View 1 RepliesI have a lot of 1080p videos on my Mac, and I can play them in every app but iTunes. iTunes says i cannot play the videos as I have a 1.86GHz CPU, which does not meet the requirements for playing 1080p HD videos in iTunes [URL]. The thing is is that I can play these videos in any other app (they are not protected files, as they are BluRay rips from my external BluRay drive).
My question is this: how can I get these videos to play on my Mac, and on my iPod touch as well?

I have a relatively new 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 MacBook Air, purchased in August of last year. Just recently it started giving me the HDCP error when I tried to play HD TV shows downloaded from iTunes. Given the capability of the display (1440 x 900) this shouldn't be a problem and like I said, I've never had this issue until very recently. I have tried downloading both 720p and 1080p versions of the videos and neither will play for more than a few seconds before the warning appears.
I am not plugging my MacBook Air into an external display. In fact, when I play the videos on my Apple TV v2 (both streaming from my machine and via iCloud directly) they play just fine. I have the lastest EFI firmware installed on my machine as well as all other software updates. I have checked to make sure there are not any partial downloads that could be causing a problem. The error also appears if I try to open the content with Quicktime.

So I tried playing a few 720p/1080p flash videos on Youtube and Hulu in fullscreen mode and the videos seem to stutter quite a bit. Is that normal? I am using Firefox on my ultimate MBA 11". I thought the 320m gpu could at least handle HD videos.

Is it possible to put a password on a flash drive/eternal drive? I know many companies sell drives that have encryption software built in, but is it possible to just simply password protect. So basically it asks for a password before it shows the content of the drive?

After updating I can't play certain mp4 movies anymore with my Quicktime X Player: I can hear audio but I don't see video.
What is so strange about it that until today I was able to view them without any problems.
I still can watch them with VLC player.
When I click on file info, I see these codecs: AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 SDSM, MPEG-4 ODSM
How can I solve this problem? I am using OS X 10.6

View 4 Replies View RelatedI work for a law firm and we received a CD which contains a .mov file. When we try to play it in Quick Time, it plays the audio, but NO video. We are trying to play it is Quick Time (version 7.7.1) on a Windows XP Pro PC. When Quick Time first opened, it gave a message saying "Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from the Quick Time Components page." I clicked Continue and it took me to the Components page, but it lists like 10 different components and I have no idea what we need. Is it a CODEC? I have tried converting it to a different format usinig two different softwares and have gotten errors.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI shoot HD videos on my Nikon P100 and play them from QuickTime on my Win7 machine. I'd like to be able to play multiple files one after another, but it seems Apple does not allow this. For instance, if I click multiple files and then click Open, it brings up two copies of QuickTime. It seems it can't figure out that I'd like a single QT window that would know to play the first file then the second file. Is there a way to achieve this behavior in QuickTime for Windows?
