Jun 22, 2012It looks like individual files can be protected with a password or passcode. However, I wanted to know if there's a way to protect an entire folder with a password or passcode. Thus, one would not be able to access any files within that folder without the password (or passcode). Is that possible?

Jun 26, 2012Anytime I open the preferences in Mail and click on the "accounts" button, Mail prompts me with the "Mail can't verify the identity of Account" window and asks me to verify the certificate. This wouldn't be a problem, except I deleted the account months ago since I let my domain and account expire. I even opened my keychain and deleted all instances of the domain login details and certificates, and yet it still pops up in Mail. What gives?

I decided I would run the First Aid program in utilities just to make sure everything is doing well. I was just wondering what is the difference between the two options "Verify Disk" and Verify Disk Permissions"- what exactly do each of them do? It almost sounds self-explanatory but can someone shed some light for me?
I've ran all the verification tests on each hard drive I have and repaired them when needed. So far it has only been my external WD hard drive that needed to have a repair, though I didn't notice anything wrong with it prior to running the verification test. Basically, I'm just wondering what each of the functions do.

May 19, 2012I have the "show detail" box checked but Disk Utility is not showing detail. It goes through verify and repair, says it is finished, but shows no files. I have never had No files need repair. My computer has been slow and erratic and usually running Disk Utility works, but not now.

Mar 24, 2009Mac and only my mouse responds, I can not type anything and the keyboard gives me 2 green flashes every 3 seconds. I restart and reset PRAM and hope its fixed. thanks to auto login I am on my desktop but still can not type anything and getting 2 green flashes, I remove the keyboard from BT list and try setting it up again, now I it starts asking me for the passcode. My iMac came with the wireless keyboard so I have no idea what the passcode is, and I get pop-up after pop-up asking me for the passcode. Is there anyway to reset the keyboard itself or enter in a generic passcode?

Only the number keys on my keyboard are malfunctioning besides the number 0. For example when I press 1 it appears as q1. When I press 2 it appears as w2. Â
I am not sure if I accidentally pressed something on my keyboard that has changed the functioning of my number keys. I've tried fidgeting with the keyboard settings in System Preferences and holding down the f6 key but nothing has worked.Â

iPad 1, using network, no issues.
Last week it suddenly started incrementing the computer name on the network: myName Mini (2), MyName Mini (3),...This causes issues with banking software because it assumes it is a new computer each time and makes me register the new computer each time.

It used to be there, and I have another account set up in Mail and the number appears next to it when there is an unread message. It's just this one account.Here is a picture of what it is like, even though there is an unread message in the mailbox.I want the number of unread messages to be next to Gmail on the right.Also, the number of unread messages for the Gmail account do not appear on the Dock icon.Both of these functions work with my other account that is set up in Mail, and that account is a Gmail as well.

Seems to me that in earlier versions, if you had a folder with 100 items (e.g., photos) in a folder in a finder window, when you clicked on the folder, something like "100 Items" would appear at the bottom of the finder window. I don't see this now in Lion.
