We just upgraded to LION 10.7.4 and I'm noticing on a few of my Quicktime movies - when paused, the screen turns green? THAT'S never happened before. I'm sure it's an upgrade issue, when I go back to our clone from last week, it doesn't do that! We use QT Pro 7.66. on a MacBook Pro (about 1 1/2 years old) - always perfect results, but now this? No big deal, just a little annoying. It only does this on a few of the movies we've exported out of Final Cut Pro. Can't find the pattern?Â
View 14 Replies View RelatedLately, every time I export a new movie from QT 7 Pro, I get a green image when the movie is stopped. It used to be that I could see that frame of the movie when I stopped it, but that's no longer the case. This is very annoying and difficult to use the movie if you have to identify a particular spot in the movie where something is happening. Is there a fix for this? My export settings are h.264, high quality, 29.97 fps, 24 key frame rate, frame reordering yes, multi-pass encoding, Sound is AAC, 48 kHz, mono, 64kbps, set to Fast Start.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie. They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem. I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet. I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look". Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

I edited a screen recording video (shot with QuickTime) with iMovie. Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format. I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple. The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. (now updating to 10.7.3), but it already did this before I had OSX Lion installed. If I search for new updates it doesn't come up with an update for QuickTime.Any other player works (although VLC's the only one I tried so far).

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 on my MBP.
I cant stream quicktime videos in safari. Every time I go to a video for example on apple.com and try to watch an iPod or Mac advert it will just tells me quicktime is required, free download. I've tried downloading quicktime 7 again but then it says that it cannot be installed because quicktime X is already installed, go to software update to install older version. Software update has no updates for me. I'm stuck, has anyone else had this problem?
I do have Quicktime X installed but it still wont let me view the videos.
I did a quick search but couldn't find any info on this.

At the moment I can only use the screen record function on the main MacBook monitor. I move the QuickTime window around but it will still only record the main monitor. Other than changing the monitor on which the menu bar is located, is there a way to record on a second screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo with Quicktime X, it gives me the options to Record using my Macs Camera, i can record my screen, and i can record audio. but how do i record the screen and the screens audio. like if i am going to record a video on the screen, and want the audio of that video to be recorded, then how do i do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm going to miss the Canada-Russia Olympic Hockey game tomorrow, and I was hoping to find some way of recording the streaming video onto my computer to watch when i got home. I've managed to get the "Screen Recording" function working properly (how cool is that??) but it doesn't seem to be picking up any audio. Is there any way to do that? I tried running a simultaneous audio recording, but it doesn't recognize the audio coming in with the video as an audio feed. I'm using Quicktime X on a Dec. 2007 macbook running Snow Leopard. Is there a better way to record ths game from the site streaming the video?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI see that you can make video screen captures in Snow Leopard, using Quicktime Player's New Screen Movie feature. This is great for my needs, except for one thing: They're too big. It makes life-size recordings of my entire 1,900 x 1,200 screen, and the files seems to come out around 11 megabytes per minute of video. I don't see a way to resize the screen capture videos to a smaller size, in Quicktime Player. Is there a way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was making a screen recording for a video tutorial and when I finished, it stuck itself on "finishing." I haven't been able to force quit it in the dock or in Activity Monitor. I cannot shut my computer off or restart it. I have a 21.5' iMac running Mac OS X Lion version 10.7.3. I’m using Quicktime Pro 10.1 with Lion and when I export a clip, I get a file with audio but no video. I had this problem on my other MacBook and found a suggestion that I remove a file from the library but I can’t find the suggestion now and don’t remember what I removed.

I've been attempting to use Quicktime to create screen recordings with sound so that I can send them to some people. I've found however that the files are very large, for example a 30 second recording takes up 250 MB even with 'Medium' sound.

Quicktime Observation
Before upgrading my Mac mini to 10.6, I had installed Quicktime Pro 7. I had set up Quicktime 7 Pro to be the default app to open my .m4v handbrake video files rather than iTunes.
I just was testing some movies that I encoded last night before the 10.6 upgrade, which I did this morning.
Double clicking the .m4v file opened it in Quicktime 7 not Quicktime X. I looked in the applications folder to see if Quicktime 7 was still there but it wasn't. A quick Spotlight search and I found that Quicktime 7 (at least the Pro version) was moved to the utilities folder.
Conclusion: If you do a 10.6 upgrade install, and you have Quicktime 7 Pro, you don't have to install it from the 10.6 disc, it's just been moved to your utilities folder.
I have the aluminum unibody macbook from I think 2008 with the 2.0 ghz and 2 gigs of ram. I was on iChat with a friend the other day and wanted to record our conversation. So I fired up QuickTime X and started the screen recording function. When we were finished (a good 15 mins later) I pressed stop on the screen recording and everything seemed fine. I went back today to make notes and it only recorded 6 minutes of our conversation!! My computer was really working hard on the fan keeping it cool from all the cpu usage but I thought everything was fine. Could it have overheated and caused QuickTime to stop recording? Or another explanation?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to make a video with QuickTime X screen capture function. I use my MacBook 13,3" with an external monitor. The desktop is extended on the external monitor.
