I recently downloaded adobe reader. Now I deleted but I can't open pdf in safari. It's fully loaded but can't be opened. How can I change safari pdf reader back to preview as default?

I currently own the latest edition of the Macbook Pro 17" that I've fully max'd out for ram after purchasing it. I use Adobe Premier CS4 for editing 1080p and 720p video. The Macbook Pro really can't keep up, making my editing hard to accomplish quickly, especially when rendering a video. It plays the video choppy when editing, which makes editing really hard to accomplish, obviously. It will do it, otherwise, with no problems, other than being slow as molasses when rendering. My question is should I get a IMac 27" fully loaded or a comparable Mac Pro, and what would be the benefits of one or the other for my application/use? I usually have PhotoShop, Premier, Mail, & Chrome open nearly all the time, and I want something that will smoothly play 1080p video when editing the movie and can render the video much quicker than my MBP.

The page only show website menu bar & the ad..This happen to both chrome and safari. Other website have no problem. My friend running on the same network didn't have this issue as mind. Furthur more my new ipad having the same problem on only this website , runing on 3G.

I took my laptop in yesterday because there was dust inside the screen and they replaced the whole screen and top. However, it now pops open when I pick it up. I'm a student, so it gets carried all over the place in my backpack and I can't have it popping open all the time. It's not upside down or anything, its just when I pick it up. I am leaving to go back to school in a week and I can't drive the 1.5 hours back to the mall again. What can I do? Duct tape?
Also, if I have a campus authorized retailer, can they do repairs?
I just bought a new MacBook Pro and for some reason, I can't use the space bar to immediately open spring loaded folders. I have checked the Finder preferences and everything seems to be in order.

Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed." I have used the Help menu to list the installed plug-ins and there are only 2 x-java- plug-ins listed. Where do I get the missing plug in and how do I load it into Safari?

Anyways, he's having problems with the LCD that when he opens it all the way the LCD turns off. Any ideas for DIY fix? He also wants to know if he can add Wi-Fi?
I have a 2.2Ghz MacBook recently out of warranty, and now the backlight turns off when the lid is fully open. it's fine till about 55-60 degs but i can't open it more than that, backlight goes off. at a certain angle i can wiggle the screen and watch the backlight flicker on-and-off. if it opens too far, closing it to about 35-40 degs turns the backlight on again. then i can nudge it up to 60 deg again. the working angle also seems to be more acute when the mb has just been woken up, the backlight turns off at around 40 deg. but after it's been awake for a while i can open it up a bit further.
so anyway, i read this issue is quite common with the rev.d macbooks due to an inferior display cable used so i opened it up, using the iFixit.com guides, hoping to see something obvious i could fix but everything looked ok. i stopped short of removing the LCD from the top cover, but had a look at the inverter board. since there's nothing i can see with the naked eye, the only way to troubleshoot now is to start replacing parts one-by-one and seeing which one solves the problem.
i don't think it's the LCD as the display is fine when the backlight is on, and i can still make out the picture when it's off. so that's one expensive component i'm hoping to avoid replacing.
it might be a cable needs replacing but which one? the one that slots into the right hinge looked alright but i thought it might be getting pinched as the lid opens? maybe an internal break in the wire? is there another cable behind the LCD screen i should check also?
i know if the LCD was off all the time then it's probably a faulty inverter board and would just change that but could it also cause the problem i'm having? it seems strange that a circuit board would choose some arbitrary angle to work and not work. this seems more like a mechanical fault than a logic-based one?
and lastly, the worst thing would be a logic board problem but again, i don't see how this could be? any repair gurus care to advise?
I was told, to highlight the information and do a get Info on it and report back what the message said. When I go to finder and click on the attachment the attachment comes up picture stamp size but so does Picaso. I am unable to find a get information attached to the attachment at finder.

I was talking on skype. I attempted to open microsoft messenger for mac. It froze up the video on skype, but I could still hear the person I was talking to. Microsoft messenger failed to open, so I clicked okay on the error box.
A few minutes later skype froze up and I could no longer hear or see the person I was talking to. My mac was unresponsive and I could not get anything to close so I held the power button and shut it down. I waited for a few minutes and tried to re-boot. It took a few minutes and was still trying to boot, so I went and took a shower. I came back and it was fully booted, yet running very slow. Every application I tried to open would not open fully, I had to force quit anything I tried to open. Even "Finder" wasn't responding and had to be re-launched. As it stands now, I can't stand to try to even use my Mac because it runs so slow, and will not open any applications.
is battery calibration as simple as fully charging and then draining battery ,or is there more steps?

My macbook is just over three months old, the other day my wireless internet connection cut out on it, but soon came back. Since then Safari is moving very slowly, every other page fails to load or will take up to a minute. To login to a page such as email or facebook is nearly impossible. When i have a page that will not load, the blue status in the url box usually doesnt go past the // in the http://, and it almost never fully reaches the end of the box Ive tried resetting safari and emptying the cache and it didnt help. I also contacted Comcast to see if it was a connection issue, but they found no problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new MacBook Pro (100% up to date) and when i click links for PDFs, Safari opens up a new tab and the whole tab is a darker grey color and the PDF never displays. I have followed many suggestions of deleting this AdobePDFViewer file but unfortunately I do not possess it. So I downloaded Adobe Reader and installed it. I set it to not be the default and to not open PDFs from Internet. I deleted Adobe Reader and then I found the AdobePDFViewer file and I also deleted that. But I still can not view PDFs in Safari.

Is there an opinion as to which is better, it at all? I am using it with OS 10.3.6 on two G4's, a Titanium laptop, and a 1.25 dual processor, both with plenty of RAM. There is, however, one specific question. Some sites I can access fully with the laptop, but not with the desktop, even though they are virtually the same hardware & software.
View 39 Replies View RelatedFor several months now safari has not been loading web pages properly (not them all, it is a bit random, but maybe every 3rd or 4th page I open?). The blue loading bar gets to about 1.5 inches from the end and stops. I can then click on the bar and refresh and it loads no problems but this is highly inconvenient and I can't seem to fix it. Â
I have reset safari, updated all software, I am on a mac book pro, I have Version 5.1.5 safari. Â
Would this be an internet problem rather than a software problem? How would I check.Â
It's not very convenient when you're doing something important like trying to get tickets for an event and then it jams, and you know you need to refresh but if you refresh you've lost the tickets...

I am having issues with the latest version of Safari -- 5.1.4 -- not being to fully load Google documents. I have a MacBook 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM, processor, I'm running OS X 10.7.3, and Safari simply will not load the Google docs web page. It gets about one-quarter of the way through it and then simply stops loading. Occasionally, it will load a partial list of documents, but then I get an error message which said Google docs has failed if I click on a specific document (which it loads but won't load the editing tools). So, I'm having to use Chrome. Google docs worked on the previous version of Safari. This is new, and happened after I upgraded this afternoon.

For some reason,using both Safari and Firefox, it can't connect to most websites and if it does the pages don't fully load( pictures and videos won't load) but my network works fine with other device like my phone and I'm still able to download updates. I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
