Just downloaded and installed Safari 5.1.5 via Software Update in OS 10.6.4. About half the time when I'm on a page, the back arrow in the upper left is greyed out and not available for use, even though I've navigated to that page via another page.

I have gone to my library and into the mobile sync/backup, but when I open the backup folder its empty. I have even gone to the preferences setting under itunes and selected devices and that is also empty. No backups are listed there.

Is there any way to program a regular USB non-magic mouse to do the following:
1. Use the side button to go back to the previous screen.
2. Use the scroll wheel and a keyboard key to zoom the text of a page-- like the Command+ combination, not zoom like Control+scroll.
Before the most recent update, hitting the green button on iTunes would make it tiny in the corner, now you have to hit apple-shift-M. I find this annoying, is there any way to go back to just hitting the green button?

I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them.And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

Safari default appearance includes a plus sign tab beside the address bar to be used to save bookmarks.Â

But it reappears when I swap focus to another application. Of course, if another application has focus I don't have immediate access to click the plus sign.Â
If I click where the plus sign is supposed to be I it gives me the option to save the bookmark but sometimes the file list shows and sometimes the file list does not show. Â
I have applied all availible Safari updates, including recently using MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg.Â
I thought about re-installing Safari but that is not a quick/easy process. Currently using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Safari 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)

I'd like to set up Safari so that when I click the green "Maximize" button on the top left, the Safari window goes to a certain size and when I click it again, it goes to another size. I recently have had to system updates (last night and today). Last night I also had a problem that has fixed itself where pressing the command + Q buttons would not clos safari and the "Quit safari" in in the safari drop down was greyed out. As I say the later isue has fixed itself after I force closed and the updates loaded on. Not sure if the two issues are connected.Â
I've just updated safari v5.1.7 and the clear history button does not reset the page. I use Ebay and when you go into an item the title goes to pink and usually clear history resets it to blue. But I've just done un update and now it's not working.

I was wondering if there was a way to enable scroll button click scrolling in Safari 4 on Snow Leopard?
I'm sure there's a proper term for it, but what I mean is when you press down on the scroll wheel and a circle appears on screen with two arrows, when you move your mouse up or down it allows you to scroll through long documents quicker. I think Firefox and Internet Explorer have it.
I read that USB Overdrive might be of use, but it wont recognise my mouse (Logitech MX 620).

However, I have just downloaded and attempted to install safari 3 but it says I've already got a newer version on the dive... so I uninstalled ALL safari application and emptied the trash and it still says that there is a version on the drive.
