In the prefs it has the ability to place links from other Apps into a new tab, but it appears the only way to do that within Safari is by CMD + click. Is there anyway to make anything clicked open in a new tab instead?

I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. This happens quite frequently on my mac book pro and my iphone.Is this normal? If I exit safari and restart, safari seems to be able to find the server or if I just click on a different saved bookmake and then go right back to the page it cannot find the server for, it works.

It was used very day until it stopped yesterday but I can access the site on my PC network no problem. Its only on my Mac network that it cannot be seen even though all other sites are accessed OK.
So for some reason my MacBook Pro is acting weird at my apartment. When I try to connect the the internet it always comes up as safari cannot open the window because safari cannot connect to the server. However when I run diagnostics it says my internet is working correctly. I can not open websites such as facebook, google, youtube, etc. But I can open Bing and Ask.com. I have cleared my catche, deleted cookies, tried reseting my router, and nothing works. But then when I go to school I can connect to the internet and all of the other websites fine. What is going on with my computer is there something I need to do with my router at home or what?

Very recently I keep getting the message 'Cannot verify certificate of server' on a great number of webpages on my mac,including this apple site.  This has been around the time of getting an iPhone, perhaps a coincidence?   I have never seen this message before. I press 'continue' however it's getting a bit annoying.Â
2. Also, since getting this message my facebook page cannot load properly on safari (mac). It comes up mis-aligned on the page, in times new roman font,  with no colour or logos/images. This is around the time of changing the password of my facebook account via my iPhone, again, not sure if this is a coincidence. I'm on snow leopard 10.6.8. Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange issue after upgrading to Leopard. When I try to open certain pages in Safari it instantly gives me the "Safari can?t find the server" message. When I try to open the same page in Firefox at the same time it opens normally. For many pages (like this one) Safari is working fine. My connection seems good and this is happening on reliable sites (currently Safari won't open apple.com).

Every now and then, when I type a URL into Safari, it loads a completely different site... For example, [URL].will load [URL].. This usually lasts for around 30 minutes or so, and then it goes back to normal. The URLs affected vary... right now, when I try to load [URL]., Safari loads an error page from Yahoo! (but the URL in the address bar is still [URL].). If I try to go directly to Gmail by typing in mail.google.com, Safari says "cannot connect to server". First off, when I try to go to a website, Safari will continuously load the website for about a minute, until the "Page cannot be displayed" or "Safari can't find the server" page comes up. Then, if I try to go to the website again, it works. Just like that. This happens up to twenty times daily. Also, if I try to view pictures on Google Images, it will not load all of them. I don't understand what the problem is. This has been happening for months now. Ever since I've upgraded to Safari 5, it's ten times worse. I can't explain why Safari does this. I have a 2.53 Ghz, 4GB RAM, and 250GB MacBook Pro (2009). I haven't even had the laptop for a year. I have Internet security on my Mac (Intego), but don't know if that could contribute to the problem.

Safari regularly gives me error that I'm not connected to internet/can't find server. I've gotten so fed up I've downloaded Firefox and don't have the issue with Firefox. The present server is the Primary DNS serving several web sites (some of which is running MySQL databases). I have the luxury that we've bought 2 new Xserves last year, but due to time constraints, I haven't time until now to seriously consider the steps to this daunting task. We're also currently using a linux box for the firewall (it does no routing, just iptables rules). I want to migrate away from this also and utilize either Apple's firewall or a router. Is there anything out there on the web that will help me in this process? I'm terrified of messing up the production environment, especially since the Xserve is our DNS.
