Does OSX maintain any sort of clipboard history (similar to what Microsoft Word offers)? Basically I copied something to clipboard and pasted it, then copied something else and pasted it but I am wondering if there is any way to retrieve the first item I copied to clipboard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated one of my work machines to Snow Leopard yesterday, I am unable to copy photos to the clipboard in Preview or similar apps. The option is grayed out. I usually do this to change icons, but I've had to use third-party apps to do this since the upgrade. I'm sure it has to do with permissions, but I'm not very well versed in that aspect of OS X yet.

I am using a MacBookPro late 2009 running10.9.3. I am using Ffx version 30.0, latest edition. I copy some text onto my clipboard using Command-C and then I use Command-F to find text on the firefox window. then when I try to paste my clipboard text (with Command-V), whatever I typed into the Command-F window is what gets pasted. This overwriting of my clipboard is brand new - Ffx never worked this way before.
I have restarted my computer. I have reset Firefox. I have restarted Firefox in safe mode -> the problem persists. I am using the Default theme in Firefox. I do not have any extensions. I have only a few add-ons but when they are disabled (= safe mode) the problem persists. I have unchecked the "use hardware acceleration when possible" option in Firefox preferences and the problem persists. I posted in Mozilla support and so far I have been told to try safe mode (doesn't work, as above). I have tried selecting the "automatically search when I start to type" in Ffx to go around the Command-F step --> the problem persists.
Edited to add: the command-F search function works fine. That's not the issue. It's that using Command-F automatically overwrites my clipboard text with whatever text I type into the command-F search box.

I have been searching online for a few days now for a clipboard manager that can handle shortcuts/abbreviations. I do a lot of copy and pasting frequently used templates into forms for work and right now, it's not working the way I want it to. Currently, I use "Clips" as a solution. It works great... sometimes. I have submitted a ticket twice about my problem and no one seems to get back to me. What happens is that I will type my abbreviation and then it will either paste what I want in place of it, or not. If it doesn't, I have to restart "Clips" to get it to work again. Driving me insane when it stops multiple times during my sessions of filling out forms. I have about 5 phrases that I keep saved with an abbreviation as a shortcut.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI lost some very important data last night and was wondering if there's anyway to retrieve it. I had copied it from a textarea box in a webpage at one point to my clipboard. Is there anyway that I can see clipboard history or view a cache file from Safari that will have the data I had copied?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI understand that in order to view your clipboard (iMac) that you click "Edit" on the Finder, and "show clipboard". I created a public link (Alias) and it has gone into my clipboard but, when I click on it, to copy and then paste into, for example, an email, I don't have an option to do that. Therefore, I have to write the link down and then re-type it into the email.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running 10.5.2 on a MB Pro. Previously, when I used the built-in screen capture utility (Command+Shift+3 (or 4)) the capture would be saved in .png format into my "Desktop" directory. Now, when I do captures the data is not saved to a file, but instead is copied to my clipboard. Why and how can I correct this?

Why does my mac stop downloading files, copying to clipboard, saving files to desktop, etc?
iMac g5 1.9 ghz 17" running 10.5.8. Had a hard drive crash and bought a new one. Loaded new OS leapord. Everything works fine at first, but after the computer has been on for a while, it will stop downlading files, disk verify doesn't work. I can't copy and paste stuff. It seems as if the hard drive is full, but I have only used 32GB of 300GB.
When I restart, it works again, then slowly not. Is it an overheating issue? How do I know if my fan is running? Is it a bad hard drive I put in it? Bought it new with three year waranty.
I moved "Documents and Settings" to the trash, from my windows partition. I later reformatted it, but "Documents and Settings" is still in the trash and won't go away. How do I remove it from the trash?

View 5 Replies View Related this is going to sound silly and I hope I can explain it correctly, but when you click on the Macintosh HD icon and the window opens up, there is a list on the left side of the window. Down towards the bottom of this list, there is a folder titled: "Search For". Is there any way of clearing the Today, Yesterday, Past Week, All Images, All Movies and All Documents folders without actually deleting the files from my Mac?
I recently upgraded to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and now Onyx does not work for me.
I used to have a Macbook, but after two years the hard drive crash, I now have a pro. After getting the files that I needed back I went into my external hard drive that my old macbook backed up onto and tried to delete all of the old back ups so I could make room for my new computer to use. After deleting it one file is left in my trash can. It is an old back up from August and the file name ends with .inProgress.
I assume that I must have disconnected my computer or something while it was backing up, but now when I try to clear the trash it says "The operation can't be completed because the item "AGQ0qILU99QsKv" is in use." I have no idea what that item is, where it is because it doesnt show in the trash, or how to get rid of it. I have tried to secure empty trash and use a few terminal commands but nothing is working. Also it wont let me remove it from the trash. It just copies the file rather than moving it out.
Can anyone please tell me how I can clear the cache on my iMac. When entering email address in Mail, old ones appear that I no longer use nor are they in Contacts.I had a One to One the other day, but the guy couldn't find out how to do it?!
