Software :: Grab Put Screen Shots In Dashboard Not Found?
Nov 24, 2009
I used GRAB to grab a couple of maps off of mapquest. I couldn't find them afterwards and I discovered they were in dashboard. Wierd??
Now I can't get rid of them. I've tried dragging them to the trash, clicking on them, trying to find them in the Finder. Nada. Nothing. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. When I clicked on one of them the entire machine froze and I had to turn the power off to get it to start up again.
One thing I hate about the new 10.6.4 is that the names of Screen shots are a block and a half long... as they include that day and time..fair enough, but many dialog boxes in BB's where I want to post some screen shots trunciate that making finding it a time consuming thing. before it simply said screen shot and a number...anyway I can go back to that method/system that does not require a PHD in computer programing. I have googled it, and there are things about writing 'scripts' etc... (that loses me completely...anyone know an easier method... (and when apple change things like this, why dont they give the option to use the old ways...?
Is it possible to change the destination that your screen shots are sent? I don't like to clutter my desktop with images etc., would much rather send the pictures to a folder elswhere
Control Shift Command 4 copies a picture of screen selection to the clipboard. The command works to paste the picture in any program except Mail. Paste does nothing. Is this a bug in Mail? Using SL on MacBook Pro.
I have discovered that my Mac running OS X v. 10.7.3 is storing a screenshot about every 5 minutes while the computer is actively used. I cannot find anything in the Activity Monitor that looks out of place.
I was wondering if there was a way to take a screen shot/screen grab ect. movies on mac? Because I wanted to put it as my desktop and take a few and just have them alternating.
Im having problems executing a successful screen grab on my iMac.Ive always used Shift+Cloverleaf+4 to select a portion of the screen and then get a snapshot, and that still seems to work because im hearing the photosnap sound. The problem occurs when i go to paste this captured selection, nothing happens. I cant paste it in photoshop, email, or anywhere for that matter.
I could have sworn that, somewhere, it's possible to select whether screen grab saves as PNG, JPEG etc. I can't find that option anywhere now. I know you can convert it in Preview, but that's no good. Am I losing my mind??
for some reason the grab application on my computer is simply not working. i can not take pictures, i've tried to press the shift-option-3, but it is just not doing anything. i'll open grab up and go to 'capture' and then 'screen' and it won't do anything. it won't take a picture at all.
I put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files.
Suddenly I find that when I right click all my dashboard widgets appear on screen. I would like to revert to the system where I could right click and then choose things like attach, save etc etc.
I had a MacKeeper icon pop up on my dashboard and my screen tell me I needed to get this to clean up my Mac Pro and protect it from viruses. It looked legit because I wondered how it got onto my dashboard. I installed it but when I moved through the steps it then listed a price which I thought was suspicious. When I googled it many responses said it was a fraud. What can any of you in the community tell me about MacKeeper. If it's a fraud, how do I uninstall it. I tried dropping it in the trash, but it popped out.
I used to have both on the screen at the same time, but now its as if the screen is too big and I have to move the mouse down to access the dashboard and then up again to access the menu bar.
Feature request for combining the new presented notification center widgets and the old dashboard widgets and its designated space with the special F4 key.
Feature request to consider turning the old dashboard into a fullscreen notification center with multiple columns and grid-based resizing of widgets.
Let users decide what the launchpad/dashboard/F4 key would act like.
The upper right corner notification center button. One click for sidebar, two clicks for full screen notifications center.
Right now the old dashboard is pretty much useless with its ancient widgets. And launchpad is rather useless with the new Yosemite Spotlight.
I've recently deleted my Windows side on Bootcamp and when ever I start my Mac up, it goes into this black screen saying "No CD found, press any key to exit" or something and I have to press alt everytime I boot my Mac up to avoid going into that mode.
I'm a drummer and use a few different camera's to record my drumming. I have one camera capable of recording 720p or 1080p, but my other 2 only shoot 480p. I want export the whole video after editing in all the different shots, at 1080p or 720p. My problem is, the camera's that shoot 480p, have a border around them, so can I fill in that border somehow?
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), 2.2ghz i7 quad-core
I use grab quite a lot on my ibook g4, but to get to it i have to open up preview and go through file>grab which is annoying. I would do it through the application menu by going Safari>Services>Grab but on all the programs, this option is greyed out and i can't access grab through that menu.
Is there a way to "grab" and move a window without having to move the cursor to the borders? On linux you can hold down "alt" then click anywhere on a window and the cursor becomes a "hand" so you can grab and move a window around. It makes it easier especially on a laptop so you don't have to move the cursor up to the border.
After I updated to 10.5.7 I experienced a few issues. First of all, after the initial update I restarted the computer than I got a black screen that said "No bootable disk found" or something along those lines, this was fixed after 4 restarts. Also after the update i experienced problems while trying to browse the internet. Some pages would load, but others, like google, and theMacrumors "forums" page, wouldn't load completely. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced issues like this or anything similar.
When I take a screen shot, it automatically makes it save as a .PNG file with is too big to post on the web in most cases. I was wondering if there's a setting I can adjust to make it default save as a .JPEG image. Thank you!Edit; I thought I remembered being able to do such a thing in Tiger somewhere but now I am running Leopard and can't find anything.
I am able to buy a bigger hard drive, but I'm wondering if it should be external or internal. If I bought an internal, what is the best kind to get, and how would I install it?If I got an external, which is the best one to get?
