I bought a mac computer a few weeks ago. I am unable to view certain sites as I do not have a xm player 2, mime type. I have been directed to a microsoft windows site to download but as of yet have had no luck.
I'd like to change some MIME-type associations, i.e. which program opens which file type. So far I have only found out how to change this setting for a single file (e.g. opening a wmv file with VLC instead of Quicktime via "Open with" ) but I've yet to find the place where I can change this setting globally.
When trying to view live broadcast on streaming faith got MIME type "application/ x- ms- wmp" needed I don't have the plug in I have flip for Mac and perian neither work.
Every time I try to use Youtube it tells me i dont have the internet plug-in for the flashplayer and that I need to follow a link to download it I followed the link, downloaded the program, closed all the browsers and it STILL wont let me on youtube I tried repairing the dick but the disk showed up as fine when i verified it.

I have a question about listening to music online with my sirius satellite radio acct. The page "SIRIUS Player - 100% Commercial-free Music" has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2", but you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page: [URL]. Do you want to open the page? Once I have opened the page, it asks me to download it, which I have done, both actually, the "components for the quicktime" and the "wmp version 9". Neither work.
I've got some documents or rather videos that i've got to watch for Unviersity and I can't open them using my mac because it doesn't have a mime reader. tell me of a reliable mime reader I can download for free?
I'm figuring out some stuff on guitar and need sections of a piece to repeat over and over to make the task easier. Does anyone know of a free media player that will allow you to repeatedly repeat a chosen section. It's a feature a lot of dvd machines have.
The media player should be able to apply this feature to flv files.
I have a playlist that I burned to cd. Worked in my car but not on my friend's cd player. All of the files burned as mpeg. I guess that is what my import settings are set to. I know how to change this in preferences. I don't know which file is best to choose that would play in about any cd player. My choices are mp3 encoder, wav encoder, apple lossless encoder, aiff encoder, aac encoder. I am burning it to a memorex cd-R, 52 X 700 mb. iTunes 11.1.5.
At Homedepot.com there are some videos that I want to watch and it says I need a MIME plug in to view them? Where can I get one?
Here is what it says:
The page Home Depot Video Library : This Old House How To Videos has content of MIME type application/x-oleobject. Because you dont have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed.
I also already have Macromedia Flash 7.0 which is what I thought might view the video.?
I am trying to play video on my Mac Book and the message pops up with this :The page Kaplan - GRE Online has content of MIME type audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin. Because you dont have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content cant be displayed.
Running OS 10.4.11, I want to view a clip on a site that gives me the "you don't have the MIME application/x-mplayer2". Is that something I can download from somewhere?
I was recently on the alltel website trying to preview ringbacks for my phone and when I try to listen to the audio, a little box pops up saying that it "has content of MIME type application/x-mplayer2. Because you dont have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content cant be displayed."
I downloaded the flip4mac WMV to see if that would help and there's still no change. I then went into system preferences, under quicktime and in the advanced setting I made sure that streaming, video, audio, MPEG, MP3, and miscellaneous were all checked and enabled (this being under MIME settings). Still I'm not able to preview the ringback audio on alltel's website. Is there something else that I may not be doing right?
I'm trying to run a site for uni through Safari and it tells me that safari cannot find the internet plug-in. then it says this...
This page has content of MIME type application/x-director, but you dont have a plug-in for this MIME type. This page may have the plug-in for you to download and install.
