Feb 13, 2009I just installed Safari 3.2.1 and find that I have no operable Back- Forward browse feature.
The buttons are there but always grayed out as if no previous page existed. Too, when I right click on a web page I no longer get "back" as a default. It comes up "reload" no matter where on the page I click. Finally, when I view History the only link displayed is the page that I am on. To get to a previous page I must select "Earlier Today". I DO NOT have Private Viewing selected.
What gives? This is a primary feature. lacking it makes it very difficult to use the browser.

Apr 15, 2012I accidentally hid the Safari toolbar and now I can't get it back. The toolbar NOT the menu bar. The toolbar with the navigation buttons and address and good search bars. I can't find any way to unhide the toolbar. This is for Safari on Windows in case that's not clear. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the toolbar was still hidden. How do I get the toolbar back? Safari is useless without it.

Jun 1, 2012I know the factory setting on a macbook pro have the delete key going backward. Somehow my macbook pro has the delete key going forward. I think my daughter hit fn/delete by accident. I want the delete key to go backwards to the left. I tried system preference - keyboard- restore default but that didn't work. And hitting control h everytime I make a typo is taking way too long. How do I get it back so the delete backspaces?

When I have Windows running in Parallels, I can use my 3-finger gestures in Firefox to go forward and back, which is a feature I'm in love with. The problem is that when I boot directly into Windows I lose that feature, and it's really bugging me. Is there a program or even a firefox add-on that would fix this?

I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

Jun 1, 2010I'm planning to reinstall Snow Leopard. I'm using Time Machine. I want to avoid automatic solutions like "Restore from Time Machine backup" and the Migration Assistant because I want to make sure my system stays clean.
This is how I imagine it:I boot my freshly installed system, plug in my Time Machine external drive, open it with Finder and start dragging back all the stuff I need (Photos, Music and Documents) just as if it were a regular external hard drive with files on it. Then I will reinstall all applications manually.
Will this work? Please tell me if you have ever tried this and whether it worked. Will this not cause problems with permissions or anything like that?

Dec 3, 2010I have managed to install virtualbox on my mba 11.6 with win 7 as the guest.
1. The only way I can move from win 7 back to osx is to hold esc and drag the cursor down through the bottom of the win 7 window. Is this how its supposed to work?
2. I have set up a shared folder on osx and set it up on virtualbox but cannot mount it as instructed through the command menu.
3. Virtualbox doesn't recognise my pen drive but osx does.
4. Would it be advantageous to use win 7 lite as I only have 160 hd?
Excuse my asking seemingly simple tasks but I'm struggling with it, and cannot put anything on win 7 until I master it.
