PowerPC :: G5 Loading Images Slowly?
Jun 22, 2009I have a powermac g5 dual 2ghz with 2 gigs of ram and its loading images frickishly slowly.Any reason why?

PowerPC :: Click When Loading Web Page / Images On G5
Sep 12, 2010My PPC G5 computer is currently connected to two monitors via VGA adapters, and lately when I scroll any window on either of the two screens, or resize a window, I hear a faint clicking sound through my earphones. I also hear it when I load a new web page (using either Safari or Firefox). The images seem to click faintly when they load. I'm on Mac OS X version 10.5.8, on a Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 with 8GB DDR SDRAM.

Apr 10, 2012I have DSL and AirPort Extreme on Snow Leopard imac. Web pages on Sarfari have been loading very slowly lately. I have the Activity window open (Sarfari>Window>Activity) to show all the page items as they are loading. The web pages usually get hung up and not all page items load. I have to Stop and Reload, sometimes several times to get the web page to load completely. This is very frustrating as I've been re-checking AirPort, Browser, and Mail settings. The Mail application runs fine.

Dec 10, 2014I have seen a few postings about Safari loading slowly since the upgrade to Yosemite but this is really starting to aggravate me now. I am having no problem whatsoever when loading the same pages in Firefox - which in fact is how I am having to write this posting.

Nov 12, 2009I have been having a problem with some websites, various ones. The page starts loading and I see the images load but once the page is done loading all of the images disappear and I get the little broken link icons in their place. I have no problem seeing those sites using Safari. Other sites are not a problem.
I have not done anything to tweak the pipelining and I have made sure that the box is checked to load images automatically with no exceptions. Java is also checked.

but I have had the problem in us sites as well. I does not happen at all websites, just enough to make it annoying.
I do not have any unusual firefox exts just color tabs, Google Preview, Tab Mix, coolPreviews, download helper, numbered tabs, fireftp
Safari :: It Is Only Loading Partial Images
May 6, 2012Safari is only loading partial images on various web sites. Oftentimes, it will load half an image and the rest will be gray blocks (almost like it's corrupt).
I've cleared safari plists. Chrome works fine. Restarted my Airport Extreme.
MacBook Air :: Very Slow Loading Of Images?
Aug 20, 2014I have an infuriating problem with extremely slow loading of extracts on the British Newspaper Archive site and something must have happened to cause it. I have a Macbook Air, was on Snow Leopard, the site always worked fine. When I came back to the site after a few months, the pages took 2 minutes or more to load. However on the similar Australian site, Trove, there is no problem. BNA say no one else has the problem. It happens on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera. I have even had an upgrade to Mountain Lion - the problem continued. I copied everything to a Passport and had the laptop cleared out and upgraded to 10.9.1. The site then worked, but as soon as I migrated my stuff back from Passport, the problem returned. I’ve tried disabling Sophos, had removed Ghostery.

Software :: Email Images Not Loading In Entourage
Dec 4, 2009I'm not able to see images in emails, even after clicking 'Download Images'. I am using Entourage 2004 w/ OS X 10.5.8, on a PowerBook G4. I have installed the latest Office and Mac updates. I am able to see the images correctly when using my other Mac (PowerPC G5, OS X 10.5.8), which has Entourage 2008. I've also tested by using Outlook and OWA, which I am able to see the images in the email so I don't believe it is a GPO issue.

When I login to my Facebook, it wouldn't load any images, where it will all be blank..Also, few web pages are not loading in Safari, whereas it loads well in other browsers.. I am using Macbook Pro.. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4.. Safari Veersion 5.1.7.. Has anyone faced this issue ??

Jun 5, 2012There is probably an easy fix to this, but I am clueless. I just made the big switch to Mac recently, so bear with me.When I am in Safari trying to upload an image the file upload box remains blank. The little load icon is constantly "loading" but nothing ever really loads. So, I cannot uplad any files. Originally, I thought it may have just been a bug in Facebook. But, I went to my blog as well to try and upload images, but the same thing happens.

Mar 21, 2006Okay, basically, I've had my PowerBook for a little over 2 years. Over the last few months, it's been incredibly slow. For example, I can only load one or two tabs at a time in Safari before the 'rainbow spinning wheel of death' appears, and takes a couple of minutes to leave, and load the page. This type of thing happens across the board, on pretty much all applications.

PowerPC :: Accessing Images On PC Drive From G5?
Jul 25, 2010Anticipating the delivery of a G5 tomorrow and it has a clean drive fitted apart from o/s but all my project images are on a tb drive on a pc, do these need copying over to the G5 or can I fit the drive as a slave into the G5 and will the images show up in the mac browser? Or am I expecting too much?

Oct 31, 2007My mates just got himself a g5 mac of ebay and brang it to me to help him get it working.Im no mac expert just use them at work and have a mac book, but no more than him on the subject so trying to help!In the product description of the item it said it just needed a start up disk to work, i have no start up disk for it so cant test this right now.Is this common with macs? im sure my book came working right away with out this trouble?

PowerPC :: Organizing Images In IPhoto With Appropriate File Names
Sep 25, 2010Every time I try to "share" (move them out) my iPhoto files and move them out of iPhoto to another folder, if the numbers happen to be the same from a previous time, it will tell me they already exist and do I want to replace those photos with the new ones. The problem is they are not the same image, and I don't want to loose the older ones by replacing them with the new ones. How do I avoid this? I've tried to rename them in iPhoto and it still says they are the same number. I'm trying to organize my thousands of images.

Jun 3, 2007Until yesterday, my iMac G3 slot is working fine, but today, I can't power it up. When I press the power button, the light just flash and then went off. I've opened it up to check the PRAM batt and also checked if there are any shorts on the logic board. All looked ok to me. The HDD is working fine and I supposed the power supply unit is fine too.

Sep 16, 2009I am done with PCs as my PC died on me again....for the last time. I am a total and complete Mac newb and need an older Mac system, as I cant afford the new ones. I see the Power G4 being sold on Ebay all the time but with no operating system. My question is: How hard is to install the operating system if I were to purchase an older G4 and....the software....what should I buy? Where to purchase it? If I purchase an operating system off Ebay....how do you know it is for real and not a pirated copy? Take it easy on me guys....I am a newb with my first post. I had a guy off Craig's List who going to sell me a system...but never to be heard from again. Now....I like the looks of the old G4 and hope to learn more about them....to the point of owning one. I have read that the Power G4 is a nice machine and runs well.

Sep 17, 2010I thought I'd upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5.8, Leopard. All went well except now I can't load the print driver correctly to use all the printer facilities. Yes, I went to the Xerox site, downloaded the drivers then through System Preferences looked for the printer to add. Can't see anything that looks like a Xerox, nothing in Appletalk. Go to more printers and it gives me the option of HP IP Printing, two Epsons and a Canon under auto. So I look at Manual. I did get it to work manually by typing in the IP address, but that doesn't allow me to use any of the features of the printer, just the basic print. I did note that there is something under Windows in the System Preferences, but I'm loathe to fiddle with this until I know what I'm doing. I'm at my wits end. Otherwise it's back to Tiger on my backup which will cause other issues. G4 PowerPC, 1.5Ghz: 2GB DDR SDRAM

Oct 9, 2005I have a 12" PB and latelly became a nightmare with the stuck CDs. Usually it does not want to eject CDs/DVDs from companies but it handles fine virging cds/dvds. ?? Probably there is some formating in the industrial kind of CDs outside, who knows.just want to open this thread for people with the same problem.If the drive tries to eject but can't and end up mounting the CD again. Just take another CD and when you press eject again push that CD into the slot but just one third and you will see the stuck CD coming out with no problem as well.It seems there is a sensor or something that obviously does not work well. I inserted a virgin CD and the drive worked just fine and ejected later on, but a CD as the installer for my Linksys get stuck and some other softwares too.

Feb 16, 2007I have a charcoal iMac DV SE 500 which won't complete a proper start. The machine chimes and begins to start, and then clicks off again before anything can show on the screen. It won't start in Target Disk mode, and zapping the PRAM (starting with alt/apple/P/R, right?) has no effect. Does this sound like a dead PRAM battery, a dead 'Power/Analog' board, or a dead hard drive? Can anyone give me an idea of how much it would cost to fix, and recommend good, reliable, cheap UK repairers It's not worth much, but I have a friend who'd love it if it can be restored to life, and I'd like to get some of the files off it if it's not the drive.

I only use it for web browsing, word processing, and minor media storage, but it's definitely showing its age. Web pages take a while to load and streaming video's too slow to be usable. I have searched this code on google and it turns out to be a problem with my ram.
The big problem is that when turning on my ibook, it shows the grey apple screen, loads to the loading screen. This screen loads everything except the last thing, which says "Loading Login Window".
From that point on it does not continue.

No more lights on the board no nothing the only thing that does s that it change the color of the charger plug, play the song and on the bottom where it goes the battery turn 3 lights like if it where loading something, I guess it means there is power in it. Also if n that moment I click on the mouse does like if it were doing something.

Jan 26, 2008I have a 17" PB, 1.33 ghz with 1.76gb ram. In September it gave signs of the hard drive failing. It would crash right after booting and then not boot at all.If I booted into target disk mode i could still access the files. I backed everything up and did many versions of trying to reformat / reinstall my OS to no avail. When Leopard came out I went through the process again to see if that might help but it didn't. Today I replaced the HD and now it still won't boot at all. It goes to the grey apple screen with the rotating loading icon and stalls. I've let it sit there for 10 minutes or more.
