I am trying to create a resume in pages '08, but the header on the resume template is way too big for my purposes. I would like to shrink it so I can fit ~ 2 more lines of text onto the first page.
I have tried 1. exporting it to word 2. clicking everywhere in on the page 3. shrinking the line spacing between subheaders and sections, but it was not enough. 4. swearing
Is it possible to make the spacing of the header smaller, or am I just sol?
I have two annoying issues and hopefully one of you can help. i have looked around and cannot find an answer to my question, especially my second one (which i think is connected to the first one). I am using Safari 5.1.3 and OS X 10.7.3. One of the accounts works perfectly, the other has two issues:
1 - Safari will always start with the same set of old windows, even closing some of them and then reopening safari will always get us to the same old set of windows. I understand the (new) standard behavior is that if i open windows A, B and C and then quit Safari, at reopening it will open the same windows A, B, and C. If i now proceed to close window (or tab) C and then quit Safari at the next opening i shouldbe presented with A and B only. This is not the case for me, i am presented still with A, B, and C. I can add to the windows but not subtract. Clearly something is wrong here. Thoughts?
2 - Trying to debug problem 1 i decided to close all the winodws in Safari, then in System Preferences-General uncheck the "Restore windows when ..." and so i hoped that closing Safari and reopening would get me to just the homepage, but this was not the case and i was presented with the same old set of windows. This is easily explained by the fact that under system prefs-general the box i had unchecked was still checked. It lets me uncheck it but does not retain it.... I obviously tried rebooting to no avail.
For the last two weeks every time I open my imail application on my G4 tower after 3 to 4 minutes it crashes. I get the screen letting me know that my computer freezed and I have restart.
It seems that since 10.7.3, the "Resume" "FEATURE" now does not obey the setting the General Control Panel (I have Resoter windows when quitting and re-openning apps un checked). Â I have an app that is causing the system to hang, but when I send shutdown -h now as root from the terminal and then restart the machine, ALL the applicatinos and their windows reopen, no matter what I do, including the one that is hanging. Â
I've bought Macbook pro yesterday and checked for software updates. But unfortunately my internet modem restarts for about 10 seconds, and I lost my update. Why doesn't the update resume by itself?
I just bought an iMac G4. This machine has been great, until a few hours ago. I was surfing Camino, when I went to go to IE for Mac (to check my Gmail, because Camino crashes when I go to Gmail) and then the same website I typed in on IE [URL] showed up in Camino. Of course, Camino crashed. Then, Camino started itself back up again, automatically surfed to [URL], and crashed again. Then Camino started up again...(and so on)
So I chose to force shut down the computer via the power button (which was probably a bad choice). When I got back on, I tried starting Camino. It crashed almost as soon as I clicked on it. I tried again...same thing. I soon came to realize that everything to do with the internet (Camino, Safari, IE, AIM) crashes the same way (almost as soon as you click on it). You ask how it crashed? Just the normal "This application unexpectedly quit" type.
I am trying to download the Lion .dmg image using the Lion Recovery partition. My connection is flaky, and keeping a connection for the number of hours the downloader indicates is pratically impossible. Everytime If restart the download, the installer throws away what I downloaded previously. How can the downloder be made to resume a previous download? (This is a pre-installed copy of Lion, so the App Store is not an option)
When I resume from sleep the top half of the screen is grey'ed out and it won't go away without going through Shut Down. Just restarting has no effect. Â
FYI Just had a look at the sgcreenshot now that its been uploaded and its considerably brighter than the actual screen. In reality the top menu bar is almost completely occluded and the tone graduates out from about 90% black at the top to around 10% black at the centre of screen. Â
If my time machine is backing up to time capsule and the backup size is big like 100 GB. Can I shutdown and resume after startup maybe next day? Will it verify and backup correctly?
I use FCS 2 Final cut pro 6.0.5, hdv 1080i60 shot on canon xl-h1
When trying to playback the timeline, for what ever reason... crash! Doesn't happen all the time, and not for any particular reason. Also, when I tried to export the project, it got to that magic 7% and crashed. Export settings were as follows:
-Quicktime Conversion -H.264 -FR 30 -Limit:2500 KBs -Key Frame Every 30 -Custom Res:872x480

iPhoto 8.1.2 is crashing on my friend's MBP. We tried repairing permissions, but it didn't work. The application opens, freezes everything and then crashes,
Over the past month Lion has been crashing, running slow and freezing constantly.\Â I am not used to having so many PC type issues on my Mac. I have done Disk repair in utilities and removed unecessary programs at start up.Â

My mac book pro keeps crashing as soon as I update the OS from 10.7 to 10.7.3. It happened thrice and now I am not even able to reinstall the OS. It keeps downloading the additional components and keep increasing the time from 30 mins to 1hr 40mins.
I recently (2 months ago) purchased a new mac book pro and migrated everything from my older mac book pro running Snow Leopard to Lion.Since moving to Lion I have been experiencing frequent crashes of Mac Mail, I spend a large portion of my work day in mail and experience this as many as a dozen times a day. Mac Mail will crash while
1) composing an email, 2) when clicking a link in an email 3) clicking the attachment icon to add an attachment 4) clicking on an attachment that has been sent to me 5) somestimes just trying to exit/close Mac Mail and the it hangs and I have tp force quit. After Mac Mail crashes and is restarted, clicking on the same link or attachment will workI have removed my mail IMAP folder and settings and re-established the connection from scratch but the problem persists.I have ran the disk permissions repair utility and the problem persists. I have ran the verfiy disk utility and it reports no problems.I have ran the Apple hardware tests including the extended tests and no hardware issues are found. Has one experienced somewthing similiar?Does anyone have any suggestions where to start looking for the root cause? All crash reports seem to look [code]

For some reason, Finder has been crashing randomly for one week. Every five minutes or so, Finder closes for 10 seconds, and reopens again. Every time, I get a lot of error reports in Console:
I am getting the following message on my iMac, it happens when doing different things so can't pin-point when its happening.I get the following error report when I restart the matching

my mac pro early 2008 will crash a few times just after start up and then it will stabilise and work fine. i have done a repair disc on a few occassions still with same result.
My late 2008 MacBook (aluminum) crashed last month. I have fixed many of the items that quit working except: I can no longer automatically log in. When I go to Preferences and then to Users & Groups (Login Options) the "Click the lock to make changes" always goes to page which says "System Preferences quit unexpectedly." On that page it says Exception Type: EXE_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) and Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000. Is there a solution that does not require me to wipe the computer and reinstall from scratch?
