For the last day and half, I've been unable to access my iCloud email through Mail on Lion. I get the following error:
The server returned the error: The connection to host p03-imap.mail.me.com on port 143 failed.
According to the system status, iCloud Mail did have an issue but apparently they think it's resolved. why I'm still getting an error? I have no problems accessing iCloud Mail on any other devices or through Safari.

Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL I just started to receive this message, when I try to go to this one website. What caused this? and how can I fix this problem? I an geet to website using other browsers.
I am migrating my mail and archive folders from Mail to iCloud. I moved 20+ folders and over 8k messages with no problem by dragging and dropping the folder from 'On my mac' section to 'iCloud' section in Mail. The last two folders were the largest with over 1.5k in each folder. Over 1200 of the messages in each went in to iCloud without a hitch. Then I got this error:
The IMAP command “APPEND” (to [mail box name]) failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters.
There are 149 messages left in one folder and 203 in another folder. Try as I might, it will not work. I tried Rebuild mailbox option in menu and exported to Mail and mbox format and then re-importing. Still does not work.
Since Friday March 23 email has been inaccessible. I have network connections, Safari is working, I can get to icloud mail but the mail program won't connect. As far as I can tell Apple says there's no mail outage. On Thursday I used my work Win 7 laptop to move to iCloud from [URL](all I want is email; nothing else). Did this change something?
Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?
I have been getting the below error when i try to send an email out through the mail client. It was working just fine till this evening and now its all gone downhill...
Trying to send an email in Mavericks Mail from iCloud account and got the following error: MCMailErrorDomain error 1032.
Does this simply mean that iCloud had a hiccup (there was no outage reported at [URL], or is there something that I can do to prevent this from happening?
This morning, I started Mail as I do everyday, but I could not assess my iCloud mail. I used Connection Doctor and the report that Mail was able to connect to the internet but under iCloud, the message was "Could not connect to this iCloud IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences." I checked the Account preferences and see the incoming Mail Server greyed out. It said p03-imap.mail.me.com I had been using Mail everyday and moved from Mobileme to iCloud once I upgraded to OSX Lion 10.7 several months back. I have upgraded the OS to 10.7.3.
I tried to assess mail in Safari and was successful. I checked the iCloud status and it was on. I did the following try to resolve the problem. I repaired permissions. I deleted the iCloud account from Mail. Then I unchecked the Mail & Notes checkbox in the iCloud pane in System Preferences. I restarted the computer and rechecked the Mail & Notes check box in the iCloud pane in System Preferences. Then opened Mail and opened it Preferences. Then I added one account. Filling the Name, email address and password in the form. When I pressed continue, I get the message, "The iCloud IMAP server 'p03-imap.mail.me.com' is not responding ..." At the moment I am using the browser to assess my mail. Is there some way to get back assess in Mail?
My Mail client stopped connecting to iCloud all of a sudden this morning. It has been set up a while ago and always worked fine. Now it shows the broken connection icon, and when I click on it it asks for my iCloud password.I enter the correct password and click OK, and nothing happens. The broken connection icon remain and I do not receive new e-mail and cannot send emails.
I am certain this is the right password as I can log into iCloud webmail, and my iphone and ipad remained connected. Is there something wrong with the iCloud server, or is there something I can do?

Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages and still cannot send and receive. Get error messages, "does not recognize password" etc. Have working on Snow Leopard, iPhone iPad but not 10.4.11 PPC Mail. I used Apple support set up. I originally had a .mac account and have tried both XXXX@mac.com and xxx.me.com as username. I Upgraded my password to stronger suggested strength. (one cap and one letter minimum 8) I verified Keychain. I have even deleted everything including Keychain and account and started over numerous times, still no joy. Ports are incoming 993 and outgoing 587. Will not be upgrading this machine due to production software issues but was told I could stll use the .mac email

I received an iCloud error message yesterday twice for me.com mail. One finally went through but the other one I can't cancel or delete.Try to send email again?
Used migration assistant to transfer data from G4 which may have been my first mistake...however it's done. Before transfer I was able to access my mac mail, however after transfer I'm unable to.
My isp is comcast. They have not been able to help me. We have gone over preference settings, and that is not the problem.
I am not able to download Mail in iCloud today (June 23, 2012). Down earlier. Backup after 2 hours. Worked for about 6 hours. Then down again now. Went to iCloud on the web. Was able to login but Mail is also not working on the web iCloud. Other apps are okay though.
I am currently trying to set it up with my yahoo account and every time i enter the details it comes up could not connect to POP server or something along them lines
I have my Gmail account set up for IMAP, and use it in Mail. However, as of this morning, Mail can't connect to either the IMAP server or the SMTP server. Whenever I try to connect to the IMAP server, it gives me the following error:
"The server '[URL]' refused to allow a connection on port 993."
I've checked repeatedly and all of my settings are as the Gmail website says they should be. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?
I have moved my accounts to iCloud and continue to use Apple Mail; incoming mail does not download and in the preferences the incoming mail server is grayed out and will not allow me to change it. I followed the directions to remove the account and manually re-enter it, but still the same problem.
I don't know what's wrong with it.My ipod touch connects just fine and yet when i try to connect my new macbook it won't allow me to connect.I've never owned a macbook - so i have no idea how to fix this.
I currently have the network setup assistant running and configuring - but it's been about an hour and it hasn't done anything. Is there something else i need to do?
I am running Lion (latest ver) on my iMac (2011, i7), and have icloud set up to sync mail (and other stuff) with my iPhone 4. My iCloud account Sent Mail and Drafts are being syncronized between the cloud the iPhone, but not the iMac. So for example, I see 2 items in my Drafts folder when I log into icloud.com, and I see them in the drafts folder on iPhone mail, but they do not appear in the drafts folder for my iCloud account on Mail.app on the iMac. Also, I don't see emails I sent from icloud.com on my Mac's mail. I have iCloud enabled on the mac, and mail syncing is specifically turned on.
