Getting error in mail.app. When writing new message try to change text color to red and then to black. My text becomes white. And there is no way to change it back to black.

Is there (or will there ever be) any way to change the white default color of finder windows in column and list views? Or is there a 3rd party app? You can change them in icon view but that's the only view I never use. My eyes get so tired staring at white all day. If I could make all my windows dark grey I could work longer, better, happier. Would also love to make the Mail app dark.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'll start off with a screenshot.I'm specifically talking about the bar on the right hand side, that slides from the red I chose to black.Is there anyway I could have that same sliding-type bar, only sliding from red to white? Is there anyway I could have them both up at the same time? (So I'd have two different sliding bars, one going to the black and one going to the white) (Or actually, even if they could be combined... that would be sweet too. I did not find a solution for certain documents, to change a background without breaking the style. I'm using the lowest brightness but I found its easier to read when I make the background gray, for example in textEdit.

I've got an early 2008 Mac Pro, and when I now run at the native resolution on my monitor, the color seems almost too white. Lettering gets washed out a bit (like writing text on this forum post). The white bleeds over everything. If I take a screen shot and look at it on a different mac, it looks fine - so there's something wrong with my video drivers. I can boot the machine into a Snow Leopard build and everything looks fine, but back in my main Leopard build, it doesn't. Is there any way to re-apply video drivers?

I would assume there is something like this on OSx? I dont want anything to "build" webpages for me like Dreamweaver. For doing html by hand (and copy/paste) the colors really help your eyes work on a complex page easier than just using textedit for example.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a couple-year-old Dell 22 inch monitor (model SP2208WFP) and I'm having trouble figuring out the best connection to use. I have a early/mid 2010 MacBook Pro and the monitor can connect via VGA, DVI, or HDMI. Connecting via VGA is terrible - text is incredibly unclear and hard to read on the external monitor. Connecting via HDMI is much better in text clarity, but the colors are weird such that I can't see most pictures because they're too dark. Connecting via DVI seems to be the best option - colors are the correct color and the text clarity is fine, but still a little jagged with smaller text. I've tried using the calibrationg assistant in System Preferences on my Mac, but that seems to make things worse.

under the preferences when you go into the message window settings, you can change the font, but how do you change the color of the font. I can't seem to find that.
View 13 Replies View Relatedbefore switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.

my txt messages sent from my mac is going to another country. the two numbers in my messaging app (left or bottom)are the same person with same number,(which is why i showed it in contacts app) but somehow i get my message through a different tab (without+86) when i receive and if i reply to that nameless tab, my message goes to US (it automatically adds 00s behind the number).Â

Here's where Automator needs to come in:
When an email with the subject keyword is received, have Safari open the URL contained in the body of the message.
Copy all of the text from the opened URL.
Compose a new email message and paste in the text copied from the web page, and email it back to the original sender.
Close Safari.
I am using the Mail (5.2) app in OS 10.7. I have my Inbox sorted by decending date, i.e. newest mail at the top. When I delete a message, Mail currently selects the message above, i.e. the one that had arrived after the deleted one chronologically. Since I work through my emails from newest to latest (usually), I will already have seen the newer mesage. What I want to see is the next message on the list, i.e. the next one, which arrive before the deleted one. My question there is: How can I advance to the previous message rather than the next one (chronologically) after deleting a message?

I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
