Jun 9, 2012I can't install a printer on my iMac. When I go through system prefs, add printer, it sees the printer and manages to make it to looking for installable options then that window just hangs. I can use the computer, but the window stays and it never actually installs the drivers, i'm using a wireless connection. The same thing happened before with a previous Epson printer connecting by USB. In the end I managed to connect it to my Macbook.

Apr 27, 2012I have a 3.06 Intel Core Duo iMac and a 253 Intel Core i5 Macbook Pro. Both are running 10.6.8. They have until recently successfully shared my HP C8180 All in One Printer, the iMac being connected to the printer via USB and to a Netgear Router via Ethernet and the Macbook Pro being linked to the router wirelessly.Â
Having just updated the HP Drivers via software update on both machines the Macbook Pro is no longer able to connect to the printer via the iMac wirelessly and the printer is not reported as being "Nearby". It does however connect via the iMac if it is connected to the router via Ethernet !Â
Printer sharing is on on the iMac, I have tried removing the printer from both machines Preferences and re-instating them (which coincidentally has meant I have lost the connection to "Lightscribe" and can't get it back on either machine !) I've tried installing the latest HP Software to try and get the Macbook pro to connect to the printer directly via the router but witth no success - it reports that some of the HP software is not compatible with 10.6.8 despite HP saying it is for 10.6.Â
how I can get the laptop to print in the way it did up until earlier today and how to get "lightscribe" back?

Oct 8, 2009My son has a MacBook with Snow Leopard. We bought a new Epson Wirelss all in one printer. It is working fine on by desk pc. With the Mac, I had to download the drivers for SL from Epson. Did that. At the add printer screen, the Epson never shows up. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled at least 10 times. Twice, the name of the Epson flashed briefly onto the add printer screen and then disappeared. Any suggestions?

Dec 4, 2014I can't find the yosemite driver for my new epson r3000 printer. I am using 10.10.1. The Epson website says to find the driver by going to the App store and looking for updates. I did that and didn't find any. In "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences I notice that the computer is aware that I am connected to the printer (via USB) but a message at the bottom of the window says that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer..."

Apr 7, 2012The instructions for uninstalling the Hewlett Packard CP1518ni driver (CP1510 series) speak of an uninstaller in my applications folder (Mac OS 10.5), but there isn't any. I have installed the driver twice and in neither case was an uninstaller installed per the log. How do I completely uninstall the driver (short of looking at the log and manually removing all the bits)?

Apr 21, 2012I recently accidently deleted an old printer, Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX Ink Jet Printer, in Mac OS X 10.5.8 on an old MacBook Pro (2008; 15"). I cannot figure out how to readd it manually without having the physical printer connected through its USB cable. Do I really need to have it connected to do this? I rarely use it and do not have access to it at the moment.

Apr 19, 2009I've just bought a Macbook and I've been trying to find drivers for my Lexmark X5150 all-in-one printer. I thought it was meant to be simple in leopard but my printer doesn't seem to be supported by default, like most printers are, so I looked on the Lexmark site but they only supply drivers up to Tiger, nothing for Leopard. Does anybody know if a driver exists for this printer and where I can find it, and if not, if there are any drivers that will work? I am not too worried about the all-in-one functionality, I just want to be able to print at least.

I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

Apr 6, 2012I need help to reinstall the software for my Lexmark Z615 printer. Due to other problems on the MacBook, I had to wipe the hard drive and start over. When I did, I could not find the CD-ROM with the software for the printer. I am still looking for it.  I then went to the Lexmark website and downloaded the "Lexmark Utility Web Installer.dmg" for the Z600 series.  I opened that file and activated the "Z600 Series Utility." That led me to a window that asked for the "printer software." I looked at the list of "printer software" offered by the utility, and none of them was for the Z615. I chose another one more or less at random and tried to print with it. Of course, the printer did not operate. I have gone into "printer setup," and here is where I am:
I am at the limit of what I know about setting up printers. Does anyone have any advice for what I should do next to get the printer to operate?Â

Aug 28, 2009I just installed Snow Leopard successfully, but it doesn't know my HP2600N network laser printer. It's not in the support document and the closest printer, a 2605N is supprted. But HP's site says "HP LaserJet - Software Information for Mac OS X 10.6" and "Obtain Software", but there's nothing there. Any idea of when HP will support the 2600N? (All other upgrades had no problem with the 2600N).

Feb 5, 2012About every other day, my Mac keeps losing connection to a Brother USB laser printer. I have to disconnect the USB connnection and reconnect it to get the Mac to see it as being online. I've used this printer on this Mac for years without problems.
