Applications :: Locate Specific Item To Remove The AppDelete Contextual Menu Item
Jun 23, 2010I've uninstalled appdelete as I now use cleanapp. Anyway, I have uninstalled it but the contextual menu is still present. I have tried looking at the services and libraries but cannot locate the specific item needed to be deleted to remove the appdelete contextual menu item.

I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.

MacBook Pro :: Suddenly All Of The Wireless Signals Disappear From AirPort Menu Up On Menu Bar
Dec 27, 2009I've realized that sometimes I "lose" my wireless signal. I am not using an AirPort router (I'm using Linksys, if that's at all helpful). I've noticed that suddenly all of the wireless signals disappear from the AirPort menu up on the menu bar, except the network that I am connected to (i.e., I only see my router's name there). It also becomes impossible for me to browse the internet, so what I've done to troubleshoot this is disable the AirPort, put the computer to sleep, and disconnect/reconnect my router. When I turn it on, it seems to work. I've also tried simply disabling and then re-enabling AirPort, but it doesn't work after that.

Sep 18, 2010my "services" menu has disappeared as an option in finder. When I try to access it by right-clicking a finder item (folder or file), it's just plain missing. However if I look for it under the finder menu bar, the arrow beside service says 'building'. But I've been waiting for hours and it doesn't look like anything's happening.

Dec 16, 2010I recently bought myself a Macbook Pro 13-inch model and I've been loving it so far. One thing that really bugs me is how bad the menu navigation is in OS X. I just read this on Macrumors and the only way to access menu from keyboard is by using ctrl+F2 key for which I have to press ctrl+fn+f2 key since F2 is a secondary function. Also, there is no way of going directly to the middle of the menu by keyboard shortcuts, right? If that is true, Mac OS X is still not polished enough for laptops. is there are a better way to control the menu items?

After a day of installing and trying/deleting new apps as well as trying terminal tricks from UsingMac.com like these and these, i went up to my apple menu in the menu bar for the first time since i started fiddling around, and it looks like what you see below in the attachment. I have absolutely no idea what made it happen; I'm just wondering if there is a way to reset the menu alone. because instead of having just what it says in the "system services" section in the menu, it has all that other stuff as well (Calculator, FruitMenu, etc.).
P.S.: Fruitmenu isn't even installed. i uninstalled it after i found out it was only a demo.
So basically:
1) how do i restore the main menu in the menu bar back to its original settings?
and 2) I need to do it in a way that wont screw up the rest of my computer or settings

Jun 1, 2012I'm in a program (Safari, Word, iDesign, etc., I click open file > desktop (or any other folder), and nothing appears.just the spinning wheel (that won't stop).I had my hard drive replaced in March after my system started running slow one day, then froze. I did a hard reboot, and it wouldn't come back on.A week after I got it back, I started getting the "gray screen of deaf" with the spinning wheel. So I took it back in and they replaced the operating system (10.7.3).It worked fine for a few days, but for the last couple of weeks, I've had to do a hard reboot just about everyday due to my system freezing up.I've updated to OS X 10.7.4, which wasn't easy. Cllicking "update OS" didn't work...it always ended up telling me unable to update this operating sytem. I had to download the OS from this Apple site. It took about 20 hours to update (?!?) I can't afford to be without my system for too many days while in the shop at this time. Do I need to start looking into a new system.

My iMac can locate it. And apparently be connected to it. But it's a mystery to me where in my home it is. Some time ago, I decided I wanted my numeric keys back and switched to a wired keyboard. May 8, 2008Having trouble on my mac while trying to connect to the internet using the built in Ethernet.
It says under network: Built in Ethernet is currently active. Built in ethernet has a self assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet.
I hit the IPv6 and/or DHCP and it locates a IP just not a router number. Is this what is stopping it from connecting? Please help as I have an AP test I would like to study for....
Applications :: To Locate The Files That Are External Only?
Mar 30, 2009so first off, sorry for the potential repost. I couldn't find the answer on the forum so I am starting a new thread.
Let's say I have a 50gb music library. I want to put all 50gb on the external, and keep about 30gb on my iBook.
That part was easy enough, however I am running into problems keeping everything in my library located.
Everytime I disconnect and then reconnect the external, anything that's not on my iBook can't be located.
I want to make it so that when the external is not connected, my entire library (EXT and INT) is shown[obviously, I won't be able to play anything that resides on the EXT], and when I connect the EXT, I want it to locate the files that are external only.
I also want iTunes to keep my folders organized, there, that's the kicker.

Apr 16, 2009On linux I use "locate" to find anything via command line. I see that locate is installed on my Mac but invoking it does not always find what I am looking for I thought that maybe I need to update the database but $ sudo slocate -u gives me a command not found error. Is there a cool apple trick to finding files that I know are right in front of my face?

Nov 29, 2009BEFORE I started experiencing problems with my HD, a year or so ago, and before it crashed, I made this backup (see "GREY_USB"). At that time, I was using iMovie 06 to produce video DVD's for animations of clients' products and business plans. AFTER my system crashed (and a move to the other side of the planet!), I was finally able to have my Powerbook rebuilt and restored (see 3 attachments beginning "BLACKORANGE".)
Only after getting fully settled here, did I realise iMovie is apparently not installed....at least, not as far as I can tell. Some version of it may be on one of these USB flash drives, but it's been so long since I tinkered with any of this alchemy, I don't remember a flaming thing about how to go about checking. Is it possible to view only, without downloading anything, exactly what applications/data are on BOTH flash drives, then, IF the iMovie dmg is still on one of them, to install it?
I'd prefer not to install iMovie 08 unless that's all I have; the expense of having to fit Final Cut into the budget right now is absolutely out of the question. If you need more details or info, let me know. As my signature indicates: Powerbook G4, Mac OS X 10.4.11 w/Safari 4.04, iLife 08, occasionally running external LaCie HD (well, when I find it and unpack it).

Mar 23, 2012I use an iMac and recently upgraded to Lion OS. Everything was working fine, including Mail.
But the Hard Disk developed some hardware defect and I was forced to replace the hard disk with a new one. The service center added the new harddisk with OS 10.6.8 and now when I connect the old hard disk using USB connection (which is running 10.7) I am unable to find the Mail and Mail downloads folder in the library folder...
Is it because my machine is running on 10.6.8 and the hard disk is having 10.7?
