Downloaded OSX Lion to my laptop. I want to install it on my desktop directly because bandwidth is slow. Can't find OSX 11 installation file on the laptop. How do go about the transfer and install to the desktop

I have an iMac 27 (end of year 2009) I5.It has 1 TB internal and I want to replace it with a 2 TB internal. I have time machine backups on an external hard drive that has been connected via Firewire. I have another iMac (my son's)Imac 24 Intel Core 2 Duo that has it's own separate Time machine backup to it's own separate firewire connected external drive.Both machines are completely up to date with the latest version of Lion and all other necessary software updates.When the internal hardrive is replaced - I want to use my latest time machine backup to create one profile on the imac and then use my son's latest time machine back up for a second profile.The end goal being to have everything from my current set up ie: apps, documents, itunes, etc existing in one profile and everything in my son's current set up existing in the other profile.We can both be administrators for the time being as well.I should note even though we both have some of the same apps, we both also have other apps that the other does not.
My profile will be using about 900 gigs of total space.My son's profile will be using about 250 gigs of total space.This is temporary until the new iMac is released.Then I will want to transfer my profile to that leaving my son's intact on the iMac 27 I5.I realize that during the temporary period that Time Machine will be making backups of this entire two profile setup, which I am now understanding as I write this will create a new issue for me when I want to transfer only my profile to the new computer as well.But one bridge to cross at a time, I guess.I need to do this because we must bring his current computer to my father - as his iMac G5 is inoperable. We have been doing this round robin hand me down in our family since IMac DV special edition :-)

how to install the Lion OS on more than one computer? I downloaded and installed Lion on my iMac today, but want to do the same for my other two computers as well. Is there a way to find the DMG file and save it onto a flash drive instead of downloading it all over again? I searched using Spotlight and could not find the downloaded file anywhere.Â

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a spare disk (in bay 1). Do I need to format the disk in NTFS or MS DOS (FAT) before installing Windows 7? The computer currently tells me that the drive is not formatted for installing Win 7 on it. I had used this drive before for Leopard, cloned it to another drive (bay 2), upgraded to Lion, and erased and formatted the drive in bay 1, but not for the NTFS or MS DOS (FAT).

I have three Macs backing up via Time Machine. They are using an external hard drive connected to one of the machines. These back-ups take place on site every day, but I also want to use the same back-up system to back-up to a second hard drive which can then be stored off-site.I have initiated first back-ups OK using this system, but now when I look to change the back-up drive once a week the machines don’t seem to recognise the earlier back-up files on the external drive and start to make a new back-up each time. The back-ups are all large and I can’t afford the time this is taking. How can I make my drives recognize the earlier back-up files and just perform an incremental back-up rather than a complete new back-up each time.Â

I bought a new HD and used it with time machine on my new mac. I am looking for something on my old Time Machine... Specifically iTunes playlists.. They are very difficult to find by just searching through the back up folder.. What I want to do is, enter the old time machine on my old HD and export some of the iTunes playlists to my new HD. Then of course go back to my current time machine back up and continue using my computer... Can I do this? and Can I have both Time machine devices connected to the computer at the same time?

Basically I have an imac and a ibook G4, my imac is running on Tiger 10.4.11 and my ibook just had a new hard drive installed and is currently without any OS as the original owner doesn't have the original disks. So, I find myself needing to buy a retail version of either Tiger or Leopard and the only thing that makes sense to me is to upgrade my imac to Leopard and install the same on my newly acquired ibook. I'm trying to make my Intel so my PPC user can connect to my user via screen sharing and play an Intel based game online with me. I have the screen sharing working and everything, but apparently the LAN doesn't work because we have the same IP.
So, my question is: Is there a way to make my other user have a different IP than my main user? I'm thinking maybe some mac address emulator may work, but I thought I'd see if anyone here knew an easier way before I got too complicated.

when i was installing xp with bootcamp the computer restarted (after i chose my paition and copy some files) then i eject the disc, however it cannot boot from the partially installed disk.. it said disk error, please press any key to restart
I just finished with the installation of windows XP SP2 on my MacBook Air, it all went fine.. but at the moment when I inserted my Leopard disk in order to install the drivers, the screen turned blue and the computer rebooted by itself in a matter of seconds. I've tried 3 times by now and keep doing the same.

I have a 2010 mini that shipped with Snow Leopard. I hooked up to my TV with display set at 1080p and had no problems for a year and a half. I just installed Lion, though, and a few times now, when the computer wakes up from sleep, it has changed to a lower resolution. I can go back into System Preferences and change it back, but I don't think I should have to. This is a Mac, after all.
