View 9 Replies View RelatedI have DSL and AirPort Extreme on Snow Leopard imac. Web pages on Sarfari have been loading very slowly lately. I have the Activity window open (Sarfari>Window>Activity) to show all the page items as they are loading. The web pages usually get hung up and not all page items load. I have to Stop and Reload, sometimes several times to get the web page to load completely. This is very frustrating as I've been re-checking AirPort, Browser, and Mail settings. The Mail application runs fine.

I have seen a few postings about Safari loading slowly since the upgrade to Yosemite but this is really starting to aggravate me now. I am having no problem whatsoever when loading the same pages in Firefox - which in fact is how I am having to write this posting.Â

As a newbie to the site, I am hoping I will be able to find some wonderful advice from somewhere as I am encountering a problem with Google calendar which has been happening since last week.
I have 10.5.4 running Safari 3.1, which should all work with Google Calendar, but it loads up the page through my usual account and password, but then gets stuck 4/5ths of the way into loading. This means I can't access any data within the calendar, so I can neither add nor modify existing data within the calendar.
I also have a PC here and that can access the calendar fine, using Internet Explorer.
In addition to this problem, for the same amount of time I have also been encountering frequent error messages on frequently-visited sites like Facebook saying that the page "could not be loaded as the server was not responding". Really odd. I have checked with my service provider and have assurances that my bband is 6+Mbps, so it's not that.
I have 3 macs all running the same OSX and all encountering this same problem.
Any ideas? I have emptied the cache, deleted the cookies (they are still enabled). Does anyone know if Safari 3.1 is now out of date and no longer workable with this app? If so, Google are fibbing on their help page!
Google websites are not loading properly all of a sudden (other sites seem okay). I have disabled and uninstalled Safari extensions, reset Safari settings and even tried reinstalling Safari, but no success. Â

Over the past two or three weeks, my Safari has bogged down. It will load most Web pages just fine, but YouTube, Google and Facebook just won't launch. I managed to use it to download Firefox and it's working great. Safari is still a no-go.

I just recovered from a hard drive failure via Super Duper. Went to do a post crash Time Machine and it is taking HOURS. What gives.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm going to try and keep this as simple as possible. Last night I went to use my imac and for some reason every wed page I would try and go to either wouldn't open, would time out, or would load so slowly as to be almost no use at all. I reset my modem (I use a wired, ethernet connection) and everything was fine with the internet connection (or so it seemed) because I checked to see if I was able to torrent for instance and that worked just fine. The problem seemes to be based solely around browsing the internet (using both safari and chrome).

A new problem has cropped up recently with my MS Word for Mac 2008. Sometimes when I try to scroll, either with the scrolling wheel or by dragging the bar, Word responds slowly and jerkily. There's a huge delay between when I try to scroll and when the document actually moves. This doesn't happen all the time, but it is happening with increasing frequency.Â

What does this mean and why is it happening? Is it normal? Doesn't happen with safari, but safari has been bugging out; doesn't quit properly. I have a mid 2011 imac 21.5.

I am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.

I run 3 Macs (and an iPad and an iPhone). The Macs are 2 new (within last year) desktop iMacs and I have a Macbook Air. I synchronize calendars, contacts etc through iCloud and one calendar from my Exchange Server at work. All has worked great for months. Suddenly my desktop iMac at work won't load ANY calendars. Zero. Most of the options in the menus are shaded out too. The other two computers (and the two mobile devices) are all loading, synchronized and working fine. Â
To resolve this I have tried the following on the offending iMac:
-exit ICal, remove "com.apple.iCal.plist" and restarted
-reloading the iCloud account from scratch on the offending computer
-run the Disk utility (no issues) Â
Still nothing. Â
I have not loaded any updates or software between when it was working fine last week and when it decided to stop loading calendars sometime over the weekend. Â
Do I have to wipe the entire disk clean and reload everything? Â

Safari won't load certain web pages at all and some times it won't load any. I have run all the updates that I can and there was a notification that some malware called "flashback" had been removed. I was hoping this was the end of the problem but nothing changed after that. I had the idea to throw away the safari application all together and load a new one but I can't get to a page where I can download the version of safari I'm currently running (5.0.6).Â

Previously the solution was to install Safari plugins Inquisitor or Glims but Apple have removed the interfaces from Safari 4 that these plugins used - and there is still no built in Safari Preference to set the locale of the Google search. Effectively this renders the Safari Google Search field pretty well useless - at least for UK users. If you're searching for UK-based businesses or individuals, for example, the thousands of USA results that come up first are just not relevant - (that's an example of British Understatement. by the way
