Jun 25, 2012My wife's bluetooth just disappeared. The Bluetooth symbol on the menu bar is gray with a wavy line. Ran out and got a bluetooth adapter and it still isn't recognized. Bluetooth was working great last night. Not sure what my wife did.

Jul 23, 2008I want to create stacks for my Applications and put them in the dock by type. Utilities, Music & Video, iLife, etc. I think what I will do is make aliases for all the applications and put them in subfolders separate from the Applications folder, so then I have these 3-6 subfolders in my dock as stacks that I can display in Grid or Fan mode. And I don't have to see all my applications in one jumbled Grid and search for them.
Yes, I know Spotlight or QuickSilver could access them differently.
My question is, when I have created this duplicate system with the aliases to the apps, how do I remove the Alias (arrow) portion of the icon so that they look just like the actual icon down in the stack (or in my subfolders, etc)?

Feb 11, 2008When I upgraded to 10.5.2 a .Mac icon was placed in the menu bar. I don't use .Mac so I'd like to get rid of it but I can't figure out how. Every other icon in the menu bar can be removed/changed via System Preferences except for the .Mac one as far as I can tell.

Oct 9, 2009I just installed Symantec Anti-Virus and it automatically puts an ugly icon in the menu bar. I already have a few things up there that i like/need and don't want the symantec button, but symantec doesn't give me the option to not display the button in the menu bar.

Mar 13, 2010I recently uninstalled vmware fusion and afterwards noticed that the little icon on my menu bar is still there.
I tried clicking on it to get to the "applications menu settings" section, where I could presumably remove this, but since I uninstalled it doesn't do anything.
I also tried holding command and dragging it off the menu bar - nothing.
My googling has given me solutions for it, but only if the software is still installed. Is there some way around having to re-install it to fix this? That would be a pain because I no longer have the disc.
Maybe there's some file I can delete or something I can kill via terminal?
