I have been browsing the WWW for information on the Hard Drive Tray in a Mac Pro. I cannot locate the dimensions of the tray or locations and spacing of the hard drive mounts.
View 2 RepliesI recently dropped my MBP retina, luckily it still runs smoothly. The only drawback is; about a centimetre of the display on the right of the screen is out of commission. Is there a way to adjust the display so that the broken part of the screen is ignored? Or in simpler words, reduce or shrink the width of my screen by a centimetre.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought this MacBook on eBay a week or so ago, it's showing as ~8 weeks old right now and it was new in box with all the wrappings when I first bought it. I haven't used the SuperDrive at all until today when I installed Microsoft Office and the Garage Band sound pack. I'm positive I didn't cause this damage; one because I have taken care of this MacBook like it was my baby, and two because I don't see how this would have been possible by me. The picture is kinda hard to see, sorry it was difficult to try and get a good steady shot of it. I'm clueless as of what to do about this.

When I right click and goto More Info, the dimensions for 90% of them aren't there. Is their a program that can do this easily? I'm trying to keep the aspect ratio when I convert movies. I have Adobe Premier Pro and even that doesn't give me the dimensions for some of them.

Has anyone been able to print to CD's on Epson r320 when I try to print to the CD tray, I get an error message saying the CD tray is open and the job is automatically stopped. I found the new printer drivers for Intel machines on Epson's site and installed them. and even up dated the drivers by apple.com site . but it just keeps giving the same error and in the choose media type box , it wouldnt allow my to choose dvd/cd.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 2.0ghz unibody macbook, and i installed windows xp on the boot camp partition, installed drivers, up until here everything was working fine.. i decided it would be a good idea to upgrade to bootcamp 2.1 and then suddenly the boot camp icon in my system tray went away,
and so did the nvidia panel and the sound no longer worked.. now im stuck and i have no sound. I tried reinstalling the drivers using the cd and it still doesnt work.. also when i remove my headphones there is a red light coming from the jack.. how do i get my sound back?
I am working on a photobook for a family wedding. One photo shows the groom in full and wanted to place this photo in the book. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a few pictures I took with my digital camera and I want to print them and put them in a frame that is 11.5cm * 7.7cm. So, I need to adjust their size to print them that size.
I don't have a colour printer, so I'm printing off a library computer in colour, so I can't print them directly off my mac. I'm going to need to transfer them on a usb and open them in windows on a library computer. The pictures are in .JPG format since I uploaded them.
-So I went to Preview (program) and Tools > Adjust size.
-I typed in 7.7cm for width and it gave me a locked length of 11.1cm as that would probably keep the pictures proportionate. I'm alright with that.
But then, when I look at my picture, it's much smaller that the actual dimensions of 7.7cm. Then when I zoom in, it is pixelated. That'd odd because I'm actually reducing the dimensions of my picture.
How do I adjust their size so they print to 11.1 cm 7.7 cm?
the reason i am here in this one to one conversation its because my ipod got stolen on a Wedsnday; to be exact February 15th. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.

my first question is: where can I get a quick start to "take control" of my brand new used G5 late '05 2.3 dual core Power Mac? I'm accustomed to going to device manager to check on things, update or disable drivers, partition, reformat, set selective start-up, you know; all that. I bookmarked something like Switch 101 and am left shy of the depths I wish to go.
I've fiddled with an acquaintance's MacBook Pro and found it somewhat intuitive, so navigation in and around the apps won't be too difficult to switch over to but how can I do something like pick and choose what I want to show up in my task bar or whatever the Macquivalent is.
And secondly, F12 opens the Dashboard not the DVD tray. Option F12 doesn't help. Unless I need to literally "hold F12 until the open tray appears..." or something like that. That hasn't worked either.
I'm sure I won't regret the switch. I've been threatening to for the last three or four years; five of which is my level of PC-ing.
I spilt coffee on my keyboard and after cleaning it the "space bar" will not work and the "Z" key sticks, so I am now using an old iMac keyboard that doesn't have a Volume or Eject button. So how do I open the DVD tray ?
is there an icon that can be place up the top right hand corner like the volume control ?

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy CD tray is stuck in my powermac G5, I keep pressing the button to eject it on my keyboard but nothing happens, I've tried restarting it. Unfortunately there isn't a CD in the drive so I can't drag the icon to the trash which is what the apple support site said, but I just want to open the drive to put a CD in? All the keys on my keyboard work fine except that bloody eject button. Its one of the older keyboards, not the flat ones that you get now, its the version before that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust today, my TSST DVD writer tray will not stay closed during or after booting my G5. The "Eject" key will operate it normally, but a few seconds after I close it the tray will open again... and stay open. Same thing happens if I manually close it. No disc is in the tray. This problem is 100% repeatable. I reset the PRAM in my G5. I have "Patchburn v 4.0.5" software for the TSST CDDVDW SH-S222L installed, and I re-installed it but with no effect on the problem.

For future reference: what is the best way to get open the CD tray (if installer disc needs to be put in) if your system won't boot? I thought I would ask in case this situation arises. I'm not using a Mac keyboard and there is no eject button on my keyboard. It's a G4 with mirrored doors but I don't see any buttons to eject the tray.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been looking and looking and couldn't find anything. The DVD tray is stuck in the open position and won't retract. When I hit the eject button, it moves like it's trying, but only travels about 1/4". I tried gently nudging it in, and that didn't work, so then I tried a bit firmer and combos of that plus tilting it. Nothing's working.
Also, I figured that maybe it just crapped out on me, so I'd get a new one, but I don't think you can get the drive out if the tray is open, because you just pull the housing straight out, right?
I've searched the forums pretty thoroughly, but no one has listed these exact symptoms.
I've got a PowerPC G5 running 10.4. After four years of dedicated service, my Superdrive gave out, so I bought a Sony drive (SONY DVD RW DRU-842A in profiler) to replace it.
Here's the trouble:
Any time the machine goes to sleep with a disc in the drive, it won't eject when I wake it up. I have to restart, then eject. Other than that, the drive works beautifully. If this question has been answered elsewhere, please redirect me there, sorry for the repost.
Speaking of sleep, when I put the machine to sleep through the menu it goes fully to sleep (no fan/other noise). But when it goes to sleep on its own, I can still hear the machine churning away. My roomate has a newer Mac Pro that doesn't do this.
I am looking for a keyboard tray. I need one that will attach to the bottom of a wooden (or fake wood possibly) ikea desk. I don't care about ergonomics, I just want my keyboard a few inches lower (and hiding it away will be nice) to fit the aluminum apple keyboard w/ numeric pad and possibly a mouse.
