Nov 5, 2009Since I upgraded to SL and Safari 4, when I click on a download link a new window opens up with nothing in it and the download does start. I have to right click and hit Download file.

Feb 24, 2012On a couple, but not all, of my financial institutions webpages, I can't download the statements and save them as pdf. When I click the pdf link, a page opens showing the statement, but to see it all, one has to scroll the screen. When I try to print it, by clicking File on the toolbar, the pulldown menu gives me only the option of Print Largest Frame which prints only what is visible on the screen in the window. When I try to save by going to File, then Save As, a window opens for print options giving me two format choices: Page Source (html) or Web Archive, but no pdf. The statements never download, nor open as pdf.Â
What is odd, is that this issue is not common to all financial institutions. On some, the statements read, load, save, and print as pdf just fine. I have updated the Adobe Reader, and all software on my Mac.Â

May 18, 2012LInks within webpages don't work. Currently I am running OSX 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7. Have cleared the cache in the attempt to click on Download. The one site that has been a issue is MS Skydrive.live.com. On the right side they have a Download link...it does not work correctly (no download).Looking for idea why it does not work.

Safari :: Visited Download Links Don't Change Color (but Do In FireFox)
Jul 5, 2012I have a mass amount of files to download listed on a Web page. When I click the link, the file downloads, but the link on my downloads page never changes colors to note that the link has been visited. Â
Is this a bug and is there a work around for my HTML page? Currently I'm using javascript to change link colors.
OS X :: Safari (PithHelmet Error Message)
Jun 18, 2009I've had PithHelmet installed on the older version of Safari, but since I've updated to 4.0 it no longer works. So I've tried to uninstall PithHelmet from my Mac by deleting the "PithHelmet" folder located in /Library/Application Supports/, but nothing seems to happen - I still get this pop-up message whenever I launch Safari. I have tried re-installing Safari but I get the same problems!

Apr 5, 2012Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

Jul 13, 2010I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

Nov 13, 2010Some download links on the internet are re-direct links ie you can't right click to save link as (such as on the apple site for itunes 10.1) for some reason on both safari and firefox with these links it just loads the page and no download dialog box opens, i've disabled pop up blockers on both but it still seems not to work, what am i doing wrong? Apr 11, 2010I just downloaded Magnifique 2.1 for my Mac (Macbook, 13-inch, 2 gigs of RAM, Mac OS X 10.5). As soon as I open the application, I get an error message saying this:

The downloadable theme gallery won't show as well. This same message appears if I try to search for any themes and appears every time I type a letter or two into the search bar in the application. Is there any way to fix this? I have tried re-installation but it doesn't work.

Dec 1, 2014I recently ran a ‘verify’ scan in Disk Utility as a precaution after Word crashed. An ‘incorrect number of file links’ error message showed up, as well as a prompt to repair this using Disk Utility from the Recovery HD. However, when I do a scan from the Recovery HD version of Disk Utility, no error messages or repair prompts appear.
My questions… Is this something to be concerned about? How can it be fixed? Would it be best to do a clean install of OSX? I only lost a little bit of data so I was pretty lucky.

App Store :: Not Allowed To Download Previously Purchased App (Unknown Error, Error -4)?
May 1, 2012Trying to re-install Twitter from the Mac App Store. When I click "install" I get a prompt to type in my Apple ID (pre-filled with jonas.clement@hotmail.com; NOT ME). When I type my correct Apple ID and password in I get an "Error -4" message followed by "Unknown Error" message. Â
I have NO clue who jonas.clement@hotmail.com is. My account has not been hacked (at least no unauthorized purchases have been made). Â When I view my previously purchased apps, I see the whole list, Twitter, included...but I can't seem to download it. Â

I was trying to install windows on my pro, and i had bootcamp chop the hard disk in half, but then my disk drive didnt read the cd so i had to download and install some file. and after i restarted i could no longer access the windows side, it just disappeared.....plus i cannot reset my hard disk, cant erase it, and i cant reinstall OS X because there is no memory left..
Intel Mac :: Left Half Of The Screen Would Flick And Become Darker Than The Lower Half?
Jun 21, 2012At the beginning of last year I bought a 3.2GHz 27" iMac. About a month ago I noticed that, within about 5 minutes of starting my computer back up from sleep the left half of the screen would flick and become darker than the lower half (about 4 clicks of the light button lower). Sometimes the screen will flick to become even darker than this (but usually it returns to the 4 clicks darker after a short while), and sometimes it returns to normal only to go darker again.
