I have downloaded iwatermark. I can add text, but I can't seem to put a copyright symbol (C in circle),anyone know how? I tried to copy and paste one from Word, but it wont paste into the text box.

I have a document in which I need Old English characters such as thorn, eth, ash and yogh. I have installed Junicode and it shows up in my font book, displaying all the characters I need under 'repertoire'. However, if in the word document, I go on INSERT/SYMBOL, the menu only displays a minimal number of characters and certainly not the ones I need. (This is where, on my PC, I had been able to choose the respective character and assign it a shortcut).

However, I realized that there's a typo. Where can I find where this information is saved so I can change it? I checked my address book and the copyright information is not there. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to be upgrading to a Mac Mini within the next couple of months (from a knackered Windows PC), mainly to use as a media centre, and i am going to be backing up alot of my DVD's to use and play on the Mini itself. I have downloaded the Windows version of Handbrake this morning just to see how good it is and to get a feel for it properly before i start using it on a regular basis on my new Mac Mini.However, when trying to rip a DVD, i get a message saying "File not Found" and then a message about the copyright or something? This happens after scanning the DVD (Snatch, to be specific) and it won't let me rip the DVD.. it's as if it either doesn't recognise it or is being blocked by the copyright on the DVD.

I've found a few post online but none seem to help. Why is it there and how do I get rid of it? Once I do get rid of it, will it allow my cd/dvd to work again?

I have let it run 24 hours and still would not restart. The only way i can shut it off is holding down power button. Its a pain to have to do this any time the imac needs to restart. The screen just shows the swirling wait circle and nothing ever happens.

My keyboard isn't working properly, when I press the letter 'o' it shows the symbols 'oty' and when I press 'N' it brings up a new page of whatever I'm on. Also when I press 'L' it shows the copyright symbol followed by a dot and what looks the the letter 'L' floating on its side. Can someone please help with this? I'm just so confused and been trying all sorts of things for over two hours now.

So I love the iPhoto "ken burns" slideshows, and I had created a cute one set to the "Linus and Lucy" theme song. However, when I exported it to a .mp4 and uploaded it to YouTube to share on my site, I got the "copyright" warning and the audio is disabled. So anyone know what the copyright limits are as far as slideshows are concerned? What's the point of allowing us to use it if we can't share it? I also noticed that the quality is degraded due to compression... would it be better just to make my own slideshow in iMovie and share that instead (quality-wise)? Or is there a better way to share the slideshow?

My iMac, which was new Christmas 2011, has developed a strange fault. If the computer is left idle for any length of time, I then find that there is no sound and the speaker symbol at the top of the screen has disappeared. Sound is only regained by rebooting.

Today I turned on my iMac and an access denied symbol show up at the loading screen. After waiting a while, it changed into a folder with an iterrogation in the middle of it and it starts to twinkle. I really don't know whats going on. Yesterday I turned off the iMac as normally and I didn't add/remove any programs or made a change on my settings.

My wife's bluetooth just disappeared. The Bluetooth symbol on the menu bar is gray with a wavy line. Ran out and got a bluetooth adapter and it still isn't recognized. Bluetooth was working great last night. Not sure what my wife did.

I am trying to insert a 4 Gb SD/HC (unlocked) card into the iMac desktop to view some recently exposed photos. I have tried inserting it both ways, with the Sandisk label facing me and facing away from me. In both cases, the card detection does not show on the screen. Amazingly the 900-page book "Mac OS X Lion, the missing manual" does not even discuss SD card usage for the iMac.I have looked into My Computer and in Lightroom 3, and it does not show in either places. What am I doing wrong?

I cannot insert a disc into my drive. Not sure it is relevent, but I was using cds last night and ejected a disc, but left it half-way out of the drive overnight. After removing the disc this morning, it will not let me insert another one. I restarted the computer, but the problem remains. I have a 27-inch intel Imac.

Two days ago I listened to an audio CD. It played and ejected fine, but now I cannot insert a disk. I have restarted and also unplugged and restarted, but no luck. I am not able to insert a dvd into the player on my 24" Mac desktop. I haven't used the dvd function in over a month. I am pretty sure there is not one in there now. I went into iDVD and DVD Player and there were no options to eject a disc so I think it is empty. However, when I try to insert a disc there is a thud and it does not go in. I tried to force it (a mistake, I know) and it went about half way in but it did not go easily. When I tried to remove it, it was stuck and it scratched the dvd when i pulled it out. Are DVD player problems common with this model? It is going on 3 years old.

Got my 24" 2.4GHz iMac on release last year, with Tiger. Installed Leopard on it on release day.
The problem I have is that ever since a botched Boot Camp installation I've had endless problems with certain applications hanging during their startup (notably Image Capture) or refusing to quit (notably iTunes). Force Quit doesn't resolve these issues. Restarting doesn't work because Force Quit can't quit them so I have to pull the plug or otherwise force a shutdown.
Upon restarting I either get the grey screen that instantly appears, or, if I've pulled the plug and left it for a few minutes I can get to the Apple symbol but no spinner or any further start up action. Occasionally I get lucky, get back up and running, and all is well until the next crash.
All this started happening when I decided to try installing Windows on Boot Camp again. I've had it on here a couple of times since Leopard was released but usually end up deleting it eventually because either the Windows installation gets bogged down or I get bored with it and never use it. Anyway, this time, using the same discs I've always used (and yes, it's SP2, so it should be fine and anyway it's worked at least twice before) when I got to the 'restart to continue installing Windows' bit, I got the white screen and nothing happened. After an hour or so of praying and restarting endlessly trying to get a response, I finally got it to recognise my OSX installation and was up and running again. The Boot Camp volume didn't appear to be there and Disk Utility revealed zero problems whatsoever. Everything looked fine until these recurring hangs, refusals to quit apps and screwed up start-ups.
Any ideas? I don't have the expensive Apple support, but it's less than a year old! Of course, I realise that this means nothing to Apple, who seem to think I should pay a premium in order to have my machine warrantied by them for more than 90 days. Grr...
If I get it up and running I'm thinking I should just wipe the ENTIRE system absolutely clean and re-install Leopard and then use my Time Machine backup to put all my data back on (pricelessly valuable as I use the machine to work on my photography with), but I'm concerned that if there's a flaw in the System somewhere, a corruption, that installing the Time Machine backup will just reintroduce the error. On the other hand, if it's a deeply embedded and invisinle partition corruption from the bad Boot Camp installation attempt, that should be fixed by wiping the entire drive to reinstall Leopard, right?
I'm selling my old iMac and while cleaning the hard drive it froze. I forced shut down and when I turned it back on a circle with a diagonal came up initially, followed by flashes of that, a question mark and the apple symbol. Now it won't get past the grey screen and the flashing symbols.

Having upgraded to mac os x lion, I now find that some of my (important) apps are no longer supported. My question: if I insert the CD and reinstall Snow Leopard will I be doing any harm to the computer? This seems to be a cheaper option than re-purchasing apps that no longer work. Any advice will be gratefully received.
