I am trying to access the Apple Support Downloads page and somehow I am getting an Apple page with 404-error message. Is someone experiencing the same thing?

I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I have just purchased a Macbook pro and have just seen on the Apps icon on the screen that I have 2 updates available, one for garageband and the other for iphoto. I tried logging in using my apple ID username and password but I keep getting an error message stating: "You have updates available for other accounts. To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it." I googled the apple ID error and it led me to the apple support side where I could find out if I had multiple apple ID's linked to the same email address.
It came back with 3 accounts linked to my email address. I have found the username's for all 3 accounts and changed the passwords to all the same and then tried to log in to Apps on the macbook but can't seem to do it. I was wondering if it's possible to delete Apple ID's so I only have one account. What I have noticed is that when using my iphone the old app's I have to log into my old Apple ID to download up-dates, whereas the newer apps on my phone I have to use my email address as the username.

I've had PithHelmet installed on the older version of Safari, but since I've updated to 4.0 it no longer works. So I've tried to uninstall PithHelmet from my Mac by deleting the "PithHelmet" folder located in /Library/Application Supports/, but nothing seems to happen - I still get this pop-up message whenever I launch Safari. I have tried re-installing Safari but I get the same problems!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to transition my father to OSX on a new iMac. I've tried several times to get him to commit to getting Internet but he is just not going to. However it would be useful to get the tutorial videos on Apple's Support pages for him to follow as he learns, iWork in particular, but other tasks as well. I've shown them to him in the AppleStore and he seems to like them as a method of instruction. Apple however has changed its method of streaming the video, I can't download them anymore using QuickTime and you can't access them via the Safari > Activity menu either. Why Apple is making it hard to get something they seem to want us to have, seems strange to me. How do you download the tutorials? I'd like to put them on a Flassh Drive for Dad to use at home.Â

Wanted to see the new GetAMac ads, so I headed over to [URL:..] as I always do. But in the field where I am supposed to be able to click on the videos, there is nothing! It's not so much because I wanna see the ads, but this page is supposed to work. See the attached picture for clarification. I have tried to reset Safari completely, and I also tried to view the page in FireFox. I also tried to reinstall Adobe Flash player. It doesn't help, it's all the same. My GF has a PC with Windows. On her machine, in Safari it works as it should. But in FireFox on her machine, it's not working (like both browsers on my mac).

I get this error message when attempting to use AutoFill for signing into online accounts such as Amazon. I know that AutoFill uses information from Address Book to fill out the form - that's why I have a card in Address Book with my name and email address on it - but I'm still getting this error message when attempting to use AutoFill.

I have tried restoring from TM backup from recovery mode (worked the last time this happened) however upon completion it returns to the recovery screen? I made a disk of Lion when I downloaded the first time (followed same instructions sourced from numerous websites) which does not seem to work when i set to start up from this disk, just gets to the grey screen and flicks between the apple logo, a folder icon with a question mark and the circle with line through? Now I can't eject the disk either, a message appears that system can't eject and to make sure all applications are closed? Not sure how to go about closing these applications without being able to start the system? When I tried booting from the Macintosh HD I got a message that the boot cache partition was faulty? I have ran disk permissions etc all ok. Â

Every time Safari or Firefox, or any other application crashes or I have to force it to quit, I get an error report and when I click to send it to Apple I get a message saying it failed and cannot send to Apple. Anyone know what's going on? I have a Macbook pro (15 inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009).Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded Magnifique 2.1 for my Mac (Macbook, 13-inch, 2 gigs of RAM, Mac OS X 10.5). As soon as I open the application, I get an error message saying this:
