made the mistake of trashing "system", then disk icon disappeared from desk top.Shut down, then restarted which brought up the grey screen with cryptic "panic" kernal(s). Basically..."Unable to find driver for this platform "Power Mac 7.3" This is all happening on a PPC g5 dual proc. 10.4.11.
View 1 Replies View Relatedfrom Leopard, inserted the installer dvd and restarted but this came out on the screen:
"panic(cpu 0 caller 0x002E54BC): unable to find driver for this platform: Powerbook5,2" ...
I click 'software update' then it began to download data and after that, the computer asked me to reset it, I did reset, but I cannot get into the system. It says 'unable to find driver for this platform', what does that means? My computer is MacBook Pro 314.

I converted to Lion because Mobile Me was ending. I thought I had found all my issues - Quicken, Quickbooks and my ancient Christmas Card list on Appleworks. Nope - 1 more! I don't want to spend any more on this transition! Is there any way to print to my printer with a generic driver if neither Apple nor HP list it as supported in Lion

After initial problems loading the driver of the CD I was advised the do a software update on my iMac and to download the latest driver from the Epson site in the U.S. Having done all of that and successfully loaded the software the iMac still cannot find the printer driver when trying to add a printer.Â
I have previously loaded everything and have printed via usb but have not been unable to print wirelessly. Has anyone any clue as to what I might try?
No updated driver from apple. The all in one wireless lexmark (X6570) printer is a few years old. I had a working driver with snow leopard which carried over to lion, but I deleted it trying to go wireless (mistake).

I can't find the yosemite driver for my new epson r3000 printer. I am using 10.10.1. The Epson website says to find the driver by going to the App store and looking for updates. I did that and didn't find any. In "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences I notice that the computer is aware that I am connected to the printer (via USB) but a message at the bottom of the window says that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer..."

I have an eMac 1GHz MacOs 10.5.8-768 MB SDRAM.Very slow on NEWER routers when on the internet. Safari takes forever to load a page. eBay takes up to 40 secs to load. Done all the clean-ups and resets possible to Safari.
Operates at an acceptable (FAST) speed with a 6 year old router, but is prone to disconnections on a regular basis so I have stopped using this. I also have a Intel iMac which operates at normal speed on new router (eBay takes 8 secs to load!).I draw a blank with this problem even support from ISP.
I have an eMac (ATI Graphics), which I'd like to use on my home wifi network. I bought an Airport Extreme card and installed it - but the icon doesn't appear on screen.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi installed the airport extreme card from my G5 cos she wants it in her bedroom but it's not connecting to the router,
my router is a Thomson TG585 V7
i never had this problem with old airport, it only seems to be with extreme although the card was connecting to the network from my g5 was basically inches away from it, the Emac is on the floor about 2ft away i goto connect and it just keeps timing out, i've made sure the wpa key is correct and even tried manually entering the network config details.
For the last 10 days I have been unable to open the Mail account on my eMac (MacOS10.4.11). When I click on the icon in the Dock the only option I get is "Force quit" and the main Mail bar will not open any choice.

I installed Windows XP SP3 and it installed just fine. I went and bought the Snow Leopard OSX DVD from the Apple Store. The bootcamp installed, etc. now that I tried to install a game, it worked.
Upon start up, it's asking for Direct X, installed that as well. Then it said that it failed because I don't have the driver. I checked and the driver is non-existent for graphics.
I have Canon CanoScan LIDE 50 and I do not know how to get it work. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from Canon official webpage, and I also have downloaded and installed CanoScan Toolbox 5.0, but still it wont work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to have full read/write/format/repair ability for NTFS partitions, but every single solution out there explicitly says that it only works with the x32 version of Snow Leopard. This includes Paragon NTFS, NTFS-3g and the newest corporate version of NTFS-3g (which offers dramatically better file copy speed than the old free version).
Curiously, the final version of MacFUSE ever released (2.1.7b) the underlying driver that facilitates all of these NTFS filesystem plugins is 64bit and has an x64 kext that works just fine. Considering that the FUSE part of MacFUSE stands for Filesystem in User Space, shouldn't it be relatively easy to transition the userland part of the driver (the part that actually deciphers the filesystem) to x64?
I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and I get the following message when trying to start Windows 8. I'm trying to get my Dell 3000cn printer to work with Mac OS 10.3.9. I cannot get the printer to work with the generic PCL 6 driver.
I'm an IMac newbie, so please excuse me if this is "old" information. However, I've done a lot of searching and can't find a "simple" solution. Maybe there isn't one. Again, please excuse me if this is dumb...Just got a new 27" IMac. I have a Dell AIO 966. I know now there is no OEM driver. But, I thought there was a Lexmark driver model (that might show up in the OX 10 install process I could substitute, or a Generic driver. So far, no luck. And frankly, some of the things I am reading when I search are either old, old posts or too complex for me.
Is the simple answer, "get a new printer?" Or, is there a usable driver loaded into OS X? Is there a thread or post that I am missing?
I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.

I had a Dell 1100 laser printer working on my iMac (G4 ball type) using a GIMP printer. I had to reset the queue and lost the driver. I can't remember which GIMP driver I used. Also, although I have loaded the latest GIMP s/w, I can't seem to get to them in Tiger 10.4.6.
