I was wondering if anybody out there may know why this is happening to my iCal dock icon. When the app is not running, the date on the icon is displaced by like 15px, then when it is launched, the date goes back to the correct position. Check it out:
View 2 RepliesToday is the 19th and my ical dock icon is displaying the 18th. My dates and times are correct in my preferences and display properly every where else. When I launch ical it is also on the proper date and the dock icon will display the proper date as long as ical is open. When I close ical the dock icon displays the wrong date again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that my iCal doesn't anymore update it's Dock-Icon with the correct date? I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).

Here's what I did so far: changing most of the icns files in the iCal.app/Contents/Resources. and changing the App-empty.icns in iCal.app/Contents/Resources/iCalDockTilePlugIn.docktileplugin/Contents/Resources. So the icon is changed, but the date still shows up on it. I am not using candybar.

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I'm working on setting up my new icons(text ones) and I was able to get the whole icon deal working but I can't seem to get the date to stop projecting overtop of the ical icon. Is there anyway to fix this or some resource file I can delete to stop it? I've already backed up the resource files so deleting stuff is okay.

I've tried removing dozens of files and the whole iCalDockTilePlugIn folder, logged out and in, killed the dock more times than I can count and it's still there.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have this icon behind the Application icon on the dock and I cannot figure out what it is. It is not something on the desktop as I have moved the dock and can't see it, so it is definitely connected with the Application icon. I have deleted all downloads which could have been half done and I have removed an Alias I had in the Application folder. Now all the Applications appears as "Applications" in the "Kind" column when viewing in Finder.

My iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.

I just noticed this bug with the new iCal's dock icon. Anyone else getting it?
When iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?

You know how there is a blue dot underneath an application's icon in the dock representing that the application is running? Is there a way to change this to another color? I don't see any option for it, so I think it's unlikely that it can be changed but if it can I'd appreciate being told how to change it.

When you click to maximize you only get one, and then nothing else happens if you keep clicking with others minimized in there

I've ported my Qt 4.3 application on Mac OS and it works correctly fine. After I've created a setup which install my application and other required files. Now I'm searching help for 3 things :
1) How I can customize my application icon and give it a specific icon
2) How to create a desktop shotcut of my application after installation
3) How to add my application to the Dock.
I'm on Mac X 10.4.6, I'm using Xcode 2.0 and I've created the setup with PackageMaker.
To the point... I use TimeOut to remind me to get up and move, while I am on my computer. It is a handy app that will make the screen go blank for how ever long I set my breaks to last.
The thing is... I don't need the application icon to sit in my Dock taking up space telling me the application is open. I know it is open since it tells me to get up and stretch every 20 minutes by blanking my screen.
So, is there any way to take the application's icon off the Dock while still leaving it open?
I'm used to KDE and Gnome, where if I close an app, it's closed, end of. No more consuming processor power and no need to go round housekeeping and right-click+quit. Please help me understand how to change the behaviour of my Mac mini so when I click the little red X, the app closes properly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I'm trying to find a way to hide the SpaceSuit icon in the doc while it's still running. The main reason is that I use the command+W to close my applications and sometimes SpaceSuit gets closed accidentally in the process. I added:

I've use a terminal command to create a SOCKS proxy through my ssh server (ex. ssh -D 2008 -l user server.here), to which I am then prompted to enter a password, and everything is connected. For the sake of ease of use (as I need to do this frequently), is there any way I can make a dock icon, or something along those lines, so I can just click it, it runs the command, I enter a password (or maybe even not?) and it's all set? I have tried setting up a workflow in automator to run a shell script, but it is unsuccessful, leaving me with "Run Shell Script failed: Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal."

I'd like this to occur only for this one, single app, not for any other apps, whose icons I still would like to see in the dock when they're running. If this isn't possible, no big deal. The applications and download icons are a folder and have a little embossed icon in the middle. The documents icon is a set three folders.... I have a screenshot here. I would like to make the documents folder the same as the other two (a single folder icon with the embossing in the middle). On both my other two macs, this is the case. When I open up the icon with "get info" this is the case. I know how to open up the icons using "get info" and use cut and paste to change their appearance. But no matter what I do, it still stays the same, as in the screen shot.

On Mac, if you have the browser opened you can see it while in photoshop. I do web design and I never know whether I'm looking a print screen or the actual site. Can anyone recommend an app that "fades" the background so I can visually focus on the program being used? I tried Think, it works fine but with only one app at a time and I that to happen with all apps, as this is annoying for any software.
