I swear I am not crazy but at random times when surfing I will be taken back to the previous page even though my hand wasn't even on the mouse.
i have my power saver set up so that the display goes to sleep after 30 minutes do i get it to wake back up without pressing the power button in the back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'd like to force quit just like in Windows when I press the Red Button. It's stupid that OS X minimizes it. ( programs consume alot of CPU power if you do this, I watched activity monitor and some programs use 10-20% in this state )
How do I setup OS X to force quit an application when I press the Red Button?
I'm a new Mac user (my MacBook Air bought on April, 17th). I was wondering, is there a way of quitting an app by pressing on the red button only, without pressing on the app name on the menu bar and and then on "Quit X"?

When I press the start button there is a delay of 3-4 seconds before the computer turns on and the sign in screen appears. Then when I shutdown it takes up to 4 minutes to actually turn off the screen.
I also ran a diagnostic check and received the error code HDD/11/4000000:SATA (0,0)... What I do next?

1.turn into black screen after running for about 15 mins, but the system is still running because the keyboard is still functional. After reboot, i record the log as below, it shows that it is a GPU Panic. Â
2. display would not turn on after pressing the power button but can still hear the apple start up chime and the system keep running with the screen off.Â
3. after erased the hard drive and re-installed Mavericks. Under a new installed system, it can run normally for about 1 day, after that especially after a shut down or restart, the problems above came back. Â
I am currently working in Thailand but I have no plan to go back to the US in a short period of time. I brought the laptop to the local apple service, they said it is certainly the logic board or GPU failure and the parts need to be replaced. The cost of the replacement is around half of the price that I paid for this laptop.

I have a macbook pro, bought it May last year(2008). I don't know much about computers, but I loved the transition between pc and mac, had no trouble with it, loved to work with it, until now. I had noticed it became slower like 3 weeks ago, and a week ago, it started to freeze up on me followed by a message that said please restart your computer by pressing the power button and the screen becomes dark. When I try to restart it again, it takes a while because it shuts down again and again, until the 10th time it works. The store told me to clean intall, which I did yesterday, it seemed to have worked, it was faster for sure, but today it happened again, 3 times! Has this happened to anyone? Does somebody know what to do?

Running Firefox for OS X version 3.6.3. After about 20 minutes of use, the yellow minimize window button turns grey, and is not available. When I quit the browser and relaunch it, the yellow middle button is back.

Before the most recent update, hitting the green button on iTunes would make it tiny in the corner, now you have to hit apple-shift-M. I find this annoying, is there any way to go back to just hitting the green button?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a weird issue this morning. I started computer and it did not make the chime sound, it didn't do anything at all. I disconnected it from the extension cord as well as all the peripherals attached to it and nothing. I tried a different start up disk and again there wasn't a sound. Then i unplugged it and reset the SMU on the mother board and air sprayed the computer to remove all dust. Then plugged it back and it came back on.

View 7 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded and installed Safari 5.1.5 via Software Update in OS 10.6.4. About half the time when I'm on a page, the back arrow in the upper left is greyed out and not available for use, even though I've navigated to that page via another page.

It seems that since installing SL, my home icon in Safari keeps going missing. I can add it to the toolbar and it'll stay there only until I close the app. Upon re-opening, it's gone. I don't know that it's related to SL, but the problem has only started since the upgrade.

I'd like to set up Safari so that when I click the green "Maximize" button on the top left, the Safari window goes to a certain size and when I click it again, it goes to another size. Is there any way to do this? I've never really seen a use for Safari's green button as it doesn't really do anything that I can see.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'd love to use Safari more, it's so fast and smooth, but whenever I use it's RSS reading function it feels so redundant and dumb, it's like why don't I just go to the blog as I normally do? I love how in Firefox I can just see all the new stories quickly in a drop-down menu and go stright to the ones I want to read right away, is there no way at all to do that in Safari? Or is there some plugin program out there that does that?

That is mainly it, I just want those two features. To me Safari works a heck of a lot better than FireFox. FireFox for me always crashes even when I have no add ons or anything. YouTube is usually slow and it is just better to use Safari to me. Any advice for the above features on Safari?
I've been using Firefox for several years now, but I'm planning on switching to Safari because it's so much faster. But there are two annoying things that are preventing me from doing so:
1) In Firefox, I can simply add a Bookmark or a Folder directly under the URL box (image below). How do I achieve this in Safari 4.0.3?
2) How can I view the CSS code of a Website that I'm currently viewing?
all of a sudden I can not get onto google. I have tried it in both firefox and safari and cleared all the data. I also have restarted. Each time I try to go to it it comes up a page saying connection interrupted. Do you think something is stopping it from going there?

Does anyone know of a firefox 3 extension or setting that will make the address bar act like safari's? For example, when I type google and hit enter, it automatically goes to google, not a search page.

- Some embedded videos don't play at all
- I get error messages before and after some embedded videos
- Flip 4 Mac doesn't work properly (buttons disappear - so frustrating!)
- Really slow start up (compared to other browsers)
I have none of these issues when I visit the exact same websites using Safari. Now, I have a few reasons why I'm hesitant to switch:
- Add-ons (Foxmarks, Ad-Block, Customize Google, WOT, etc.)
- Custom Search Bars (top right)
- Ease, simplicity, and control
With that said, are there any equivalent Add-Ons for Safari (I know there is an Ad-Block one)? What about custom search bars? And finally, is there a way to view pdf files in Safari without having to download the file first?
Ads are driving me nuts and i know that i can install Firefox and then add Adblock extension but i really want to use Safari and i am looking for something like "Adblock Plus Firefox addon" but for Safari..
