OS X :: Unable To Find Driver For This Platform - Getting Message On Power Mac 7.3
May 9, 2010
made the mistake of trashing "system", then disk icon disappeared from desk top.Shut down, then restarted which brought up the grey screen with cryptic "panic" kernal(s). Basically..."Unable to find driver for this platform "Power Mac 7.3" This is all happening on a PPC g5 dual proc. 10.4.11.
I click 'software update' then it began to download data and after that, the computer asked me to reset it, I did reset, but I cannot get into the system. It says 'unable to find driver for this platform', what does that means? My computer is MacBook Pro 314.
I was reinstalling a printer driver and my power cut off while it was installing.now the computer wont start and i get this message below... I read to use the install dvd but my CD drive is broke and wont take cds. I did manage to hook it up to my dads computer with target disk mode so i can access files. his computer is a windows though. i do have a copy of the Leopard install cd saved as a DMG on his computer and a 8gb flash to boot it but i cant format the flash drive to be mac extended journaled GUID from his computer.IS there a program to do this???I dont know what needs to be fixed or where i can get this acpi driver? can anyone help because i dont have any money to get this fix and i need my mac for college which im starting soon. This is the error message

I have a windows 7 disk here ready to install. But my Snow Leopard disks are at Uni. Can I use Win7 at all without this disk? I can use it on sunday when I get back. Is there anywhere I can download my device specific drivers?
I converted to Lion because Mobile Me was ending. I thought I had found all my issues - Quicken, Quickbooks and my ancient Christmas Card list on Appleworks. Nope - 1 more! I don't want to spend any more on this transition! Is there any way to print to my printer with a generic driver if neither Apple nor HP list it as supported in Lion
After initial problems loading the driver of the CD I was advised the do a software update on my iMac and to download the latest driver from the Epson site in the U.S. Having done all of that and successfully loaded the software the iMac still cannot find the printer driver when trying to add a printer.Â
I have previously loaded everything and have printed via usb but have not been unable to print wirelessly. Has anyone any clue as to what I might try?
No updated driver from apple. The all in one wireless lexmark (X6570) printer is a few years old. I had a working driver with snow leopard which carried over to lion, but I deleted it trying to go wireless (mistake).
I can't find the yosemite driver for my new epson r3000 printer. I am using 10.10.1. The Epson website says to find the driver by going to the App store and looking for updates. I did that and didn't find any. In "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences I notice that the computer is aware that I am connected to the printer (via USB) but a message at the bottom of the window says that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer..."

Dual 2ghz Power PC G5 with Leopard 10.5.8Recently had it in for a repair, not with Apple (that expired a longggg time ago) because it would only turn on intermittently. They fixed this problem, citing bad components and also replaced the broken optical drive. However when they gave it back to me it was incredibly loud, they stated that they had to reconnect a fan and that was probably what caused the power problem in the first place. I'm pretty sure though that I had disconnected it unwittingly about a week after the power problem started when I opened it up to change the battery... believing that may be the problem at the time.
I installed Windows XP SP3 and it installed just fine. I went and bought the Snow Leopard OSX DVD from the Apple Store. The bootcamp installed, etc. now that I tried to install a game, it worked.
Upon start up, it's asking for Direct X, installed that as well. Then it said that it failed because I don't have the driver. I checked and the driver is non-existent for graphics.
"The USB device is currently drawing too much power. The port it is attached to will be deactivated" As of last week, this message pops up when I plug in my digital camera cord. I tried all of the plugs, with and without other things plugged in and this message still pops up. I thought it was the cord but I tried a new camera cord and it's doing the same thing. I have an Intel Mac, 2.16ghz, 1GB. It's 2 years old and has never had this problem before. I've tried rebooting twice and it's still doing it.
I have Canon CanoScan LIDE 50 and I do not know how to get it work. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from Canon official webpage, and I also have downloaded and installed CanoScan Toolbox 5.0, but still it wont work.
I would like to be able to have full read/write/format/repair ability for NTFS partitions, but every single solution out there explicitly says that it only works with the x32 version of Snow Leopard. This includes Paragon NTFS, NTFS-3g and the newest corporate version of NTFS-3g (which offers dramatically better file copy speed than the old free version).
Curiously, the final version of MacFUSE ever released (2.1.7b) the underlying driver that facilitates all of these NTFS filesystem plugins is 64bit and has an x64 kext that works just fine. Considering that the FUSE part of MacFUSE stands for Filesystem in User Space, shouldn't it be relatively easy to transition the userland part of the driver (the part that actually deciphers the filesystem) to x64?
I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and I get the following message when trying to start Windows 8. "Unable to load the Parallels driver / problem ID 352"...I have tried running the Disk repair permissions and disk utility permissions and reloading Parallels 7 as suggested by Parallels.I am running OS X 10.9.4
I have a macbook pro with a 750 GB hard disk. This was purchased only recently. Two months ago, it showed a message which said the hard disk was full. This was despite the fact that I had less than 10GB of pictures and music together.
When I spoke to Apple, they said that Yahoo mail tends to create a recovered messages folder, which he helped me locate and delete. This gave me 740Gb back.
It has happened once again. And i cant seem to lopcate this folder. I cannot find Mail folder either having gone through user/library etc.
I want to use a different sound when messages are rec'd. Can I add a sound file to wherever the app stores its sounds and then select it through preferences?Â

I'm an IMac newbie, so please excuse me if this is "old" information. However, I've done a lot of searching and can't find a "simple" solution. Maybe there isn't one. Again, please excuse me if this is dumb...Just got a new 27" IMac. I have a Dell AIO 966. I know now there is no OEM driver. But, I thought there was a Lexmark driver model (that might show up in the OX 10 install process I could substitute, or a Generic driver. So far, no luck. And frankly, some of the things I am reading when I search are either old, old posts or too complex for me.
Is the simple answer, "get a new printer?" Or, is there a usable driver loaded into OS X? Is there a thread or post that I am missing?
I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.
I have a Power Mac G4, dual 866mhz, 2gb RAM. I recently purchased (2) 2TB HDs to use as a file server. The drives install fine and show up on the desktop. Whenever I try to drag files to it, I get an error message saying there is not enough free space. There is nothing on the drive. I tried reformatting with different formats and it still does not work.
