I need someone to give me a guide to writing the Laplace symbol in Latex. I am using Scientific Word. I know that one needs to use the mathrsfs.sty file and some font definition files, but I don't know how to put all these together and into the right folders for my Scientific Word installation.
At the moment, I have placed the mathrsfs.sty and .me files inside TCITeX/TeX/LaTeX/Contrib/Supported/
..and I have put the font files inside a folder in the /fonts/ directory.
When running certain apps when logged in to my MAC (OS 10.5.6), I get the Java cup symbol (the one with arrows around it), but no app. When logged into the same mac as other users (my family), they run fine. Any ideas how to resolve?
I've recently replaced my video card because the previous one had problems displaying garbled videos on screen.
However, when I took it back from the repair, and start booting up my computer, i hear the chime and it shows me flashing globe symbol as it's booting up. (when it's supposed to show me the apple symbol).
Occasionally I will turn on my IMac and I wont have any sound. When I try to turn up or down the sound, there is a restriction symbol in the sound box that pops up and nothing will happen. The old restart usually works. However, when I try to plug in headphones or an external audio cable, nothing changes. I still get sound out of the computer, and it works like there is nothing in the jack. All software is up to date, I reset PRAM and did the "unplug everything" drill. Still no change. When I did the unplug everything, its almost notorious for having the first problem of "no sound".
I need to make Symbol Links for some files and was looking for a way to make them. I don't want to use Terminal as I am just getting used to using a MAC. Is there a free program out there that will do this?

I have an untitled cd in my finder under devices. My cd/dvd player will not work since it has been there. I cannot drag it to trash or anywhere else. I've found a few post online but none seem to help. Why is it there and how do I get rid of it? Once I do get rid of it, will it allow my cd/dvd to work again?
Old computer I had is OSX Snow Leopard with Entourage. New one is OSX Mavericks. Using Mail where are my addresses and old address book. Transferred old computer backup by Time Machine and other things work? Can't see a symbol for address book.
Do ya'll see question mark symbols replacing some punctuation? This isn't consistent just sometimes. Is it a problem on my side of things, or is it the text? Is it something you fix or live with?
I just bought a macbook pro 15" and I noticed something strange. I installed Skype application and the icon is strange and different on my dock application folder. Why does it not show Skype's normal icon? Check pic for more details.
I am just surfing the Internet and up shows up on the screen a white chain symbol on the screen. It looks almost like a infinity symbol. It shows up for a few seconds then it disappears.
My wife was typing up a document for her University and it showed to her first. This was two days ago. I think this is the first time that this has ever happened to us.
I have a document in which I need Old English characters such as thorn, eth, ash and yogh. I have installed Junicode and it shows up in my font book, displaying all the characters I need under 'repertoire'. However, if in the word document, I go on INSERT/SYMBOL, the menu only displays a minimal number of characters and certainly not the ones I need. (This is where, on my PC, I had been able to choose the respective character and assign it a shortcut).
