Software :: Grab Put Screen Shots In Dashboard Not Found?
Nov 24, 2009I used GRAB to grab a couple of maps off of mapquest. I couldn't find them afterwards and I discovered they were in dashboard. Wierd??
Now I can't get rid of them. I've tried dragging them to the trash, clicking on them, trying to find them in the Finder. Nada. Nothing. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. When I clicked on one of them the entire machine froze and I had to turn the power off to get it to start up again.

Sep 25, 2009I could have sworn that, somewhere, it's possible to select whether screen grab saves as PNG, JPEG etc. I can't find that option anywhere now. I know you can convert it in Preview, but that's no good. Am I losing my mind??

My problem is that I've been saving the images from both my products websites and Google images and I've been creating the listing info for each product in word documents but all the images in the docs are in picture clipping format. Sep 2, 2010One thing I hate about the new 10.6.4 is that the names of Screen shots are a block and a half long... as they include that day and time..fair enough, but many dialog boxes in BB's where I want to post some screen shots trunciate that making finding it a time consuming thing. before it simply said screen shot and a number...anyway I can go back to that method/system that does not require a PHD in computer programing. I have googled it, and there are things about writing 'scripts' etc... (that loses me completely...anyone know an easier method... (and when apple change things like this, why dont they give the option to use the old ways...?

Dec 12, 2014I'm a drummer and use a few different camera's to record my drumming. I have one camera capable of recording 720p or 1080p, but my other 2 only shoot 480p. I want export the whole video after editing in all the different shots, at 1080p or 720p. My problem is, the camera's that shoot 480p, have a border around them, so can I fill in that border somehow?

Sep 28, 2006I use grab quite a lot on my ibook g4, but to get to it i have to open up preview and go through file>grab which is annoying. I would do it through the application menu by going Safari>Services>Grab but on all the programs, this option is greyed out and i can't access grab through that menu.

On linux you can hold down "alt" then click anywhere on a window and the cursor becomes a "hand" so you can grab and move a window around. It makes it easier especially on a laptop so you don't have to move the cursor up to the border.

May 29, 2012I buy the new iMac with i7 and I'm running a migration using the assistant from MacBook Pro to the new one. I have my doubt in how to grab all the messages I have in my mails in this migration. I have like 2000 mails from several years that I store in the mail of my MacBook. I can't imagine if the Migration assistant just pass my documents and won't grab my flagged mails in the MacBook Pro . The migration didn't still runnig so I'm not sure what is going to be after all end. By the way I do this with a USB connection frim one to the other. Is any body know about my inquirie of the mails?

Nov 5, 2009I'm running Snow Leopard on my new Macbook Pro. I've got a 1.5TB External hard drive that I'm trying to figure out how to format in HFS+ with Apple Partition Map. I can figure out how to format in HFS using Disk Utility, however it still does it in GUID format and I do not know how to do it in Apple Partition Map.
Googleing this for hours has lead with all kinds of information on how to go to GUID FROM Apple Partition Map but not the other way around. I know GUID is the new hottness.. but this drive will be used exclusively to connect to my XBOX 360 and it supposedly only reads HFS+ when its formatted with Apple Partition Map. (I have tried it with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID, and the XBOX does NOT recognize it) I do not want to use Fat 32, (I know that that is the other major option) beacuse it limits file size.
Software :: ITunes Won't Open - Grab Prefs File?
Nov 13, 2009I was doing several things at once on my iMac (ripping a DVD, on iChat video, etc) and my mac crashed. Now it won't open iTunes. I have a 500 gig music library and hundreds of playlists etc, so I'd hate to have to reinstall iTunes and lose all that. Is that what would happen if I reinstalled iTunes? I have Time Machine hooked up. Could I go into that and grab an iTunes prefs file from before the crash, and put that in the current system folder? Would that be something to try?
