I have an iso image, which contains a .exe file. The iso image is from a game that runs on windows. Once I run the iso image, wine (version 1.0) starts up, and when I run the exe file, in the process window, I see the exe file for maybe 3 seconds, and then it stops. I don't know if what I am trying to do works. Would I need to install this game some other way and then run* it using wine?

However, neither of these comes in the form of a CD image. They are both .exe files. Parellels asks for a CD or CD image. Is there a way to install windows 98 from an .exe in parallels?
And if so will I be able to use the windows xp upgrade once i have windows 98 installed? I haven't yet tried creating a CD image with the exe file on it. I don't know if this would work because it's all in one file and not a typical windows install disk.
I made a backup image file of D2 LOD and im trying to install it again but the installer keeps telling me that i need to insert disc. So my question is, how do i mount this image so that the installer can use it.
Clarification: I lost the original cd so i just have this backed up image, so the image is legit.I just wanted to play this game and i dont wanna have to go buy the disk again.

Now whenever it boot up, it says press any button to boot from cd. I tryed installing rEFit, it installs but doesn'ty boot into the boot loader.

As it was in .SCR i had to use the image recovery software and got it done in .JPG.The file's preview is avaialbe only on the app i used to recover. After i stored the image file on desktop and tried to open it i get an error "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."

then made an image file to a external drive.

I have bought a Macbook Pro 13" for this purpose, as they wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS along with some other course software. I was wondering what other software the school might install to monitor what happens on this computer, as I find it very suspicious that the hard drive has to be wiped. After the school finishes this process, this computer can directly log into the school server, as well as print to network printers. They have installed iWork 2009 and some other course related software. In addition to this, the default Snow Leopard OS has been replaced by the regular 10.5 Leopard OS. I have become rather suspicious of snooping software, as none of the visibly installed software/features seem to require the usage of the older operating system. The bottom line: What other monitoring software might the school have installed, and is it safe to UPGRADE to Snow Leopard?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently trying to burn a bootable image file using OS X 10.3.9's Disk Utility software. I have an external DVD Burner connected to a G4 Cube via Firewire. The issue is that when I select "burn" from the menu and point to the respective .dmg file, Disk Utility does not recognise the attached DVD burner. The burner is however recognised in Toast (which I also have installed).What might the issue be? I have searched high and low on the net in an attempt to diagnose the issue to no avail. Is there an alternative solution to burning bootable disks in 10.3.9?
