Apr 9, 2012My keyboard isn't working properly, when I press the letter 'o' it shows the symbols 'oty' and when I press 'N' it brings up a new page of whatever I'm on. Also when I press 'L' it shows the copyright symbol followed by a dot and what looks the the letter 'L' floating on its side. Can someone please help with this? I'm just so confused and been trying all sorts of things for over two hours now.

May 14, 2012Recently the ALT +2 and ALT +3 functions (to insert the euro and hashtag symbols, respectively) have stopped working on my keyboard. I have looked into various preferences and settings but have been unable to sort this out.I'm on an iMac running Lion 10.7.3 and a wired Euro keyboard with keypad.

I use iWork, and this function is under "format-font-baseline-superscript", I try to use the shortcut "control+command+plus", while it doesn't work.

Nov 21, 2007I need someone to give me a guide to writing the Laplace symbol in Latex. I am using Scientific Word. I know that one needs to use the mathrsfs.sty file and some font definition files, but I don't know how to put all these together and into the right folders for my Scientific Word installation.
At the moment, I have placed the mathrsfs.sty and .me files inside TCITeX/TeX/LaTeX/Contrib/Supported/
..and I have put the font files inside a folder in the /fonts/ directory.
I included the mathrsfs in my preamble as
usepackage{mathrsfs}
and I also added it as a package NATIVELY.
In my document, I use
mathscr{L}
But, I just get an ordinary L.

However, when I took it back from the repair, and start booting up my computer, i hear the chime and it shows me flashing globe symbol as it's booting up. (when it's supposed to show me the apple symbol).

Apr 18, 2010Occasionally I will turn on my IMac and I wont have any sound. When I try to turn up or down the sound, there is a restriction symbol in the sound box that pops up and nothing will happen. The old restart usually works. However, when I try to plug in headphones or an external audio cable, nothing changes. I still get sound out of the computer, and it works like there is nothing in the jack. All software is up to date, I reset PRAM and did the "unplug everything" drill. Still no change. When I did the unplug everything, its almost notorious for having the first problem of "no sound".

Mar 19, 2012I have a document in which I need Old English characters such as thorn, eth, ash and yogh. I have installed Junicode and it shows up in my font book, displaying all the characters I need under 'repertoire'. However, if in the word document, I go on INSERT/SYMBOL, the menu only displays a minimal number of characters and certainly not the ones I need. (This is where, on my PC, I had been able to choose the respective character and assign it a shortcut).
