Just updated my software and now safari can't connect to websites. It connects for a bit then after awhile it will no longer connect. Firefox and Chrome are connecting fine so this is a safari only issue with the latest update.
Safari Version 5.1.5 (7534.55.3)
Quiting safari and restarting works for a little while then eventually 'can't connect to server' eventually appears. I'm going back to firefox until this is resolved.

Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I have a new iMac and iPhone 4.0. All software is up to date and I have installed the free beta version of Mountain Lion which let me use iChat on my computer. Safari intermittently stops working. Mail won't access my mailboxes if Safari is running. Now iTunes won't find my iPhone when it's locked and in a dock charging. If I restart I can do 1 thing at a time, but I can't have Safari running and use Mail. I've emptied my cache, checked my passwords. It's none of that. By process of elimination, there is some kind of conflict between using multiple applications on the Internet at the same time. Sometimes after I've gone to several Internet sites Safari will stop working properly even though all other applications have been "quit".

Since Friday March 23 email has been inaccessible. I have network connections, Safari is working, I can get to icloud mail but the mail program won't connect. As far as I can tell Apple says there's no mail outage. On Thursday I used my work Win 7 laptop to move to iCloud from [URL](all I want is email; nothing else). Did this change something?

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

Have a new (used) imac running 10.5.6
Used migration assistant to transfer data from G4 which may have been my first mistake...however it's done. Before transfer I was able to access my mac mail, however after transfer I'm unable to.
My isp is comcast. They have not been able to help me. We have gone over preference settings, and that is not the problem.

I cant use mail on my MacBook as the accounts won't go on line. I guess this is because my me.com account has been migrated to iCloud and I don't have a new enough computer. Is there a way of getting it to work or do I have to go through all the bother of telling all my work contacts to use another address. Although I can use the iphone mail fine that isn't really on.

We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.Â

I have three computers on my home network; A dual 1.8 G5 with Leopard, a Macbook Pro with Leopard, and a Windows XP Box. My problem with Safari started about 3 months ago, when I tried accessing a website via my g5. Safari said it could not connect to the server. I assumed the site was down. However, I hopped on my MBP and the site worked fine. In fact, I found a lot of sites that my G5 didn't want to access that my MBP could, on the same network. I have flushed my DNS cache, reset safari, cleared safari's cache, reset my router, cable modem, checked the DNS servers. Everything seems identical between the MBP and the g5. The problem happens in both Safari and Firefox

I've been using Safari for awhile and it's been working fine. However, the Macheist chat stopped loading the past few days, and I know it's just me, because other people can connect. So I thought I would download Firefox to see if that would work, but when I type in a webpage in Firefox, it would just give me a blank white page. So I thought it was just a bad preference file, so I deleted it, but Firefox did the same thing. So I downloaded Firefox 2, and the same thing happened. Now I was a little freaked out, as you can imagine. Then I downloaded Camino, and the same the happened-a blank white screen! Only Safari can connect to the web.

Im recently updated the software for my macbook pro. Since doing so, when i open safari it just says cannot connect to internet, even though my wifi is connected. After 2 mins of sitting on the desktop safari connects succesfully once opened and stays connected until i next put the machine into sleep.
All other devices in the house are working, including an ipad, 2 x iphones and 2 x PC's.The macbook pro was working completely fine before the update so i am totally convinced that this update has caused it.

This morning, I started Mail as I do everyday, but I could not assess my iCloud mail. I used Connection Doctor and the report that Mail was able to connect to the internet but under iCloud, the message was "Could not connect to this iCloud IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences." I checked the Account preferences and see the incoming Mail Server greyed out. It said p03-imap.mail.me.com I had been using Mail everyday and moved from Mobileme to iCloud once I upgraded to OSX Lion 10.7 several months back. I have upgraded the OS to 10.7.3.Â
I tried to assess mail in Safari and was successful. I checked the iCloud status and it was on. I did the following try to resolve the problem. I repaired permissions. I deleted the iCloud account from Mail. Then I unchecked the Mail & Notes checkbox in the iCloud pane in System Preferences. I restarted the computer and rechecked the Mail & Notes check box in the iCloud pane in System Preferences. Then opened Mail and opened it Preferences. Then I added one account. Filling the Name, email address and password in the form. When I pressed continue, I get the message, "The iCloud IMAP server 'p03-imap.mail.me.com' is not responding ..."  At the moment I am using the browser to assess my mail. Is there some way to get back assess in Mail?

For the last day and half, I've been unable to access my iCloud email through Mail on Lion. I get the following error:Â
The server returned the error: The connection to host p03-imap.mail.me.com on port 143 failed.
According to the system status, iCloud Mail did have an issue but apparently they think it's resolved. why I'm still getting an error? I have no problems accessing iCloud Mail on any other devices or through Safari.

It connects to the net fine, however, some websites don't work. Yahoo mail for example, comes up with "Safari can't open the page "url..." because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "login.yahoo.com" ", however, if i try access Yahoomail on the iMac (where I am now), it works fine.
also, when I access the mac app store, I can view "featured" "top charts" "catergories" and "updates", and I can download a new app, however, when I click on "Purchases" I says "cannot connect to the app store". again, on the iMac, using the same apple ID, I can access purchases. I'm trying to download my app purchases to my new computer but it isnt working.

My Mail client stopped connecting to iCloud all of a sudden this morning. It has been set up a while ago and always worked fine. Now it shows the broken connection icon, and when I click on it it asks for my iCloud password.I enter the correct password and click OK, and nothing happens. The broken connection icon remain and I do not receive new e-mail and cannot send emails.Â
I am certain this is the right password as I can log into iCloud webmail, and my iphone and ipad remained connected. Is there something wrong with the iCloud server, or is there something I can do?

I unplugged my PC and my two macs because of the potential threat of the whole April Fools Day Virus. Well I heard nothing happened so I turned on my PC. Interent would not connect.. then I realized my wifi modem wasnt connected. I connected it and the internet worked fine. I went downstairs and turned on my old imac and my new 17 inch macbook pro. I booted up Safari just to make sure and it won't connect. It just keeps acting like it's trying to load and won't connect even though I have full signal. Any ideas what's up? It's going on with both of them yet for some reason my pc is working fine.

So for some reason my MacBook Pro is acting weird at my apartment. When I try to connect the the internet it always comes up as safari cannot open the window because safari cannot connect to the server. However when I run diagnostics it says my internet is working correctly. I can not open websites such as facebook, google, youtube, etc. But I can open Bing and Ask.com. I have cleared my catche, deleted cookies, tried reseting my router, and nothing works. But then when I go to school I can connect to the internet and all of the other websites fine. What is going on with my computer is there something I need to do with my router at home or what?

I have read every single post on this problem, I have looked at keychains, plugins, extensions, you name it I ahve tried it. Facebook hasn't worked for three weeks and now Yahoo won't work either. I get the message that the server has dropped the connection. No luck. I also can't get facebook in FireFox or Chrome, so this is a systemic problem. I have run anti-virus, I have done everything imaginable and can't fix the problem. I can get FB, Yahoo, whatever on other computers using the same ISP, modem, and router.

I have searched through the forums here and google, and still have not found a solution. I have logged into other user accounts with the same results, but found that the guest account does work. I've actually booted the machine in target disk mode and deleted safari, then downloaded and reinstalled it, but through the process there are probably a lot of things I've missed. I've trashed the plugins, reset safari a billion times, and have even created a new location in network settings (per advice on another website). I'm not sure what else to try, short of wiping the system and re-installing (which seems drastic).
