What does the number in the red circle in the dock's iCal logo mean? In Mail it means unread messages but I can't find anything in iCal that it could be referring to.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.

I just noticed this today, the second of december, that iCal is displaying DEC 1 on the dock when ICal is closed, but when I open iCal it changes to DEC 2. Screenshot with iCal closed and one with it open:
View 24 Replies View RelatedWhen iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?
View 15 Replies View RelatedToday is the 19th and my ical dock icon is displaying the 18th. My dates and times are correct in my preferences and display properly every where else. When I launch ical it is also on the proper date and the dock icon will display the proper date as long as ical is open. When I close ical the dock icon displays the wrong date again.

I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).

Only the number keys on my keyboard are malfunctioning besides the number 0. For example when I press 1 it appears as q1. When I press 2 it appears as w2. Â
I am not sure if I accidentally pressed something on my keyboard that has changed the functioning of my number keys. I've tried fidgeting with the keyboard settings in System Preferences and holding down the f6 key but nothing has worked.Â

My FCP 7 keeps on asking me about my serial number. I've thrown that box a long time ago. How can I retrieve the serial number? Also, I don't want to move on to FCP x. there back in September when I got my macbook I had the problem where it wouldn't boot past the apple logo screen and it was taken away and the hard drive had to be replaced and now it has happened again! I'm so annoyed as Im getting really close to exams at Uni so need my computer but will it need to have the hard drive replaced again!? As well with it being Lion I dont have a disk with it to try utility disk.

Pages will only let me embed hyperlink into text.So I made a line "click here" next to the logo and linked it to that. It works fine but when emailing it the logos don't arrive on the receiving end. I see them in the email when I send it, but not the receiver.

It used to be there, and I have another account set up in Mail and the number appears next to it when there is an unread message. It's just this one account.Here is a picture of what it is like, even though there is an unread message in the mailbox.I want the number of unread messages to be next to Gmail on the right.Also, the number of unread messages for the Gmail account do not appear on the Dock icon.Both of these functions work with my other account that is set up in Mail, and that account is a Gmail as well.

Everytime I upload that ical backup file... nothing happens in google calendar. It does nothing in Firefox... and safari I just get 0 was transferred. I just want to bring over my calendar to google. Does anyone know what is going on? Anything I am missing?
I just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
