I am not new to the Grab utility and have used it many times before, but as of just a little while a go I have captured a screen, but when I try and save it the save button is blocked out. I would really appreciate some help with this.
View 3 RepliesSometimes (very rarely, but it does occur) I need to press the F1 button or F8 or another "f" button. However, as we all know, apple has placed really nice (I really like them) shortcuts for widgets, expose, volume, play/pause etc. So when I press that button (say F8) the music starts playing. So how do I "press it right". Do I need to press another button with it. Or is it preferences.

(Extended Journaled and in security options changed it to zero out data). I can now use it on the Mac how ever it is telling me that there is 54.1 MB of used space. I want to have access to this. How do I do it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBought a used 4 TB Seagate drive, formatted it , checked the speed 150 MB/s read/write and made a partition. Apparently it worked perfect.
However after this first partition the drive is behaving erratically. I can not modify partitions anymore nor delete them. Repair disk is not finding any problem either from the system or from the recovery partition.
I am starting to believe the disk is damaged. Beside the partition problem the disk is behaving fine.

How to force the Preview utility to use JPG as the default format on the Save operation?

I seem to have lost the ability to save to, or open documents from, iCloud (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote). When I try to open a file I get the following box: URL....There is no iCloud option. Same for when I am trying to save. I am signed into iCloud. I have checked Documents & Data and each iWork app. How do I get my iCloud stuff back?

I am trying to 'Erase free space' using the disk utility on my macbook. I have read that you can choose to 'overwrite with zeros' via the 'Security options' tab. However, my 'security options' tab is grayed out (see pic below). Please can you tell me how I can access the 'security options' and therefore free the disk space and overwrite with zeros??

I would do it through the application menu by going Safari>Services>Grab but on all the programs, this option is greyed out and i can't access grab through that menu.
View 11 Replies View RelatedIm having problems executing a successful screen grab on my iMac.Ive always used Shift+Cloverleaf+4 to select a portion of the screen and then get a snapshot, and that still seems to work because im hearing the photosnap sound.The problem occurs when i go to paste this captured selection, nothing happens. On linux you can hold down "alt" then click anywhere on a window and the cursor becomes a "hand" so you can grab and move a window around. It makes it easier especially on a laptop so you don't have to move the cursor up to the border.

I restarted the service and then the server. Then I reset the DHCP Client list.I turned on a computer lab so that they would all grab a new address.... none of them did. I have my doubt in how to grab all the messages I have in my mails in this migration. I have like 2000 mails from several years that I store in the mail of my MacBook. I can't imagine if the Migration assistant just pass my documents and won't grab my flagged mails in the MacBook Pro . The migration didn't still runnig so I'm not sure what is going to be after all end. By the way I do this with a USB connection frim one to the other. Is any body know about my inquirie of the mails?

I used to be able to grab a portion of a web page or a document by pressing command shift 4. That no longer works for me, though command shift 3 does work.I can us the Grab app of course but that's a bit more cumbersome. Am using 10.9.3 on a late 2013 iMac.

I have a 500 gig music library and hundreds of playlists etc, so I'd hate to have to reinstall iTunes and lose all that. Is that what would happen if I reinstalled iTunes? I have Time Machine hooked up. Could I go into that and grab an iTunes prefs file from before the crash, and put that in the current system folder? Would that be something to try?

Now I can't get rid of them. I've tried dragging them to the trash, clicking on them, trying to find them in the Finder. Nada. Nothing. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. When I clicked on one of them the entire machine froze and I had to turn the power off to get it to start up again.
My IMac won't grab disks in the superdrive, spits them straight out, is there anything I can try before taking it for repairs. It is two years old so is out of warranty.

I see it in the Hardware>disk burning section clearly showing it is being seen, of course with , Media: No [URL] to this thread, Ettor was able to get it working with some sort of software tweak, which may or not may not apply to my Cube system .
Only thing im not positive about , is if my HD is set to master or slave, but I imagine if it weren't right in combo with the Optical drive, then hardware list would not be showing it at all ?
Since I switched to the new operating system, my Grab selections are not printing to the correct scale. They are printing too wide, so instead of one page the selection is printing on two.
