OS X V10.7 Lion :: Can't Find A Driver For HP Officejet 6480
Jul 5, 2012
I converted to Lion because Mobile Me was ending. I thought I had found all my issues - Quicken, Quickbooks and my ancient Christmas Card list on Appleworks. Nope - 1 more! I don't want to spend any more on this transition! Is there any way to print to my printer with a generic driver if neither Apple nor HP list it as supported in Lion
I click 'software update' then it began to download data and after that, the computer asked me to reset it, I did reset, but I cannot get into the system. It says 'unable to find driver for this platform', what does that means? My computer is MacBook Pro 314.
My Officejet 5610 has stopped Scanning since the latest HP upgrade from Apple last week. I cannot conect with the scanner. I am using Lion on a MacBook Pro.
I purchased a new hp Officejet 4620 wireless printer about 10 days ago. I followed the directions with installing it and it worked great. I did not use it until yesterday. I was not able to print from the wireless printer. How do I correct this issue?
I have a windows 7 disk here ready to install. But my Snow Leopard disks are at Uni. Can I use Win7 at all without this disk? I can use it on sunday when I get back. Is there anywhere I can download my device specific drivers?
I was reinstalling a printer driver and my power cut off while it was installing.now the computer wont start and i get this message below... I read to use the install dvd but my CD drive is broke and wont take cds. I did manage to hook it up to my dads computer with target disk mode so i can access files. his computer is a windows though. i do have a copy of the Leopard install cd saved as a DMG on his computer and a 8gb flash to boot it but i cant format the flash drive to be mac extended journaled GUID from his computer.IS there a program to do this???I dont know what needs to be fixed or where i can get this acpi driver? can anyone help because i dont have any money to get this fix and i need my mac for college which im starting soon. This is the error message

made the mistake of trashing "system", then disk icon disappeared from desk top.Shut down, then restarted which brought up the grey screen with cryptic "panic" kernal(s). Basically..."Unable to find driver for this platform "Power Mac 7.3" This is all happening on a PPC g5 dual proc. 10.4.11.
After initial problems loading the driver of the CD I was advised the do a software update on my iMac and to download the latest driver from the Epson site in the U.S. Having done all of that and successfully loaded the software the iMac still cannot find the printer driver when trying to add a printer.Â
I have previously loaded everything and have printed via usb but have not been unable to print wirelessly. Has anyone any clue as to what I might try?
No updated driver from apple. The all in one wireless lexmark (X6570) printer is a few years old. I had a working driver with snow leopard which carried over to lion, but I deleted it trying to go wireless (mistake).
I can't find the yosemite driver for my new epson r3000 printer. I am using 10.10.1. The Epson website says to find the driver by going to the App store and looking for updates. I did that and didn't find any. In "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences I notice that the computer is aware that I am connected to the printer (via USB) but a message at the bottom of the window says that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer..."

Got an iMac G5 manufactured in 07' (PPC) from a relative and I am trying to erase the HD and restore.I'm putting the disc in it gives me a kernel panic screen- Grey install disc 10.4.10 Not sure what the heck is goin on here. New to mac's this is what code is shown at top of kernel panic screen- cpu 0 caller(0x002E59BC) Unable to find driver platform PowerMac 12, 1
I had a Dell 1100 laser printer working on my iMac (G4 ball type) using a GIMP printer. I had to reset the queue and lost the driver. I can't remember which GIMP driver I used. Also, although I have loaded the latest GIMP s/w, I can't seem to get to them in Tiger 10.4.6.
I have a MacBook Pro running on OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite. I installed a HP Officejet 4620 connected through WLAN, the printer works but cannot make the scanner work. I installed the printer connecting via WLAN. The system automatically downloaded the right driver set.
Later I installed the HP device driver downloaded from HP. After rebooting network, printer and PC the scanner worked. The fun was short lived. Three days later I could not scan. I get following error message:Scanner reported an error..HP Officejet 4620 series is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later.
Of course the printer is turned on and it is connected to the WLAN. I rebooted network, printer and PC. Still does not work.According the the Apple support page the printer is supported on OS X 10.10. On the HP support pages it is not listed.which printer/scanner product works reliable with OS X even after a release update.
I bought a seagate 1tb and 2tb external hdd. I got both of them to work BUT THEN, after transfering about 50 gb of data and then restarting, IT CHANGED format to windows and I losed all my data. I am going to return these drive. how to remove the driver for the HDDs?
I downloaded the latest drivers from the HP site. I can direct the printer to print a "test" page, and it prints out an Excel Spreadsheet without problems. However, it won't print a GMail email from Safari and it won't print an email from OSX Mail. It seems like it is going through the motions for over a minute then releases a blank page. And get this, the same GMail page that wouldn't print from my Gmail on Safari does print fast and easy from Firefox.
I have put the wrong driver on my IMac running OSX 10.7.3 and need to go to an older driver. I've tried to find out where the drivers are but no sucess. There is a driver for XBox 360 game controllers that I loaded and it appears in System Preferences but controller hardware is not recognized by the driver even though the System profiler see's the XBox 360 controller listed under USB devices. I'm trying to remove the current driver and load an older driver which some people say works. I can't find any system file with the name XBox 360 in it on my computer but when I try to install an older version of the driver it doesn't allow me because it says I have a newer version on my drive. So in general, how do you remove non functioning drivers?
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Quad core I7, 8GB RAM, 27" screen
I an getting an error saying driver information not available (for a supported printer) even though it sees it attached to USB and I have installed the drivers on the computer.Â
Latest HP printer updates list the HP P2055dn printer as being supported. When I go to install the driver, I get a message stating "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software". On Apple's support page clearly states that this printer's drivers are included in the Apple Software update; [url]
In the office where I work with my Mac there's a Canon copier/scanner model iR2318. Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine. Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new. How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?
Just out of the blue, I can't print using my epson 600, a multi use printer that I have set up on my network.
The strange thing is my scaning driver is there and working, but my wireless printer is not there. I can see my Epson Printer, but its not the wireless driver, its the older driver for using the cable.
