page as "1" and goes from there. I don't want a page number on my cover page and table of contents, for example.
I deleted these apps from my MacBook Air because I am trying to save the space. I already have MS Office so I don't need these. I deleted them and as soon as I logged on again it wants to download them again. How do I delete them permanently?

I've done some work on Numbers and Pages (both 2008) on my MacBook. For some reason when I try to attach these documents to an email to send to my boss, they are grayed out so that I cannot click them and attach them. I've tried using my university's system as well as hotmail, ymail and gmail, so I assume it has something to do with recognition of the files. So far, I have tried to change the Numbers documents to .xls, but this does not solve my problem.
In this form, the properties ("Get Info") tell me that it is a Microsoft Excel document, but Numbers won't open it and in won't send via email. I have other .xls documents on my computer that I either received by email or downloaded, the icon on my desktop is different, Numbers reads it and they can be attached to emails. It seems that even though I change the .numbers files to .xls, there is still something missing for them to really be Excel files or at least sendable.
I have no experience in Numbers so I was wondering if I could create a histogram in Numbers and then bring over the histogram chart over to Pages? And how would I do that exactly? Can that be done? I need to do something like this so that my lab report for my Physics class could look a bit better typed and everything and without any sort of glue or tape.

Does iWork 09 have an Autosave feature in Pages, Numbers and Keynote, as so many wanted in iWork '08?
Also, does anyone know if the equation editor can work with MS Office 2004's equation editor, or does it only work with the one that you have to buy off another website (can't remember the name of it)?
I have an early 2008 imac, running Mavericks.I can open existing Pages and Numbers documents and everything seems to work fine. (using Pages 5)But I can't open a new blank document in Pages or Numbers. (I get spinning beachball, 99%+ cpu, must force quit) Also I can use preview to open any document (pages, numbers, text, jpg), but if I try to export as pdf, it freezes using 99%+ cpu, and must be force quit. I deleted and reloaded Pages, also reloaded Mavericks. it didn't work.I replaced the containers and preference files. No difference.Fontbook did find like 100 warnings in my 800 fonts, no errors though. Other weirdness: Quicktime has lots of weird behavior - opening windows for previously viewed videos, cursor unable to operate the controls or close/minimize windows) I have to use quicktime player 7 instead.
