My friend is having this little problem with Quicktime. Every time he plays a movie (not in fullscreen) and make the window bigger, it starts to shrink until its the smallest it can go. This doesn't happen in fullscreen, does anyone know what the problem is?
View 1 RepliesI have a .wmv file and when I try to open it in quicktime it only plays half of it, but when I attempt to convert it to a different format like .avi, the quality gets reduced but it will play the entire thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI work for a law firm and we received a CD which contains a .mov file. When we try to play it in Quick Time, it plays the audio, but NO video. We are trying to play it is Quick Time (version 7.7.1) on a Windows XP Pro PC. When Quick Time first opened, it gave a message saying "Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from the Quick Time Components page." I clicked Continue and it took me to the Components page, but it lists like 10 different components and I have no idea what we need. Is it a CODEC? I have tried converting it to a different format usinig two different softwares and have gotten errors.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to play a 20GB .mov (I have donwloaded the ProRes Decoder for Windows codec) and also export the file to a smaller one on my PC. The file opens but stutters and freezes; audio plays okay. On the export side, it goes through most of it but fails at the end.

I have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
Okay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

On my computer everything looks fine. I'm not using any filters to reduce file size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rent a movie via iTunes. It said the movie was ready to be played although it is still downloading so I wanted to start playing. My Problem is, that the movie does not start. It is stuck on a black screen. If I move the slider on bottom I can see pictures of parts of the movie that have already been loaded. But I cannot start playing them as a film.
Same thing with Trailers in the Store. iTunes was updated yesterday and also Quicktime is up to date and I also tried the repair function of it. Running Win 7 Professional, 64 bit. Because the rental period now expires in 48 hours (because I clicked on "play movie"). As a "workaround" I tried to play the Movie on my MacBook Pro but it says the rented film is now been authorised to my PC.
I rented Boiler Room for 3.99 and it stopped playing at 1:24:02. Why is this???

After updating I can't play certain mp4 movies anymore with my Quicktime X Player: I can hear audio but I don't see video.
What is so strange about it that until today I was able to view them without any problems.
I still can watch them with VLC player.
When I click on file info, I see these codecs: AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 SDSM, MPEG-4 ODSM
How can I solve this problem? I am using OS X 10.6

I rented a movie on iTunes via my iPad.It loaded properly. I hit play and Air Play so it would connect to my Apple TV. I can now HEAR the movie, but I cannot see it (having said that, I see the movie, still, on my iPad screen....). Apple TV and AirPlay work fine with youtube videos and previously bought movies.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis baffles me in terms of GB's. I imported a legal DVD to burn off Mactheripper in GB that was 2.7. turning it into a VT file. I then used cinimitize 2.0 making them 3 files, 2 .mov files and 1 audio files. Turns out each segment at 40KB's, 30 segments in all. Then I import the .Mov files to Final Cut Express and when I convert the whole 2hr and 40 min movie out to a "quicktime file". After that I open up the new Final Cut Quicktime .Mov turns out to be 38GB's. I am turning it into hopefully a 30 min film, but I do not understand the math at all, and I simply dont get how a 2.4GB DVD turns into a 38GB Quicktime movie.

First time using Quicktime. When I go to file to look for New Movie Recording, it's greyed out saying I need Quicktime Pro. And even if I try to buy Quicktime pro (which I don't want) it tells me I can't load it because Quicktime is built into OSx.

itunes will not play mp3 files that quicktime plays. I've dumped the files into itunes and added them via add to library. Opening with quick time the files play fine.
