Jan 11, 2009Running OS 10.4.11, I want to view a clip on a site that gives me the "you don't have the MIME application/x-mplayer2". Is that something I can download from somewhere?

Sep 24, 2006I have a question about listening to music online with my sirius satellite radio acct. The page "SIRIUS Player - 100% Commercial-free Music" has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2", but you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page: [URL]. Do you want to open the page? Once I have opened the page, it asks me to download it, which I have done, both actually, the "components for the quicktime" and the "wmp version 9". Neither work.

Apr 19, 2012Three days ago, I stopped being able to download or view pdfs online. The problem persists whether I use Safari or Firefox and with both Preview & Adobe. I have never had this problem before. Now if I try to view a pdf online, I get a blank screen. If I try to download a pdf, I get an error message stating that the pdf cannot be opened.

Final Cut Pro X :: Editing Compound Clips - Earlier Clips On Timeline Missing
Jun 20, 2014I have been editing compound clips and when I get half way through i notice early clips in the timeline are missing. So if there is clips ABCD in a connected clip, it will be now AC and the other clips are now gone. I've pressed undo until i saw when they were deleted and it seems when i'm selecting clips later in the timeline it selects earlier clips and deletes them with the clips i want to delete. This is causing a major headache as it seems to be random, I can't replicate it on demand, but it happens eventually in ever compound clip I create. I haven't noticed it while editing a project.

I do want to move clips inbetween other clips, rearranging their order, not deleting them. But whenever I drag a clip to fit splice in between two other clips, it just deletes whats underneath.

Mar 13, 2009I have setup up Finder to view all folders/files. I know how to become root from Terminal using (su) and navigate to all folders and do things.
The problem I can't figure out is when I use Mac apps (such as TextEdit) to open a file in one of the hidden folders (such as /private/etc/apache,) I dont see them in the dialog even though I am logged in as root and have enabled the Finder to show all files.
Is there a way to view all the folders from these dialog boxes? I dont want to use vim or pico for editing.

Jul 24, 2009I'm using an iBook G4 OS X Version 10.4.11.
I have a CD that has medical images on it (ultrasound photographs); I've put it into the CD drive and it comes up under "Finder" but when I click on anything, it comes up with "There is no default application specified to open the document "DecodJPG.dll" and gives me the choice of "Cancel" or "Choose Application". If I select "Choose Application", no matter what I choose, it doesn't take me to anything.
Alternatively, some of the files I click on automatically opens iPhoto, which looks like it's going to import the photos, but then I get the following message:
"Unreadable Files: 1 The following files could not be imprted (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)."

So far I have only found out how to change this setting for a single file (e.g. opening a wmv file with VLC instead of Quicktime via "Open with" ) but I've yet to find the place where I can change this setting globally.
