It seems that since installing SL, my home icon in Safari keeps going missing. I can add it to the toolbar and it'll stay there only until I close the app. Upon re-opening, it's gone. I don't know that it's related to SL, but the problem has only started since the upgrade.

Need a "Home Page" button in Safari? This used to be the only reason I never really used Safari. Go to "View > Home" this will add a Home Page button to the address toolbar.

There are 3 buttons Account Information, Mailbox Behaviors and Advanced.

My load images bottom has disappeared. I have mail set up with a preview pane below the inbox list.
I downloaded the safari 4 beta and it was messing around with msn and some other applications so I did what some other people on here did and just uninstalled it. I now have safari 3 back and whenever I open the application it just starts up as a blank page. I have my home page set to Google but for some reason it doesn't start on that page. It really is just a minor annoyance but it did not do this before. My safari is version 3.2.1 which is the latest (except for 4 obviously).

Is there any way to do this? I've never really seen a use for Safari's green button as it doesn't really do anything that I can see.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThen I minimised the Safari window, and when I returned, the bookmark bar has gone. Preferences says that it's still on 'show bookmark bar' is ticked. I've tried quitting safari, I've rebuilt permissions. The bookmarks are still there - I can 'show all bookmarks' from the bookmark menu - just the bar has gone
Any ideas where it might have gone to and how I can get it back - hadn't realised how much I depended on it for casual browsing unti it wasn't there.

However, along with mouse gestures, the thing that is really holding me back is that there doesn't seem to be auto-scrolling. The little icon that pops up when you press the middle mouse button and scrolls the page automatically. Is there really no auto-scroll or am I missing something?

I select Send Fax, then Facsimile.There used to be a button that said Address Book so I could find the fax number to use. That button is no longer there. I now have to manually open the Address Book to find the number, then copy and paste it into the Fax (Print) dialog window.Over the weekend I did update my Brother printer driver using Software Update. Did this cause the Address Book button to vanish?

I just bought a new Logic Board for a 1.25Ghz eMac and I've put almost everything back together after installing it until I ran into a problem. The power button cable that runs from the power button on the casing into the logic board has no connector on the Logic Board itself, now I have an old logic board that whilst being broken has a connector on it but I really don't want to have to solder the connector on for fear of breaking the logic board.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a pretty experienced Mac user but have never ran into this problem. My iDisk icon in the sidebar of the Finder window doesn't have an eject button. Any disk or other removable drive gives me the eject button but not the iDisk. I am running on the latest version of Tiger (10.4.5) and a 12" 1.25GHz iBook G4 with 1.25GB Ram. I know those stats really don't make a difference, except for maybe the OS, but just in case anyone was wondering.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a LaCie 250GB external Hard drive partitioned 3 ways. I deleted the data from 2 partitions and wish to merge that space so I wind up with two partitions. I want to keep the data in the first volume (partition). I followed "enlarging a volume" instructions in Disk Utility Help deleting the last volume and merging it with the prior volume, however the last instruction says to "Click Apply". I cannot find an "apply" button. Everything else I try does not save my changes. The blank volume I want to delete is formatted for DOS and I want to use that space for a PowerBook backup.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi've had a Macbook for a couple years and I have some knowledge of OS X but this one has stumped me.My friend called me tonight and she told me on her new iMac that in the finder window, after clicking on Macintosh HD, the eject button was missing that should be next to the device.This apparently happened earlier today with a CD and happened when she called me with an External HDD.
She was however able to eject the stuff by either dragging it to the trash or doing "Open Apple" + E, key shortcut. I'm stumped on this because she was till able to eject the HDD or CD with the previous methods but the Finder, "eject" button for the devices was missing.
I am trying to update my itunes. When going ot the apple website to download the new verison of safari 5.1.7 there is no button on the page to click to download it.

I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them.And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

When I go to a friend's blog and click on "Print," the "Create a New Tab Button" at the top of Safari goes gray and unusable. Usually, I have to Quit Safari and restart it, but today, after printing, the button returned to normal spontaneously

Safari default appearance includes a plus sign tab beside the address bar to be used to save bookmarks.Â
My plus sign disappears. Â
But it reappears when I swap focus to another application. Of course, if another application has focus I don't have immediate access to click the plus sign.Â
If I click where the plus sign is supposed to be I it gives me the option to save the bookmark but sometimes the file list shows and sometimes the file list does not show. Â
I have applied all availible Safari updates, including recently using MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg.Â
I thought about re-installing Safari but that is not a quick/easy process. Currently using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Safari 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)
