i add links cmd+N than i past links cmd+V and than i want to confirm/add this link to my download queue with shortcut so i dont need to take my hands away from keyboard, grab a mouse and than click it. the add button seems to be highlighted but when i press enter/return it does not add links. the only way i have found so far is to click it with mouse.

For example, I have a Face named "Christine" with numerous photos of Christine already confirmed. I also have numerous photos shown in the section "Christine may also be in the photos below".
I've got a real odd problem with safari 4. For some reason it is cutting my download speeds in about 1/2 from my server and many other places.
If I restart safari I will be able to download close to my 18 Mbps for a little bit but then it will just start to slow down and after about 30 minutes it will be down to about 6 - 8 Mbps.
Some download links on the internet are re-direct links ie you can't right click to save link as (such as on the apple site for itunes 10.1) for some reason on both safari and firefox with these links it just loads the page and no download dialog box opens, i've disabled pop up blockers on both but it still seems not to work, what am i doing wrong? I know i could use software updates but i want to re-install the programs so that won't work

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis very fast and very expensive new video card for my Dual Core Powermac G5 doesn't seem to be speeding anything up for me. Is this because the graphics cards on PM G5's still rely on the CPU or something? It still stutters when I'm playing back certain video online.

I generally get about 700kbs download speed, which is what my ISP (Sky uk) tells me I SHOULD have, but they also tell me that my router upload speed should be similar and it's not anywhere close to it.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI need to find a better download management application than Speed Download. Whenever I run speed, and download more than one file at a time, my memory usage skyrockets and maxes out. System runs VERY sluggish, and i basically can't use my MBP until downloads are done.
I checked on the internet, but none of the download links were valid, all expired. I had the whole of Preview on my desktop, instead of an alias, and I accidentally deleted it. So could someone please send me it using an online download link (I don't want to get out my installation disk).

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn a couple, but not all, of my financial institutions webpages, I can't download the statements and save them as pdf. When I click the pdf link, a page opens showing the statement, but to see it all, one has to scroll the screen. When I try to print it, by clicking File on the toolbar, the pulldown menu gives me only the option of Print Largest Frame which prints only what is visible on the screen in the window. When I try to save by going to File, then Save As, a window opens for print options giving me two format choices: Page Source (html) or Web Archive, but no pdf. The statements never download, nor open as pdf.
What is odd, is that this issue is not common to all financial institutions. On some, the statements read, load, save, and print as pdf just fine. I have updated the Adobe Reader, and all software on my Mac.

LInks within webpages don't work. Currently I am running OSX 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7. Have cleared the cache in the attempt to click on Download. The one site that has been a issue is MS Skydrive.live.com. On the right side they have a Download link...it does not work correctly (no download).Looking for idea why it does not work.

I have a mass amount of files to download listed on a Web page. When I click the link, the file downloads, but the link on my downloads page never changes colors to note that the link has been visited.
Is this a bug and is there a work around for my HTML page? Currently I'm using javascript to change link colors.
I'm using Data Rescue III on a USB powered hard drive with and it's taking a very long time with my iMac G5... It says 42,291 hours remaining (about 5 years) If I did it on my Mac Pro would it go faster, or is the recovery speed based on the hard drive speed?

I am trying to download a file off the internet, but my download speed is only 12 kb/s on average (Sometimes it will go up to 13 and sometimes down to 9). I have every application that could be using internet turned off and still no help. I have also set my utorrent to unlimited download speed but it still stays on 12! I have a good router so i don't think thats the problem. What am i doing wrong? Is there a program i can use to speed it up?

Last week on my pc the download speeds would vary from 2 to 12 Mbs per second depending on conditions. Now on the iMac I am lucky to get .5 to 1 mbs. Could some longtime Mac user share a few tips on network settings to improve my ftp downloads?? I ran the speed test on my Comcast support site... and it showed my download speed as 23Mbs.

I'm running the macbook pro 2,3 GHz intel core i5 version 10.6.8. Me and my friend are on the same wifi connection, but his macbook (thats 1 year older than mine) downloads 10 times faster. I'm getting around 0.24 Mbps while my friend gets around 1,8 Mbps. My internet is really slow and I have trouble opening a lot of internet sites. I wonder if ive done something to my settings so that the download limit is limited or something.

I got my new aluminum macbook today, it is my first mac. on my pc i used utorrent, and i am currently *attempting* to use limewire for torrents on my mac.. the problem is that even though there is a download speed, single digit kb/s, there is no progression.. the torrents are still at 0% . if someone can help me work it through limewire, or suggest a different app to use for torrents.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt started 2 months ago, ever since I got my machine back from the top case being replaced. I've had some Airport problems, the first thing is distance. I used to be able to go all over the place in the house and it worked. It says I have a full signal strength, but it's it and miss on it working from my living room (which is really only 3 rooms away with not very thick walls). I used to be able to sit in the living room and work on my computer for hours, but like I said it's it and miss on the connection. One minute it's working the next it's not.
Another room that seems to be the bedroom, which basically 2 rooms away but can see the router down the hall thing. The bedroom door opens to those two rooms. Here it works, but I sometimes have to wait up to 3 or 4 minutes the web page to come up. Safari 5.02 is the worse compared to Fire Fox.
My download speeds have decreased as well, my top download speed is 160k/sec but lately it's been 140k-120k/sec.
Now that I have giving you too much information, do you think it might be the MacBook or the Router. When they where putting the new top case on it could they moved the Airport antenna somehow. OR should I reinstall Mac OS X thinking that might fix the problem.
I am a new Mac user. I bought a 27" iMac today to replace a dead PC. My download speeds are AWFUL on the Mac. While using the PC, my maximum download speed on a 6 mbit connection was over 850kb/sec. Now, with the mac, I can barely manage 250K/sec downloads. I am using all the same equipment and cables as before (not using the wireless, and I have it disabled), and if I plug in another PC into my router, it will get the 850+kb/sec download speeds, no problem at all. Is there a setting somewhere that I can change to get things working properly? Poor speeds occur no matter what program I am downloading from, whether it be Safari, FTP, or whatever. I just installed parallels, with windows, and I can download at my old speeds. How do I do it in native Mac mode then?

Then this morning my download speed plummeted to about 15 kb/s. I have tried everything to fix this and have found no solution. The problem is in both firefox and safari. I am using wireless network for internet.

I am downloading the update for BFBC 2 on xbox atm, and it has taken me half an hour to do 14% and it took my mate (who lives about 10 min walk away from me) about 20 mins to complete the whole thing...
The download is only 400MB
