View 1 RepliesI just got my new 2009 15" MacBook Pro. I have installed Vista and loaded my Boot Camp drivers. I am trying to use the built in microphone (in the left speaker) for Skype. It appears in the Sound menu in the control panel as a working audio input and sound recorder works perfectly as well. However, whenever I select the microphone in Skype, there is no sound. The mic comes up as a Cirrus Logic CS4206A(AB75) device. Again sound recorder is fine, its just Skype that won't get any input from the mic. I also tried this earlier in Windows 7 RC1 64 bit with no luck. Does anyone know how to use Skype in Boot Camp with the new MacBook Pro hardware?

I bought a used iMac from a seller on ebay. Everything works perfect, iSight camera is excellent. I tried recording a video and it worked, when I played it back it had no sound at all. I already tried going to system preferences and changing it to built-in microphone. I also reset the PRAM. I don't know what else to do!!
It has the version 10.6.8 installed, I don't know if that has anything to do with the mic not working.

Just want to record voice with my built in iMac microphone...guidance? Eventual goal is to use audio voice track for FCE, but want to lay down an audio track for a placeholder to measure length (time) and make some queues. Garage Band or something else.

I have a hard time with skype conversation and rosetta stone speech recognition. Since I started using Rosetta Stone 3.4.5, People i'm talking with on skype complains that they don't hear me well, everything was fine untill I installed this software. The microphone doesn't emit as much volume as it should be and I believe rosetta stone is responsible for the differences in output volume.
I tested the microphone in garage band and I don't hear my voice normaly unless I start shouting out loud.
Or maybe the built-in microphone is too old and it's not working as good as it was before ?

I just bought a new MacBook pro 1 week old. I partioned my hard drive and installed a clean copy of Windows Vista Ultimate on one side. I then downloaded skype, but my internal microphone will not work. I tried everything. Can someone help me out with this issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just got the 2.53 GHz 15.4" MacBook Pro, and I had the Windows 7 RC laying around so I partitioned the drive and installed it. It's running great, I really like it, but here's my problem. Windows and all applications can see the iSight camera, but not the Microphone. If I go into the Sound control panel and click on the Recording tab, the microphone is there, and when I say something I can see that Windows DOES see it, but no other application shows it. I have all the Boot Camp drivers installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMic doesn't seem to work at all. On Skype or on Sound Recorder that comes with Windows XP. I have done a lot of searches on the net and tried a lot of advice offered including some from this forum - reinstall driver, tick boxes, until boxes, scale up, etc. Its a 2008 iMac with XP SP3 installed on Snow Leopard. the driver is from Realtek. I have an important meeting to do on skype while having to run Windows application.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have iMac mid 2008 and I've been using it with Vista before for gaming a lot, but have just installed 7 instead and everything would be great if my microphone doesn't stop working Actually the system can see it but there is no record at all on any recording level. I never had any issue with XP or Vista, and on S-Leopard it still working, so my question is -Have anyone here experienced any problem like this and is there a way out? I tried re-installing BootCamp 3.0, installing Vista's 2.1 Bootcamp drivers instead and also tried the Realtek's drivers from their site -

I'm on the latest MBP and when I'm in bootcamp on Ventrillo, I sound like darth vader when I talk. I think the problem lays in the internal microphone (and the driver that doesn't seem to work)? So if I get an external one and plug it in, I'd rather not want to go buy an external mic and just have it not work still.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy MBA gives out squeaking sound around bass beats. Doesn't happen all the time, but when it does happen, it irritates me. When I listen to the same song on the iphone, I get a very clear sound. Can anyone do this for me? Can you listen to "Speak to me/Breathe" by Pink Floyd on your headphones / earphones if you have that track? Along with the first few heartbeats, I hear squeaking noises. Do you hear anything like that?
This squeaking noise could also happen sometimes when I am minimizing / maximizing windows, or doing something processor intensive.
A feature I loved on Win7 was the ability to drag a window to the side and have it resized to fit half the screen. I found for Snow Leopard a software called Cinch that does that but I wanted to know if there was any free or built in alternative to it, I googled and searched the forum
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to know if anyone can point out the advantages and disadvantages of using a line-in microphone (for the 1/8" analog jack) compared to a USB microphone for a Mac Pro. Do I need some kind of amplification for a head-set microphone with a 1/8 analog jack? I can't get mine to work, but I wonder if there's something I haven't selected correctly in my Preferences.

I' finally getting around to boot-camping my last generation Mac Mini running Leopard. I got the partition created just fine and the XP disc booted just fine. Now for the problem: When I'm giventhe option to install, repair, or quit Windows XP Set-up, I can't select anything. My keyboard, an Apple Wired USB Aluminum, isn't recognized.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed windows XP on my Mac Pro and am trying to connect to the internet through a wired connection, which works just fine on OSX.
When I go into device manager, it doesnt even register that I have a way of connecting to the internet.
After letting Windows 7 install (with empty, unpartitioned space) it created a 100MB recovery partition (WinRE) which seemed okay. But I can't mount the NTFS partition in OS X now. It fails to recognize it. It sees the unrecognizable WinRE partition and seems to not look any further (that's my guess, at least).
Picture attached from Disk Utility of the space that SHOULD contain TWO separate partitions. One for WinRE, the other an NTFS partition for Windows 7.
I recently bought the following: LG WH08LS20 Blu-Ray Disc Rewriter. I have a Mac Pro and installed it. The Mac OS recognizes it just fine. However, the Windows 7 partition does not. I looked and looked for drivers but couldn't find anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I bought that LG HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive for my Mac Pro. I used the extra SATA ports near the fan to install it, and it works great while using OSX, but it won't work in Windows.
I read somewhere about enabling AHCI or something like that in Windows so it can recognize the spare SATA port, and therefore recognize the Blu-Ray drive, but I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
It's awful confusing...
I want to be able to rip my Blu-Ray movies onto my computer to pop them onto the tv, but the only hurdle is having Windows recognize the drive. Any help at all would be very appreciated.
I have two external hard drives, one 250GB for my Time Machine, and one 500GB for other stuff. I had accidently formatted my 500GB to use for Time Machine, but realized, I didn't need that much storage, so reverted to the 250GB for Time Machine and the 500GB for storage. But it seems, in the formatting stage (for Time Machine), it set my file system for the 500GB to Mac OS Journaled. I can see this hard drive on the Mac, but it does not recognize it in Windows (although I hear the USB plug in sound, doesn't show up in "My Computer"). Does this have to do with the formatting? If so, how can I format it so that the external hard drives can be read by both Mac OS X and Windows? Does it require moving my data (before formatting?)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 with boocamp. Just suddenly without changing anything windows 7 stopped recognizing my battery, and is unable to connect wireless. It just gives me an unable to connect error, no more information is given. I found someone on an other forum with exactly the same problem. [URL].
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time i unplug a USB external HD wile its copying/moving files or even just reading (This only happens because of a power failiure, by mistake or by a windows crash) Windows stops reconizing that especific HD, and just says "USB device not reconized".
This only happens in Windows, if i reboot in Mac OS it reconizes the drive and acts normally.
I even tryed formating the windows partition and reinstalling windows but that did not solve the problem.
