My iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.

View 24 Replies View RelatedWhen iCal is closed (meaning I've quit the app), the date on the iCal dock icon is "Feb 21". When I open iCal, it changes to Feb 23. When I quit again, it goes back to Feb 21. I'm pretty sure that iCal is supposed to show the correct date regardless of whether it's opened or not. Can anyone confirm this for me? Isn't the stock icon date for iCal 'July 17'?

Today is the 19th and my ical dock icon is displaying the 18th. My dates and times are correct in my preferences and display properly every where else. When I launch ical it is also on the proper date and the dock icon will display the proper date as long as ical is open. When I close ical the dock icon displays the wrong date again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that my iCal doesn't anymore update it's Dock-Icon with the correct date? I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).

I use my Mac at work (as well as at home). I have 2 calendars- 'Work' is connected to my Exchange account. 'Home' is synced through iCloud. For some inexplicable reason, when I get a repeating meeting invite from a customer (who is using Google calendar in their company) to my work Exchange mail account the invite goes a bit nuts. Basically the invite goes into my 'Home' calendar and sets me as the meeting organiser! So... now I have a meeting invite, that I cannot remove, in the wrong calendar. If I remove it it threatens to send out meeting cancellations to all (20!) of the attendees! Needless to say I will not be in a good place if that happens! So my challenge to you all- how on earth do I hack this meeting invite out of my iCloud calendar? From searching around there seems to have been an application, called iCalpone, that could do this, but it is no longer available.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anybody out there may know why this is happening to my iCal dock icon. When the app is not running, the date on the icon is displaced by like 15px, then when it is launched, the date goes back to the correct position. Check it out:
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to out-right remove the 'Leather' skins that Apple has used with iCal and Address book. We had a client jokingly ask us if we were working on kids computers the other day. Not impressed to say the least. We've read about the hacks floating around in the internet wilds but would prefer a Mac-enabled way of changing this. Why isn't this an option in the app preferences?
View 1 Replies View Relatedfor a while now I've had a problem that is driving me up the wall. I cannot remove an icon from my dock (as in dragging it off or right click, and hitting "Remove from Dock") without the Dock locking up for a second, crashing, and restarting.

I tried going into ~/Library/Prefernces and deleting com.apple.plist and the other db plist file but besides resetting my dock preferences, the problem persists. Do you think it could be an issue with Dock.app itself (on my system)?

View 7 Replies View Relatedi was wondering if anyone knew how to actually remove the indicators from the dock. I'm able to know what applications are open without it through constantly using apple-tab, but I really want my dock to not show the little indicators. And no I don't mean make them bigger or smaller etc. because I've already discovered how to do that by looking up how to remove them :P (didn't find anything).

I have just upgraded to 10.6.6 and App Store has installed itself on the Dock. I wish to remove it from the Dock as (a) I am unlikely to use it, and (b) I don't want a cluttered Dock.
However whenever I drag the icon off the dock and it disappears in the traditional cloud of smoke, the next time I start up the computer the icon is back on the dock.
For some reason since installing a new OS I can't remove programs from my Dock anymore? I used to be able to just right click on the program and select remove from dock but everything program I now right click on says "show in finder" with no other options to delete it. I've only just recently installed OS X 10.3.9 (I can't remember what I used to have on here as this was a new OS CD).

Right Click on Dock icon. Show Package Contents.
Then open Contents and then Resources. View from Menubar on top. View as list. Then click kind on top of window and view by file type. Select all the .png files. Right click and say Move to Trash.
Restart the computer and see it. If I remove the 3d effect it looks ugly. But with 3d dock on it looks cool. Almost blending in like there is no dock at all.

p1 and p2 are blue background and p3 and p4 are X logo. But as in p2 and p4 if I open Safari I get a small shadow. And it goes away if I minimize or quit safari. Still not bad.
Or this is the normal look with 3d and all the files in tact before I edited anything.

But I can't decide which looks cooler. With or without dock.
Is there anyway I can remove an application icon from the dock, even when the app is open? This particular app has an icon on the menu bar and I don't need it to be on both.
