It looks very nice but I'm not sure if it's just me but Apple Mail just seems easier. I do like that you can flag emails and put them off for a certain day. It doesn't appear that I can do that with Apple Mail. Other than a few things I still feel that Apple Mail is easier and works so much better with mobile me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am an educator and my school system "upgraded" their Exchange Server and subsequently put Outlook on my computer. I configured Mail to pop over from Outlook, but now, I can't delete an email sent to my school email account without opening up Outlook and deleting it....it just keeps reappearing in my inbox. The problem is not the same on my iPhone or iPad, just on my MacBook Pro. So, I go for several days while the emails pile up, then open up Outlook and delete them one by one when I can't stand it anymore. Also, when Outlook is open, my computer runs at about 1/2 speed...everything slows and bogs down. Can I just delete Outlook from my computer?

When I'm running mail rules on my Exchange account in Outlook 2011, the app continually crashes. I've tried finding the offending mail rule, but the issue doesn't seem to associate with any single rule: it just appears to be an issue running Exchange-based rules (as opposed to local IMAP/POP rules).
When I turned off all my Excahnge-based rules, Outlook became stable. This also appears to be a carry over issue from Entourage 2008, where I began having the same problem, just before I updated.

I have a new iMac and I want to transfer my Apple Mail from my older Mac Book Pro running Snow Leopard to it. I've zipped up the Mail folder that was under Library and I found out how to access the hidden Library on my iMac. I see mail has changed a bit in Lion and before I unzip my mail folder into /Library/Mail, I want to make sure I won't screw anything up.Â

If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a user who just switched from Mac Mail to Outlook 2011. Getting a strange issue when sending to users on Outlook 2010 PC.
When sending a message, users on Outlook 2011 and people viewing the message via web mail can see the message fine. It reports that it's a digitally signed message (just one sentence), and the certificates look fine. Via the web, the message appears fine. It says:
"This message has a digital signature. The digital signature could not be validated because the S/MIME control is not available." However, it comes up fine.
However, users on Outlook for PC (my version is 2010), cannot read it. I first get a preview pane error "This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents." And when I double-click on the message, I get a pop up window "Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system."
Anyone can provide clues why other Outlook MAC users and via the web the message can be read, but just not PC Outlook users for now?
I will be switching from Outlook 2007 to Office for Mac Outlook 2011 for my business email/calendar/contacts. I am pleased with Outlook 2007, but despise my PC otherwise. I will be using Microsoft Exchange as my email server. My concerns: Calendar Syncing, Accessing Archived PST files, Transitioning current mail folders.
I have a couple questions regarding this switch:
- Will Office for Mac Outlook 2011 accommodate by business needs and offer a comparable application as Office 2007 (PC version)?
- What roadblocks or issues should I be aware of when making this switch?
Is there anyway to log out of Apple mail? I have it set up to prompt for a password upon opening. However, my e-mail show up before the prompt and stays in the background after it appears. I share a computer and would like to keep my e-mail private without having to switch system accounts.

I have a problem with Apple Mail and I need someone to help me. I use Snow Leopard and want to use Apple Mail instead of Entourage. But, everyone uses windows around me and when I send email to them, they get my email as plain text. Here is my question... Even I made changing form plain text to rich text in preferences, my mails go still as plain text. Should I do something with Terminal? How can I fix it? Preferences richt text/plain text switch doesnt work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure if it is me or this is just the way Apple Mail works. Logic would assume that if you select a message in Apple Mail and that message is highlighted, not opened, and you click the From column so you can sort by that column Apple Mail would make sure that, when it is sorted, the highlighted message would still be in your view. I can get this to work sometimes and other times it does not, so it is starting to bother me. Is there something that I am missing...some step...or is this just the way it works.

View 21 Replies View RelatedWell I am about to give up on Apple's OS-X Mail program. In my business am I converting from Windows laptop's to MacBooks. Everybody is really happy to start using OS-X and have the benefit of the improved stability and extended battery life. So far so good. But now we have run in to a severe problem in the compatibility of Apple Mail and Outlook. If we send emails to Outlook clients (99% of the time) our signatures end up as and separate .HTML attachment in the Outlook client. We tried everything but the main problem is that Apple Mail does not generate HTML-mail, but RTF-mail. This RTF format is compliant with the standards but Outlook uses its own RTF specs. So now I am forced to use Entourage (that works) but I want to get away from anything Microsoft because of the excessive price and very limited support. For a full licence I would have to pay $339 per user, just to get this compatibility issues out of the way. For 28 users that is still a lot of money (9500 $). Does anybody have an alternative, so I do not need to make Bill richer then he already is. I looked at Mozilla email client, does not work either.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSnow-Leopard 10.6.1 on uMPB with 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HD, 2.8 GHz IC2D, Mail (64-bit) 4.1 (1076) Mail is eating my memory over time and I cannot fix this problem. In long: I have been having trouble with Apples Mail ever since my SL upgrade but now it is getting to become VERY annoying. First, after upgrading, Mail would often hang when quitting (for up for 5 minutes) which would not allow me to shut off my computer. Now, in 10.6.1, when I open Mail, I can sit and watch Mail eat away my RAM. From 20 MB initially, it quickly hits 100 MB RAM then after a couple of hours of leaving it be, I can see that Mail is requiring 2.5-2.6 GB of RAM (Gigabytes!) constantly. At first, I thought this was due to GrowlMail not being compatible with 10.6, but even after updating Growl to 64-bit and reinstalling GrowlMail this memory problem still persists. Actually, after uninstalling Growl and all its applications (including GrowlMail) Mail keeps eating a solid 2.6 GB of my RAM. Continuously. This slows down my 4GB 2.8GHz uMBP and causes long sessions of spinning balls and delayed keyboard/mouse actions. Mail never lets go of the RAM only gets bigger up until 2.73 GB (highest I have seen before I force quit it through Activity Monitor). Once I Force Quit, Mail releases the memory and I am back to my fast mac. I found the following this at [URL] and after removing my RSS feeds from Mail and restarting mail, I am now running perfectly again --- Virtual Memory and RAM both less than 45 MB.
