Apr 14, 2009I recently right clicked a picture to set it as my desktop picture but didn't have the foresight to save the picture in case I wanted to change it later. I still have the picture up but I cannot find where the picture is stored so I can save it for later. I checked HD/Library/desktop pictures but no luck. Does anyone know where these pictures are saved?

Apr 27, 2009I am moving over to OSX on my iMac to manage my audio and image files. Right now I have them spread over several external hard drives on my PC. I have found a good program that does a very good job of identifying duplicates in both categories. They are called Audio Comparer and Video Comparer. Right now they only have windows versions. I am also looking at DupGuru Picture and Music editions which just happen to have a version for each platform. There is also Deep which I will try.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for Mac software that can perform these functions on several external hard drives? I do not plan to use iPhoto (Photoshop, Lightroom, and Lightzone) and obviously will be using iTunes but I desperately need to find and delete all the duplicate files before bringing into iTunes. I know iTunes can locate duplicate file, but names of them may be different since they have been in several Windows programs and formats (MP3, Flac, Apple Lossless....)
I could do this on the PC, but if I can avoid purchasing software that I will not use again (PC) versus doing it on the Mac and having the software for later use is my goal.

The problem is that the only projected image I can see is that of my Desktop image. It doesn't display the Dock, menus or any windows.

I already configured Icloud and I can find on maps devices sucha as Ipads, Iphones and Mac´s, but something is happened with my own MacBook Pro, I cant locate it on the Maps, I only see the image of the MacBook Pro and the instruction for locked it or send a message. I did all troubleshooting explained on support web page (location activevated on security, etc) and the problem still remains.

Feb 23, 2008Been trying to create a CD image mounted on my Desktop, as to load the program it needs to know that the CD is in the optical drive of the MacBook Air. But the program doesn't actually use the CD, its just verifying that I own a copy. Is there anyway I could start the program without actually having the CD in my drive? Anyway of making the Computer think that the CD is actually present, such as mounting the CD image on the Desktop?

MacBook :: Desktop Image Doesn't Fit As Well As With Windows?
Dec 18, 2010Haven't had any success searching for an answer.
I have an aluminum macbook (April 2009) and when I use a picture as a desk top image, even HD resolution pics it never quite fits well as wallpaper. I have tried all options (stretch, full screen, etc).
When I had windows pics would always fit nicely. With my mac its either too stretched and just doesn't fit well
Anyone else have this issue? Am I missing something?
MacBook Pro :: Why Does My Desktop Image Change Back
Sep 28, 2009If I change my desktop image, it often changes back to its previous setting next time I boot up. And- it doesn't remain constant between graphics cards either. (15" late '08 UMBP)
It changes when I connect external monitors, and it changes when I bring it home from work and boot up.
I just can't wrap my head around it. I have to change it every time I boot up, actually.
OS X :: Unable To Eject Dvd / No Disc Image On The Desktop?
Jul 27, 2008my mid-'09 whitebook has a dvd in it that will not eject. there's no disc image on the desktop and i can't eject from the dvd player either... i've tried shutting down and booting up, and restarting....
this is my first issue with this computer so i'm pretty worried... is there any way i can force it to eject? i mean, without damaging anything...

Jun 6, 2014I go into System Preferences, choose a new photo, close System Preferences, the old photo is still there. I have rebooted multiple times, closing all programs first, just in case something open is preventing the switch. I just cant figure this out, I have always been able to change before with no problem. The ScreenSaver is changeable, by the way, that works fine.

Aug 28, 2009I feel stupid for asking this but why do some applications leave a disk image on the desktop after it is installed? you can eject it and it goes away but then reappears every time you launch the program again. Mar 22, 2012When I move a window around the desktop, the image inside it distorts really badly. I have tried a new graphics card, but still does the same. I have booted up from a different system but still the same. It is a Mac pro 4.1 with a GT120 video card. Took the card to work today and tried it in my mac at work and it worked fine. Brought my video card and hard drive from work and put it into my mac at home and the same thing happened. Any body got any clue to what it is. Jun 13, 2009On my old macbook, I installed vista and everything worked fine. I just did that on my new macbook pro. It runs fine and all, but the Bootcamp HD isn't showing up on my desktop under my Macintosh HD. I went do disk utility and it verifiys the disk, but repair just does this:
I try to mount the image, but it fails and wants me to try repairing, which as you see in the picture doesn't work. Any ideas?

Software :: Transferring Files From Lacie To Pc / Itunes Unable To Find Music Files?
Aug 15, 2009I have a Lacie external hard disk that was originally formatted for PCs. I have some files there, but more importantly, my iTunes library is saved directly on the Lacie (I have everything on apple lossless, so they are some big files). I will keep using this PC while connected to the Lacie hard disk to syncro my iPod.
The problem is that I bought a mac now and I wanted the Lacie hard disk to be able to transfer files from mac to pc and vice versa. I have already read that I would have to copy the files that are on the Lacie, reformat the Lacie and then paste the files back. My only doubt is that if I do this reformatting, will I have any problems using the iTunes library while connected to my pc and iPod?
I just ask that because every time I changed any iTunes library folder on the computer, the iTunes would say that the music file couldn�t be found and ask me if I wanted to look for the file. I didn�t want to reformat the Lacie to later find out that I would have to �look for� every single music file, because that would be nearly impossible. I don�t know if I was able to make my question really clear�
