I need to substitue a word/phrase with a web address. Example: Go here where when clicking on here opens a website. Is there an easy way to do this within a a website? I run a bulletin board and reference websites. I would like to put a word or phrase instead of teh website address.

Is there some way to insert a PDF as a text link (click link >> open document) in a Pages document? Pages defaults to an image of the PDF (which is relatively useless). If there is some way to change this default behaviour (or some other way to hyperlink to a PDF that doesn't result in an image.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMBP found 2 of my 3 printers right away. Tried manually configuring the 3rd which is an older HP Laserjet 1320 connected via USB to a D-Link print server. In Win you config using the IP address and port name. Configuration appeared to work but nothing gets sent to printer. If this is an easy fix I would like to go that route but if the print server hardware is too old please suggest good alternative that will work for both Windows and Mac systems as I have both in the house.Â

Has anyone successfully set up a D-Link DNS320 NAS on their network? The DLink manuals provide minimal to nil instruction for Mac setups.I have setup the NAS with 2 3TB WD Caviar Green drives, but everytime I drag files to folders on the NAS, the Finder either asks for a password or tells me outright I don't have permission to read/write files on the NAS. Other times when I try to dismount the NAS, I need to reboot the Finder to release the NAS so it can be unmounted.None of my folder settings (vies, location, view options) stick from one view/setting to the next. I can't see how the drives were formatted (I am assuming Windows-specific formatting, over which there is no control or access to options).
I have set up the read/write access using the DLINK web interface (10.0.1.1) and all appears to be normal until I try to use the NAS.I have tried to fix ACLs and permissions etc with individual folders and with the volumes themselves using Terminal command "sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` " but this hasn't worked.Various other sites have been visited (eg url...) but no help there. The DLINK web pages are near-totally useless. Unless someone else has gotten theirs to work, its going into the bin and I will have wasted $$ in buying the box

My colleague has a very strange Lion/WLAN/Mail/Safari problem. He does the following steps:
1. Start up MacBook Pro
2. Start Mail
3. in Mail he clicks the following link [URL]Hint: This is from the Welcome Mail from Apple "Congratulations to your new iPad" >> it links to the iPad ManualÂ
4. Safari tries to open the linked PDF - stops after a few seconds
5. WLAN crashes
6. he has to reboot cable-modem an WLAN-Modem
7. Internet + Mail runs fine after restartÂ

I bought a 2011 mac mini second hand and would like to update product registration and link lion to my apple id - is this possible? When I first switched on the mac mini I was presented with standard setup screen to choose language, then progressed through setup, including entering my apple id. I thought this would have linked my apple id to lion which is pre-installed, but when I signed into mac app store neither lion or iLife suite show up under purchases.My main concern is that I was planning to upgrade hard drive and I won't be able to install lion to it.

10.7.4 frequently freezes with the translucent dialog to power down then power up. This is not isolated to any particular application. Started with the upgrade to 10.7.4. Bluetooth device Bose Wireless Sound-link will not play either but does show connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMac screen resolution is getting higher and higher, which is nice, but the downside is that we seem to have lost "what you see is what you get." I have set the default document size of Text-Edit to about the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 document, which fits easily on the screen. I have what appears to be a single page of text. It all easily fits in the document window. The headline fits across the width of the page. But when I choose Print, the print preview shows that the text is going to spill out onto two sheets of paper.  I exit out of the print document and reduce the text size so that it all prints out on one sheet of paper. The problem is, the size of the text onscreen is now TINY! It looks like it's about 6 point while the printed text looks like it's about 12 point! No WYSIWYG!  When I revert the document to the way it was originally, where it was going to print out on two sheets of paper, and then hold my printed document up next to the screen, the printed size matches the onscreen size almost perfectly, even though, if printed out at this size, the text would spill out onto two pages and be huge. In other words, 18 point size text prints out at about 12 points and 12 pt text prints out at about 6pts, so there's about a 6pt difference in how text looks onscreen and how it prints out. Again, No WYSIWYG! My older Macs had much lower-resolution screens, but text printed out at about the same apparent size on screen. I know the original Macs had 72dpi screens so that they would closely match the printed size of text, and I like the fact that monitors keep getting better, but is there a way around this problem of printed text not matching the size of onscreen text?

So I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â
In Safari, I save the webpage as PDF. Then, in Acrobat X or Preview, I copy the text and Paste into other programe, like word ,etc,So,the Chinese text can't display.Â

I have designed a corporate letter head for a friend and it is still in jpeg format after using photoshop. Now I want to import it into a pages document so that I can give it to him in PC format so he can type over the watermark and put his letters onto his letterhead... now I can do that quite easily on my PC but not so on my Mac...
I can add the watermark image into the Pages document but for some reason I can't work out how to modify the text from then... i can see how you move the text formatting but if i wanted to add a word into a paragraph etc i can't select the text. It's as if the watermark layer is the only layer I can select and the text is not longer selectable.... can anybody help me out with this please? I just need to be able to select the text layer and modify the text..
Today, with no major changes at all (or downloads), The screen on my MBP no longer shows the files, folders, and aliases I had set up. Only the Hardrive and Idisk Icons. Everything else is GONE? I rebooted, I relaunched, reviewed preferences. Nothing. I also repaired permissions and rebooted.
If I use Finder and drill to the desktop, I definitely SEE all the files aliases, etc. But the don't show up on my screen?

I'm using Text Edit in plain text format as a html editor. I get an error when I try and edit using Transmit, when I try to save, Transmit says: The documents "doc-name.php" could not be saved. Text encoding Western (ISO Latin 1) isn't applicable. If possible, select a different text encoding. I cut/paste from text edit into the Transmit file and it doesn't work.
