I video'd my bands latest gig on the weekends using I-Movie, but when played back on I-movie, the video / Audio are over 10 seconds out of sync. Common Problem apparently, however on Quicktime it runs smoothly, so I was told I need to edit it in Quicktime Pro. Easier said that done. Quicktime Pro is only available for V7, I have V10 installed, and it will not allow me to install V7 when V10 is installed. Already paid for the rego, so not Freaking impressed with Apple having such a F..d up system in place where they do not keep the Pro version up to date with the free version.
so i intentionally/accidentally deleted my qt plugins in safari trying to solve a player issue. anyway i have spent 24 hrs reading alllllll the posts and kind find a solution to my new problem. i have QTX and QT7 loaded on the mac snow leopard. this was working before i deleted the plugins. after reinstalling the QT 7, the plugins are in the internet plugin folder in both my main and user library, but Safari refuses to acknowledge their presences and simply says "plugin missing" when i go to webpage with embeded media or tries to download the .mov from another site. The plugins while in the library, are NOT listing in the Safari installed plugin list.
Cannot unload quicktime or get to load new quicktime can not run on windows xp I get error code 2093. Went to open the quicktime exe folder and running as me do not see how to override or check administrator box.
Certain webistes like [URL], take ages to load after i login. I have cleaned my cache , deleted cookies,etc.... In the apple store everything works fine , but not at home. When using other PC's / notebooks it all works fine, except my own Macbook. Other browsers on my Mc , have the same problem.
I have a problem where finder (under any condition even after a fresh restart) does not load the folder contents on my computer. Sometimes it loads after multiple restarts but somtimes it doesn't. I cannot browse through files anymore as nothing appears. Nothing also appears on terminal either. Here is a screenshot.
I have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?
Info: Quicktime, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Quicktime Version 7.7, iPhoto 7.1.5
I edited a screen recording video (shot with QuickTime) with iMovie. Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format. I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple. The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. (now updating to 10.7.3), but it already did this before I had OSX Lion installed. If I search for new updates it doesn't come up with an update for QuickTime.Any other player works (although VLC's the only one I tried so far).
Firefox 9 for Mac cannot play quicktime content on a Lion 7.3 system.Firefox displays a message that a plugin for quicktime is needed, but cannot find one.
I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 and use Firefox. I keep getting a message that QuickTime 7.6.6 plug in is out of date. I have done the software update and it shows no current updates available. Certain videos won't play and it says that this may make my computer vulnerable.
I cant stream quicktime videos in safari. Every time I go to a video for example on apple.com and try to watch an iPod or Mac advert it will just tells me quicktime is required, free download. I've tried downloading quicktime 7 again but then it says that it cannot be installed because quicktime X is already installed, go to software update to install older version. Software update has no updates for me. I'm stuck, has anyone else had this problem?
I do have Quicktime X installed but it still wont let me view the videos.
I did a quick search but couldn't find any info on this.
Before upgrading my Mac mini to 10.6, I had installed Quicktime Pro 7. I had set up Quicktime 7 Pro to be the default app to open my .m4v handbrake video files rather than iTunes.
I just was testing some movies that I encoded last night before the 10.6 upgrade, which I did this morning.
Double clicking the .m4v file opened it in Quicktime 7 not Quicktime X. I looked in the applications folder to see if Quicktime 7 was still there but it wasn't. A quick Spotlight search and I found that Quicktime 7 (at least the Pro version) was moved to the utilities folder.
Conclusion: If you do a 10.6 upgrade install, and you have Quicktime 7 Pro, you don't have to install it from the 10.6 disc, it's just been moved to your utilities folder.
I encoded a bunch of anamorphic h264 videos, all done with the same settings and software, and in Quicktime's inspector, some show as "current size: 640 x 480" and others say "current size: 640 x 480 (actual)". Although they all display CORRECTLY, I am worried something went wrong with the PAR on encoding or when setting the current size in Subler (to get comptibility with older devices). What does the "actual" part really mean?
I am having an issue with an iMac G4 12 laptop. Mac operating system will not load properly, and a whirring and clicking noise occurs internally. Upon turning the computer on, after a pause, the screen indicating the Mac logo appears along with the pinwheel icon- this is then interrupted and the screen turns blue-grey and remains blank, with the pinwheel icon occasionally becoming visible before disappearing again. Internal clicking and whirring occurs throughout this sequence. Operating system never loads and the desktop never appears. This is not due to any handling mishap, i.e. dropping, slamming shut or any other contact damage. Any info or advice would be really helpful.
My new Mac Pro is causing me a lot of grief lately. Using safari or firefox, when trying to stream video, the cpu load on the system jumps to 12 or 13 % on average, sometimes up to 20%. Things get extremely choppy, and it beachballs occasionally. Just using the secondary scroll wheel on my logitech MX revolution to bring up the dashboard makes it jump to around 5%. These are tasks my little crummy old laptop handles just fine (well not the dashboard, its a windows laptop). I have ten gigs of ram, but two of my sticks are having massive ECC errors (multiple thousands) and switch between being recognized as 2gig to 1gig sticks. I got the memory from OWC and am getting it replaced though. In any case, would the faulty memory cause this much of an increase in cpu load for something as trivial and streaming low-def video? Or should I call AppleCare because something more serious may be a problem? It just doesnt seem normal for a computer where everyone says that no one normally even utilizes all the power of to be struggling with such nominal tasks.
Frequent reader of Mac Rumors but I finally joined as I searched a few threads that had similar issues but didn't create a solution for me. Essentially, certain web sites will not load on my mac after a while. When I first got it and subsequently formatted and reinstalled the OS (due to the same issue I'm having now), this issue did not happen.I have a Mac Book Pro, OS X 10.5, 15.4" and other than this software screwup problem, everything runs like a dream.
Here is what happens: I browse many websites, download files, normal computer usage, and after a while certian websites instantly don't load. A classic example is [URL], which didn't load the last time I had this issue, in addition to [URL], which also didn't load the last time I had this issue. BOTH of these pages used to load fine. The pages instantly go to a "cannot find server" error, on safari, and firefox. However, on parallels, the pages DO load on XP using firefox and internet explorer, although I could have sworn they didn't the last time...which may end up being the case as time goes on.
I have no spyware, firewall, or other network software on the machine. I DO have peer guardian but the problem persists even when I have quit the program.Restarting does nothing. Honestly, I must have done 50,000 google searches on this issue, and different people have different solutions to similar problems (permissions, etc), but this is something new, because the pages used to load and no do not.
I have a Macbook pro running leopard, an old PC, and an iPhone all using the same wireless router. None of these are running any blocking or filtering software (that I know of). The PC and the iPhone can connect to [URL]and namebargain.com just fine. But the Mac can not find these 2 sites, and these 2 sites only.
