Only the number keys on my keyboard are malfunctioning besides the number 0. For example when I press 1 it appears as q1. When I press 2 it appears as w2.
I am not sure if I accidentally pressed something on my keyboard that has changed the functioning of my number keys. I've tried fidgeting with the keyboard settings in System Preferences and holding down the f6 key but nothing has worked.
I have a macbook pro late 2011. Yesterday, I was using as usual my macbook the whole day. So I went to bed and shut the system down usually. Today I've started the OSX up and the number keys on the keyboard were not working anymore... The weird thing is that the whole keyboard is currently working except the keys from 1-9 (even the Zero key is working as usual) and I have to use the virtual keyboard to type them...

The 1 to 9 keys on the top part of my keyboard stopped working. The ` 0 - = keys all work fine. It is a wireless keyboard (model no. A1314) without a number pad on the side. Nothing has been spilled on it. I have tried it on another Mac and it does not work there either.
I want to get the apple wired keyboard (not the wireless), but I'm undecided on which version. Is the shorter wired version a lot more cramped than the longer one, in respect to the majorily used keys, or is the spacing the same between the characters for both keyboards. I never use a num pad normally and would like to free up a little space on my desk, but I'm worried that the rest of the keys will be more cramped and uncomfortable to type on.
Does the logic board serial number match the computer serial number?
My reason for asking is that 4 months ago my sisters G5 17" logic board supposedly got replaced with a new or refurbished logic board but it seems by the workmanship of the board something fishy is going on.
My apple keyboard number pad doesnt work on windows via bootcamp (works fine on osx 10.5.3), I have the latest firmware for the keyboard on macos and have checked the software update on windows but nothing fixes it, what can I do?
I'm using Fusion with my Boot Camp partition on my MacBook. I've got an external keyboard (Matias OSX Keyboard). My number pad doesn't work in Windows but does in OS X. I'm not sure if there is a num lock key or how to access it if that would make the difference.
My number pad hasn't been working lately. It looks like some kind of setting has taken effect and I'm not sure how to fix it. For example, my numbers are now directional movements for my cursor: 2 moves it down, 4 moves it left, 6 moves it right, 8 moves it up, and 1, 3, 7, and 9 move my cursor diagonally. My Logitech MX Laser mouse works fine but somehow clicking gets disabled. I have a feeling these problems are related somewhere.
Does Apple sell the bluetooth wireless keyboard with the number pad and arrows? Its something that I overlooked when looking into buying a mac. I want the aluminum wireless keyboard, but I hate not having the number pad and arrows. I couldn't find one anywhere.
Whenever I hit the right or up arrow key on my macbook, it does shift either right or up but it also type either the number "8" for the right arrow key or the number "9" for the up key. How do I get this to stop?
Okay, I closed my display on my MBP and it went to sleep then about ten minutes later I came back to it to check my mail and when I opened it back up it came out of sleep mode the normal dialogue box came up asking for my password and when i typed it in only every third key press was registered. So I just had to be persistent and i was able to enter in my password and it worked, however then it went to my desktop and I went to open mail and the trackpad wasn't working at all. I used spotlight to open activity monitor and check to see if something wasn't responding but everything looked fine, then after that I then force quitted activity monitor and relaunched finder and the trackpad still didn't work so I just restarted and now everything is fine but I am wondering what happened because I would prefer this to not happen when I really need to use my computer, So does anyone have any ideas of what might have gone wrong.
Last Friday my mbp was sent out for repair by the apple store. And now I know that I can look at the repair status but it says return pending. It's getting shipped here to my house how do I get a tracking number so i know where it is?

Today when I tried to find the serial number of my MacBook in "About This Mac" and System Profiler it says Serial Number System Sal#. I haven't replaced the logic board or had any service done and I'm wondering why it would suddenly disappear like this. My MacBook also has not been "sleeping" when the battery gets low, the computer just shuts off without the low power sleep state it usually goes into around ~1% battery left.
I recently had my MBP taken to the Geek Squad to have the optical drive replaced under the extended warranty through BestBuy (which I didn't know I was getting BestBuy's warranty, not the AppleCare). When I sent it in, they replaced the bottom casing, optical drive, and the logicboard. When I got it back, I noticed that my serial number for my MBP is missing, they didn't enter the number when they replaced the logicboard. Is there a way so I can personally enter my serial number back into my MBP. I figure if I go back to BB, they will send my MBP off to the service center in Kentucky or something.
