View 2 RepliesI am running 2 (early 08) Mac Pros in my studio but try as I might I can't get the two Eizo screens to look the same.
1st MP is 2 x3.2GHz Quad Core with 32 GB Ram and ATI Radeon HD4870 connected via DVI to an Eizo CG211 (Coloredge display).
2nd MP is 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core with14 GB Ram and NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT connect via DVI to an Eizo S2231W (Flexscan display).
The CG211 runs ColorNavigator, Eizo's in built calibration system, (described as hardware calibration) using a Datacolor Spyder 3 sensor.
The S2231W does not have hardware calibration and uses the same sensor Datacolor Spyder 3 and Datacolor's owner software Spyder3Elite 4.0.2.
I am pretty confident that I am running through the calibrations correctly. The ColorNavigator is idiot proof and I have created a similar target on the other machine Temp 6500K, Gamma 2.2, Brightness 90.
The Spyder3Elite is bringing back consistent results, consistent with previous calibrations, but just not the same as the other screen.
In general I would say that the FlexScan Spyder3Elite screen looks warmer (less blue) than the ColorEdge Screen.
They are next to each other on a long workbench so are under fairly similar lighting conditions.
I have spoken with Native Digital who sold me both screens, with Eizo and ColorData, but everyone is fairly unhelpful blaming each other's products and sometimes the graphics cards.
My ibook G4 (running leopard) has a battery that seems to drop from around 75% to the computer shutting down completely (ncluding loss of prefered wifi network) in literally the blink of an eye, with no warning. I have calibrated it. I tried running coconut battery to see its vitals and the program tells me crazy things like it can charge to 12666mAh which we all know is impossible. Any ideas at all? The apple info says it has around 206 cycles on it total. Do I need to just cough up and buy a new battery? I'm hoping not as I just got the computer used through the marketplace and the guy before said he was getting 2-3 hours still.

I am toying with the idea of moving from Windows PC to iMac, and am starting a bit of research on it.
Question - Can the monitor be successfully and easily calibrated? I currently have a Spyder3 Elite.
Why would a battery one day out of the box only be capable of charging to 6808mAH / 6900mAH? Could it just be a matter of the battery not being calibrated yet?
View 23 Replies View Relatedis this for real? I have just calibrated my battery, and it says the maximum battery capacity is 6800mAh (results from coconut battery and sys profiler). ive got a 16 month old 17inch MBP next to me which still has 12500mAh. also, my battery has gone down 7% in 12 minutes!

Also, the titles above the icons in the dock are black. In addition, all the menus from the different programs are black also. How to get the normal menu bar, etc. back.

Ever since owning the uMBP, I have kept the battery charged and monthly calibrate it to maintain a 100% battery health. But through this, the laptop limits its portability and it is sometimes extremely tedious to find a plug in order to use it. My question is: Is it really worth it to keep a good battery that will last overtime, or would you prefer simply purchasing a new battery when your old one dies? Also, how big of a difference does a healthy battery compare to a battery put through regular use?

Basically my DVD will no longer burn phots or music to disk. I have tried different disks but with no luck , all I get is a message along the lines of the burner is not calibrated.
The computer is a iMac PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.4.11 and the firmware listed for the burner is FA0G.
the reason i am here in this one to one conversation its because my ipod got stolen on a Wedsnday; to be exact February 15th. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.

Every now and then (every few days maybe), my macbook's display profile will switch from my good-looking calibrated profile to one of the really bad looking color profiles (which gives everything a nasty purple tint). This usually happens when the display is woken up, or when I switch from a fullscreen game back to the desktop.
When it does it, I can switch it back by going to system preferences > display > color and clicking the color profile I normally use, but having to do this is getting annoying.
I was trying different profiles for my external monitor (make and model in signature) and I noticed there were 2 identical profiles for Adobe RGB 1998 and sRGB 2.1.
I attached a screenshot of the system preference pane that shows up on my external display when I go to Displays.
Does it have to do with my external being attached? Maybe the main LCD has one of each profiles and the external display has another set?
I have a 9CD6 27" iMac and I was wondering if anyone had used a professional calibration device to produce a more accurate .icc profile.

The available paper types listed in the printing options are very limited and don't include options even for the range of papers sold by the printer manufacturer.
I have set up two profiles on my new IMac. I now want to access two different itunes accounts but when downloading the second account I get a message saying the computer is already set up with an apple id and if you download you cannot auto download !! for 90 days ??? I don't understand this.

I'd like to have my RGB values in Photoshop produce the same values in Keynote and Powerpoint. That is, I'd like to have the blue of my logo (128, 215, 236) appear identically in all three programs by typing the value into the color picker.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an external monitor to make a dual screen set up with my imac. So for the first time I am looking at the colour profiles. Would I be right in thinking that if I select profile "sRGB" on the external and "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" on the iMac then when I have the two screens side by side, the colours will match? I have using the Apple 'iMac' profile for two years and anything else just looks strange. What is the 'true' colour or is it just a matter of opinion? Which profile is nearest to real life?
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhat's happening here? Under Snow Leopard (this didn't happen before) when I change the profile of my MBP-screen the colors of my secondary monitor (BenQ G2400W) change randomly. This happens when using the topmost profile on the secondary screen. This means to me that I cannot use that profile because it's somehow multiplied with/overridden by the primary monitors profile. This topmost profile (named after the BenQ G2400W) happens to be the best (was in Leopard) so it's quite messed up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both share our iMac, and for ease of use we both have seperate profiles set up. This works great with programs like iMail, however, I have not figured out how to share the iTunes library across both profiles. If it helps, I do have an airport extreme with external hard drive..
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes my MBP will randomly "forget" it's color profile after waking up from sleep or screensaver. It doesn't happen very often, maybe less than once a month now. I know a few other people have had this problem, and as far as I know the issue is unresolved, with the solution being "go into display settings and it will change back" but there was nothing that could be done to prevent it from changing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know how you can backup your Time Capsule settings profiles? The reason I ask is because I am about to upgrade the HDD in mine and I do not want to lose the settings due to the complex setup of our network and the hours it took to set it up. Of course, I'm assuming here that the settings would be lost when changing the HDD and they are not stored in some other way? I have Googled but did not manage to find much useful info.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife & I share a Mac and each have our own profiles. We want to be able to share our iCal but we don't want to share bookmarks in Safari. If I correctly understand how iClowd works, we could use different Apple IDs and our bookmarks wouldn't share but we could't share calendars with this set up. If we use a shared Apple ID, we can share calendars but are bookmarks are also shared. Is there some way to share calendars but not bookmarks?
