May 9, 2012I'm trying to download the new ios update for my iphone, but it's 750MB and takes a long time to download. But that was ok, because apple at least added a resume button. But now I can't get to the download screen to resume. Where is the download screen? I tried going through the store, but its not listed in the history of purchases since it wasn't actually retrieved from the store. How do I get to this screen to resume my download?

Oct 10, 2009It seems that since installing SL, my home icon in Safari keeps going missing. I can add it to the toolbar and it'll stay there only until I close the app. Upon re-opening, it's gone. I don't know that it's related to SL, but the problem has only started since the upgrade.

I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them.And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

Safari :: Add Bookmark Button Plus Sign Disappears
Jun 30, 2012Safari default appearance includes a plus sign tab beside the address bar to be used to save bookmarks.Â
My plus sign disappears. Â
But it reappears when I swap focus to another application. Of course, if another application has focus I don't have immediate access to click the plus sign.Â
If I click where the plus sign is supposed to be I it gives me the option to save the bookmark but sometimes the file list shows and sometimes the file list does not show. Â
I have applied all availible Safari updates, including recently using MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg.Â
I thought about re-installing Safari but that is not a quick/easy process. Currently using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Safari 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)

Oct 1, 2010I just created a website for my dad using iweb 09 and published it yesterday. However, in the photos section there is a "download" button when you enlarge the image. Is there a way to delete this button or at least disable it? He is a photographer and is trying to sell his photos, this will nto work if people can download them for free on the site.

Jun 9, 2012When I try to close safari using the red dot at the top left hand side of the screen instead of the window closing it opens a new blank safari window. Infact the same happens when I click the amber and green buttons also.
I recently have had to system updates (last night and today). Last night I also had a problem that has fixed itself where pressing the command + Q buttons would not clos safari and the "Quit safari" in in the safari drop down was greyed out. As I say the later isue has fixed itself after I force closed and the updates loaded on. Not sure if the two issues are connected.Â

Jun 22, 2012I've just updated safari v5.1.7 and the clear history button does not reset the page. I use Ebay and when you go into an item the title goes to pink and usually clear history resets it to blue. But I've just done un update and now it's not working.

Apr 3, 2010On my old computer, w/Tiger, when I would click the "Get Mail" button, there was a spinner next to the Inbox that let me know that MacMail was looking for mail to download. On my new iMac w/SL, that spinner is conspicuous with its absence. I've looked through Mail Preference, but there doesn't seem to be a toggle to bring the spinner back. I can have a 'sound' let me know if there isn't any new mail, but I still would like the spinner.

I'm sure there's a proper term for it, but what I mean is when you press down on the scroll wheel and a circle appears on screen with two arrows, when you move your mouse up or down it allows you to scroll through long documents quicker. I think Firefox and Internet Explorer have it.
I read that USB Overdrive might be of use, but it wont recognise my mouse (Logitech MX 620).

Apr 9, 2009I've got a real odd problem with safari 4. For some reason it is cutting my download speeds in about 1/2 from my server and many other places.
If I restart safari I will be able to download close to my 18 Mbps for a little bit but then it will just start to slow down and after about 30 minutes it will be down to about 6 - 8 Mbps.

Jul 5, 2012I am unable to open PDF files. All I get is a blank black screen. I now download PDFs into my computer from the internet (with mixed success), which is several steps more than has ever taken me in the past. Since finding this problem I have updated the Adobe Reader and run system updates today, to no avail. Adobe reports that there is a compatibility issue between Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader. They offer several solutions none of which has worked for me. [URL]. Is updating Safari going to work for me, or are there other solutions?

Nov 1, 2009Say you want to download a YouTube video.
Open the page. Then hit option-command-A.
This brings up the activity window. Navigate to the desired page in the window. The video should be somewhere in the mb range, usually 5+ mb. Double-click on it. Download will begin.
If it's tough to spot, reload the page and quickly open the activity window. You might catch it in the middle of loading, making it easier to spot.
