OS X :: ICal Not Changing Date Automatically On Dock
Dec 2, 2007
I just noticed this today, the second of december, that iCal is displaying DEC 1 on the dock when ICal is closed, but when I open iCal it changes to DEC 2. Screenshot with iCal closed and one with it open:
Is it possible for my ical icon in my dock to automatically put the correct date? Cause everytime i look at it i keep thinking its the 17th. lol. Like this if anyone can please tell me a plugin or something it would be great. it aint a big deal, because i could just remove it from my dock. lol. but yeah.
Today is the 19th and my ical dock icon is displaying the 18th. My dates and times are correct in my preferences and display properly every where else. When I launch ical it is also on the proper date and the dock icon will display the proper date as long as ical is open. When I close ical the dock icon displays the wrong date again.
I just noticed that my iCal doesn't anymore update it's Dock-Icon with the correct date? I remember that this has worked flawless before, so I must have changed something (maybe the 10.6.3 update)? When I start the iCal Application, the number (e.g. 9 for 9.4.2010) gets updated, but as soon I close it, it'll go back to 6 (for 6.4.2010).
I was wondering if anybody out there may know why this is happening to my iCal dock icon. When the app is not running, the date on the icon is displaced by like 15px, then when it is launched, the date goes back to the correct position. Check it out:
So I'm working on setting up my new icons(text ones) and I was able to get the whole icon deal working but I can't seem to get the date to stop projecting overtop of the ical icon. Is there anyway to fix this or some resource file I can delete to stop it? I've already backed up the resource files so deleting stuff is okay.
I am trying to get the iCal's icon to not display the date, but nothing works. Here's what I did so far: changing most of the icns files in the iCal.app/Contents/Resources. and changing the App-empty.icns in iCal.app/Contents/Resources/iCalDockTilePlugIn.docktileplugin/Contents/Resources. So the icon is changed, but the date still shows up on it. I am not using candybar.
I've redone my desktop and icons to be really simple and I was wondering if there is a way to keep the date from being displayed over the top of the iCal icon? It doesn't look right with my theme.
I have been changing all of my icons by downloading different ones online, I am wondering how I can download an ical icon and have it change with date.
I want to change the iCal icon, I have already actually changed it (all five files) but the date that it shows will not go away. I've tried removing dozens of files and the whole iCalDockTilePlugIn folder, logged out and in, killed the dock more times than I can count and it's still there.
SL has this new feature where you can display the date in the menu bar beside the clock. However, it shows my date as "Oct 27" even though I set my date format as "27 Oct". Is there any way to change this?
I am working with Photoshop, Icon Composer from the OS X disc, and CandyBar. What I am doing is making my own icons. I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make an icon for iCal that actually displays the date or if this is even possible.
I'm getting an error that says "No associated application could be found" when clicking on a Date Smart Link on the Mail.app.The Date Smart Link is actually the words "Next Thursday" with containing the link x-apple-data-detectors://0
Is there a way to change the date format in the column to display the date number. currently i can get the date to only show ex. friday, 11:42 or yesterday 11:42. i would like to see friday 4, 11:42 instead.
I know how to insert the date and time, but I need it to automatically put it in the format of Month/Date/Year (ie August 3, 2009). When your insert the date and time in Pages, it automatically puts it in the format of Day/Month/Date/Year (ie Monday, August 3, 2009). I know if you right click on it and select "Edit Date and Time" you can adjust the format, but I need it to automatically put it in the format I want (Month/Date/Year) when I select "Insert Date and Time."
My question is how to handle the difference in creation date between the paper document and the scanned file. The paper files are from the past 50 years, but of course the file creation date of the scans is the date of the scan. How can I reconcile this? Ideally I would like to make the scan metadata creation date of the PDF/A the same as that of the original paper file creation date.
All I want is to copy my pics to another disk without MAC OS change the date on wich I shot them.Pics, sent to me by e-mail also loose there original date. I understand the difference between making a new file by copying, but I don't understand why it change when I remove them.
My date and time resets each time my mac sleeps or is reset or if I open date and time options. It keeps sending emails of my old reminders from 2008/2009 from ical and my to-do list emails me its reminders. This happens every time I open my comp or even just open date and time options. I also get the ical reminder notification that pops up freezes on my screen. Not sure how this happened, but can anyone help?
I want to start an event in the calendar, on this very day, for after 2 weeks (just giving an example). Also I want to add an notification, that is going to notify me and all the invitees, for example 10 before the very event. How can I do that? I tried to do it, but it only reminds me, not the invitees.
I googled but nothing struck me, so i thought id ask the clever people here. Is there a Site, Program that will automatically add big events into Ical, so I know there coming up? Any ideas ? when i switch my ibook on it says that the date is set to 2001 or earlier and so i need to change the settings. I can't physically access the settings
In calendar, when I minimize it to the dock, the date is incorrect. It used to be today's date but is now stuck on June 17. I've restarted my Mac--no change.
My iCal icon is invisible within the dock. It appears the normal icon when I open iCal but when I quit it, it goes back to being invisible. I have taken it out of the dock, putting it back in the dock, and the issue is still there. This happened a few days ago, and a restart fixed the problem, but it came back today. It seems its only ical.
